Is it alright if I request for some general cuddle hcs with the bachelors and bachelorettes?

So I tried to keep it as general as possible and it still ended up being really long lmao… Hope you enjoy anon!

Bachelors

Alex

Cuddling with Alex is kind of hard, first of all, because he wouldn’t be able to stay still if he tried, second of all because when he’s sitting on the couch or lying down on the bed it takes him like 30 seconds to fall asleep.

Those times when he’s awake though? He’d wrap himself around you like a burrito and press you to him. He likes holding you close and whispering sweet nothings in your ear, making you blush.

He’s almost always the Big Spoon, but he also loves being Small Spoon, he likes to put his head on your chest and feel your heartbeat. It’s actually his favorite way to fall asleep: his head on your chest and your fingers gently tangled in his hair or on his back.

Shane

Shane at first doesn’t like cuddles. He’s not very physical with you until he’s able to open up more, both about himself and his life in general and physically. Then he really, really starts liking cuddles.

When you two cuddle together, it’s like charging your batteries. You’d always cuddle at the end of the day, and between him being Soft and you being tired from all the farm work there’s nothing better than laying down on the bed, under the covers and just snuggle up.

There’s not really a big spoon or a small spoon, but when he’s the big spoon he loves to play tricks on you. He’ll start kissing you everywhere as he tickles you. When he actually manages to stay put, he likes to have you lay on top of him, your legs tangled. He won’t admit it, but he always watches you fall asleep on his chest with a soft smile.

Sam

He always cuddles without a shirt on. It’s not that he expects it to go on to something, he’s just allergic to clothes. Even in the winter, he’ll take off his jumper “because clothes are uncomfortable and I keep getting tangled in the sleeves”.

He always cuddles with music on. He must always have his favorite vinyl play and run, he can’t quite focus as much on you otherwise.

He’d like to hum the lyrics in your ears as he holds on to you, his finger tapping on your back rhythmically.

When the music gets to an instrumental part if you’re awake he’ll talk to you, and either say the dumbest thing you ever heard because he wants to make you laugh or the sweetest phrases imaginable because he wants to make you blush.

Harvey

Harvey is the Cuddliest bachelor in Pelican Town. Maybe it’s because he spends a lot of time among sick people or handling their problems, maybe it’s because he knows you go into the mines very often and when you do he can’t help but worry, but more than kissing around or anything, he wants to hold you.

Sometimes he’ll ask for it, but more often it happens naturally. You’ll be lying down in bed or watching TV and all of a sudden you’re snuggled up in his arms, or he’s in yours. Cuddles with him can get really sappy and emotional, he loves to reassure you of his loyalty in you.

He often traces the scars on you, the ones he helped patch up and the older ones, and when you cuddle with him you’ll most likely end up reassuring him that you’re careful and you won’t end up in the ER (at least not anytime soon).

Elliot

Of all the bachelors, Elliot is probably the least cuddly. It might be because he’s not a very physical person, and he prefers to show his love to you in other ways, he’s always been better with words.

It’s not that he doesn’t like it. He just really doesn’t mind. He’ll happily oblige if you want to cuddle, of course, but he won’t ask for it. Only if he’s feeling particularly down or tired he’ll put his chin on your shoulder and wrap his arms around you. When he does this, he loves to be reminded that you love him too.

Cuddling with Elliot may include: him talking about his next book, him talking about a book he’s reading, him reading you a book or him telling you a story. He’ll wait until you fall asleep and then carry you to the bed.

Sebastian

Sebastian is… very, very cuddly. Nearly as cuddly as Harvey.

It might have something to do with him being alone most of the time, but when you’re with him you two are almost always cuddling or touching in some way.

He likes being the small spoon and being pampered by you, and cuddling with him almost always ends up with you two making out. Or him talking to you about his day. Mostly both.

You’ll rarely ever cuddle to a movie or a tv show, Sebastian spends almost all day looking at his computer, so when he gets time for you he wants to look at you.

Bachelorettes

Abigail

Oh, cuddling with Abigail is nice.

She will never ask out loud to cuddle. She will just wrap her arms around you and hide her head in your neck and then she’d lead you to the bed/the couch. Or maybe you’re already sitting down, reading a book or on the computer and she comes over and sprawls herself over you.

She’s soft. She likes to have your head laying on her chest and trail invisible lines on your neck and back.

You’ll often be doing something else as you cuddle. Maybe she’s playing videogames and you’re on her lap, or maybe you’re reading a book and she sleeps on your chest.

Leah

Leah’s cuddles will always be silent. She won’t talk except to say some sappy thing or that her legs/arms have fallen asleep and she needs you to move.

Her favorite place to cuddle is the forest. She likes to take you out of the farm, find a nice soft patch of grass, lay a blanket down and cuddle you while listening to the sounds of the forest, undisturbed.

Also, as she might not talk as she cuddles, she loves to listen, so cuddling her is the best way to talk to her about anything that’s on your mind.

When you cuddle in the fall she’ll always smell of chestnut and pine trees, in the summer of salt and sand, from spending so much of her time there.

Penny

Penny doesn’t cuddle often, so when she agrees, it’s some kind of treat.

Much like Elliot, she likes to read as you cuddle, but instead of reading to you she’ll let you lay on her chest (or have her head lay on your chest) and you two will read together in silence.

When she’s stressed, she likes to bury her head in your chest, hug you tightly and vent to you. 

She’s very ticklish, so you have to be careful when cuddling her because you might accidentally brush past a ticklish point and there’s no stopping her laughing.

Maru

Her cuddles come out of the blue. Usually after a long day at Harvey’s clinic, or after a failed experiment, but mostly her cuddles are for you.

