i finally set up the spreadsheet for this project! it doesn't include breed bc I'm going for Wildclaws and almost all of the dragons I'm using are Wildclaws so it felt redundant to add, but I'm sure I'll modify this for another project in the future and end up adding breed in somewhere. is it the prettiest sheet in the world? probably not, but does it automate the math I need to do and help me keep my family trees organized? absolutely

#flight rising#i know that there are planning tools and spreadsheets out there but i am very much a purist and prefer to make my own spreadsheets#at least like 90% of the time there's some stuff i'll def use a template for#but I've thought through how i want this spreadsheet to work/look and i do genuinely enjoy making spreadsheets#so i'm sure i'll make this one soon#shit if i can't sleep tonight i might give it a shot#I'm about to try to go to bed but we'll see how that goes

so I'm going through my hoard and beastiary, making a list of duplicate familiars I can reduce if they're not worth selling, and I rediscover that the beastiary entry doesn't have the starred background unless the familiar is both awakened AND in your hoard/vault
I decided it would be fun to have it all starred out, so I start making a list of the familiars I've awakened but apparently sold so I can maybe buy them back one day (it's list making time idk) and then I see this entry
and I don't particularly remember this familiar, like I remember having it at one point but not what it's from, so I go to look it up on AH...
hey besties what the FUCK. apparently this familiar was only available for NotN in 2015 & 2016, and I must have gotten one then and awakened it, and then later sold it without realizing what I had. I think I sold it for like 300g or so when I came back to FR at some point in 2021/2022 (i've been playing on and off for about a decade) but is anyone really paying these prices?? i get that it's a limited time familiar from 8 years ago and some people go hard on getting a completed beastiary, but this is more g + treasure combined than I have in my vault after several *years*, and I consider myself a money hoarder
i guess as a long time player, even an inconsistent one, I could be sitting on a gold mine of a limited time item without even realizing it. maybe it's time for a detailed comb through of my 19 pages of hoarded apparel that I never touch...

oh I also ended up with 102 of the event items, although plenty of them were from Fiona familiars, gathering, and Baldwin's, so probably about 70 from the familiar bonding grind!
checking fr on my phone today and saw the event announcement, remembered that at one point I wanted to try to bond with every single familiar that I own in one day (about 200 more than the dragons I have), realized that I'm just riding in the car for the next hour and a half, and started working on it. I should have emptied my treasure into my vault to see how much I actually earned but I am getting several item drops
I've also used like 12% of my phone battery just bonding and swapping familiars back to back to back, and I've still got ~50 left to bond and swap!

it's been almost 25 minutes since my first post but it is now done! I did the math and in addition to the ~60 dragons I have in my lair paired with familiars, I bonded with all 176 others in my hoard, including ~50 of those being awakened. it took over an hour total and used a full 25% of my phone battery, but it is now done. probably never doing that again oops