She’ll always miss a spot of oil or grease as she washes up and get some in your hair or on your clothes but don’t worry, she’ll help you get clean ;)

She talks a lot as you cuddle, mostly about her day and her latest experiment, but she’ll also ask you about your day and what’s on your mind.

She loves to look you in the eye as you cuddle, her favorite position is you laying down and her head on your chest, looking up. She also loves to play with your hair as you hold each other.

Haley

Surprisingly, she’s the least cuddly bachelorette. It’s not that she doesn’t like it, it’s that her physicality comes in other forms, like random smooches throughout the day or her arm wrapped around your waist when she sees someone looking at you wrong.

Her cuddles though… *chefs kiss*

She’ll always be the big spoon, and she loves to pamper you. Mostly, your head is on her chest and she’s styling playing with your hair and talking about her day

She gets tired of it rather quickly, so her cuddles almost always end up with her smooching you or getting up to do something.

After, though, you’ll always be able to smell her perfume on your clothes

Emily

She loooooooves to cuddle.

She’s always super hyper and full of energy, and her cuddles kind of mimic that sort of behavior.

She likes to change position often, and she’ll switch between talking to you to smooching you to whisper to you in a matter of minutes

Yeah, her cuddles aren’t very relaxing, but she just can’t keep still with you in her arms. The only time when she manages to stay put is when you’re being the big spoon or right before you go to sleep. Those times though? She’ll fall asleep in seconds.

She can’t help it, she loves the sound of your heartbeat

bachelor/ettes and the pet  names they use

Alex: babe, honey, handsome/gorgeous, angel Alex would go for the more conventional pet names that people use in romcoms and sitcoms because those are what feel natural to him. He’ll also start using angel because that’s who the farmer is to him: his best friend, the first person in town that he really opened up to. Apart from that and constantly talking about how attractive he finds the farmer, most of his affection is expressed through his actions, so he doesn’t put too much thought into pet names.

Elliott: my love, my star, darling Do I even have to explain this? “Darling” and “my love” are his go-tos, but he prefers to call the farmer by their name because he thinks it sounds beautiful and loooves saying it. And you know he’ll wax poetic at the drop of a hat (e.g. “you are the ocean breeze, blowing my troubled thoughts apart,” etc.). The farmer is, after all, a great source of his inspiration.

Harvey: dear, darling, honey Harvey goes for the pet names that you’d associate with married middle-aged couples. This is backed up by the vanilla dialogue, and it is precious. He also doesn’t mind using these in front of other people, mostly because he’s usually not even aware that he’s using pet names. Love this man.

Sam: babe, butt nugget, cutie, hot stuff Of all the characters, Sam is the one who comes up with the most pet names. “Babe” is probably the most respectable pet name this goofball will ever call the farmer. Sure, he’ll call them by their name/variations of their name when he’s serious or getting his romance on. The rest of the time, though, he’ll call the farmer silly names, most of which have “butt” in them (and he’ll cop the occasional feel when he does use these nicknames lol). Boy just wants to make the farmer smile. :’)

Sebastian: babe Sebastian generally doesn’t do pet names. One day he slipped up and called the farmer “babe,” and he hated himself for it, but now he can’t stop. He’ll never let another living soul hear him use that pet name, though. Other than that, Sebby isn’t conventionally affectionate, so he expresses his love in his own ways. Just don’t make him call you “babykins” or whatever.

Shane: bugaboo, peach, sunshine, bud, honey, chickadee Shane comes up with the dorkiest (slightly unconventional) names because he is a total cornball. He really likes “bugaboo” because not only does it sound ridiculouus, but it can also be used to describe someone who’s annoyingly clingy/persistent (like how he saw the farmer when they first met). In a way, it’s meaningful for him because it reminds him of how much his life has changed. The best part is he gets so used to using dorky pet names that he calls the farmer “peach” even when he isn’t feeling particularly affectionate.

Abigail: boo, pumpkin, pard'ner, dork, loser Abby thinks her ghost-y default pet name (boo) is hilarious. She’ll use pumpkin in private when she’s feeling sappy. “Pard'ner” is a reference to Journey of the Prairie King. And since she’s the type of person who’ll flip someone off as an affectionate greeting, she’ll also lovingly call the farmer mild, meaningless insults like “dork” and “loser” when she’s feeling playful. Emphasis on “lovingly!!!”

Emily: love, starshine, dewdrop, honeydew, sweet pea I honestly can’t even imagine enough nicknames for Emily to use because she uses really sweet, really out-there terms that are mostly inspired by nature. The farmer is special, and Emily wants to remind them of that!

Haley: bunny, sweetie, honey, cutie, cupcake, pickle If the pet name sounds overly cutesy or refers to something cute, there’s a 10000% chance that Haley’s into it. She just loves showering the farmer with affection through little ways like this.

Leah: dear Leah’s love language isn’t really spoken with words. She’d rather help out on the farm and take care of you and give you gifts to show her love. She’s not really into pet names, but she thinks “dear” is a sweet thing to call someone she loves. When she expresses her feelings with words, it’s usually with direct statements about how much she loves and appreciates the farmer.

Maru: hun, honey Maru’s not that into nicknames, either. She expresses her affection through practical or physical ways, like checking on the farmer’s tools, checking up on them, handholding, smooches, etc. She probably grew up hearing her parents call each other “hun” or “honey,” and she subconsciously adopted the behavior, too.

Penny: honey, dearest, sweetie, liebling, schatzi, minou/minette, qinai, ghazal Considering how well-read Penny is, no one can convince me that she isn’t at least a little interested in other languages. She’s tried to learn new languages on her own, but given the lack of conversational partners to practice with in Pelican Town, she hasn’t really had much success. She can probably speak French as well as a three-year-old can. Despite all that, and partly because of her interest in archaeology and cultures, she loves learning and using new pet names from different cultures (and seeing the farmer react to them).
