The End of The Journey
Tumblr media
Hi everyone, this is my final blog post for the course 🥲, and I want to talk a little bit about what I’ve learned during this term.
Before this course, I didn’t think a lot about using technology in English classes. I thought it was just extra or maybe a bit confusing. But now, my opinion has changed. I’ve seen that technology can actually help students feel more confident and interested if we use it in the right way. It’snot just for fun, it can be really useful in learning. This course showed me that clearly. We didn’t just read about things, we tried them ourselves. I worked on different tasks, used tools I hadn’t used before, and thought more deeply about how I learn. It helped me feel more in control of my learning, and that was nice.
My favorite task was the imaginary interview. 🤗 I felt creative and free while doing it. I also learned a lot about history and emotions at the same time. It didn’t feel like homework, it felt like writing a story. On the other hand, I didn’t really enjoy the infographic task. It was one of the first things we did, and honestly, I found it a bit boring.👎🏻
If I could change something in the course, I’d want to do more group tasks with my classmates. The ones we did together were really fun, and I think doing more of them would make the course even better.
In the end, I’m happy I took this course. I understand technology in education much better now, and I feel ready to use it in my future classroom.😊

AI Tools in Language Learning and Teaching
Hi everyone. This week’s project was to do an interview with a historical figure using AI. At the beginning, I wasn’t sure how to bring a historical figure to life in a realistic and emotionally engaging way. I decided to focus on Salih Bozok, a close friend of Atatürk because I’ve always been curious about their bond. Using the Magic School tools made things a lot easier. Especially during the writing process, I was able to experiment with different versions of answers, get suggestions on tone and clarity, and improve the overall flow of the interview. It was really helpful to see how small changes in word choice or sentence structure could make a big difference in how natural the text sounded.
What I liked most was the feedback part. It helped me realize where the writing felt too flat or too dramatic, and I learned how to balance emotion with clarity. I also made sure to stay involved in the process and not just rely on the tool completely. Writing my reactions and transitions made the final version feel more personal. As someone studying to become an English teacher, this experience showed me how tools like Magic School can support students in writing tasks — especially those who feel stuck or less confident. Of course, it’s important to teach students how to use these tools responsibly. But overall, I think this project showed me how technology can be a real support, not just a shortcut.
You can find all the documents and steps I completed through the link below. 😊

Working on a Collaborating Writing Task
For this project, our task was to write a film review as a group. We chose Güneşi Gördüm, a touching and powerful Turkish film directed by Mahsun Kırmızıgül. The movie explores themes like migration, war, transphobia, and family struggles. As a group, we worked together to analyze the plot, characters, visuals, and the emotional impact of the film. Our goal was to write a clear and thoughtful review that reflected the film’s deeper social messages.
Our group consisted of Saliha, Emir, Nilay, and me. You can check out their blog posts here:
We collaborated on Google Docs to write our review. At first, it was a bit hard to decide who would write which parts. But once we organized the sections and assigned roles, everything became easier. We each focused on different aspects of the film — one worked on the summary, another on the analysis of characters, and another on the visual and technical elements. After writing our individual parts, we revised and edited the document together.
Using Google Docs for this task was very helpful. It allowed us to write at the same time, leave comments, and make suggestions easily. It made teamwork smoother and more efficient, especially since we weren’t always able to meet in person. I think Google Docs is a great tool for collaborative writing. It helps students share ideas, improve each other’s work, and create something meaningful together. I’d definitely use it again for group projects. 😊

Public Service Announcement: Social Anxiety
Hi everyone!👋🏻 My friends and I created a PSA project, and our topic was social anxiety. It’s a common issue that affects millions of people around the world, including many in Turkey, but it often goes unnoticed or misunderstood. We wanted to raise awareness about how serious and real it is. In our video, we shared facts about how widespread social anxiety is and how it can affect daily life. We also gave advice on what people can do—like seeking help, being more understanding, and supporting those who struggle with it. Our goal was to inform people and encourage them to take action or be more aware of this silent struggle. You can find the link to our video below. Hope you like it! 😊

Creating a Podcast about Mental Health
Hi everyone!😊👋🏻 For this task, I created a 60-second podcast about mental health. I wanted to focus on how important it is to talk about our feelings and support others who may be struggling. In the podcast, I explained that mental health is just as important as physical health, and I encouraged listeners to be kind, ask others how they’re doing, and remind them they’re not alone. The goal was to inspire people to speak up and take mental health seriously. If you want to listen, you can find the drive link below.
The process of making this podcast was both interesting and challenging. At first, I had a hard time choosing a topic because there are so many ways to make the world better.🤔 Once I decided on mental health, I found it difficult to write the script and fit everything I wanted to say into just 60 seconds. But with some editing and practice, I made it work. Recording my voice felt a bit strange at first😅, but after a few tries, I got more confident and actually enjoyed it.👍🏻
If I were a teacher, I would give a similar task to my learners in the future. It’s a creative way to practice writing, speaking, and thinking about real-world issues. It helps students express their opinions and learn to communicate clearly. Plus, it’s fun and meaningful! 🤗👌🏻

Creating an Infographic on Cyberbullying
Hi everyone, today’s topic is an infographic I was asked to create as a class assignment. I chose cyberbullying because it’s a serious issue that affects many people, especially young students. My infographic highlights what cyberbullying is, its effects, and what people can do when they encounter it. If you like, you can scroll down and review it. 😊
The design process was both fun and challenging. I used Canva. The hardest part was deciding how to present the information concisely while still making it engaging.🥶 I had to carefully choose colors, fonts, and images to make sure my message was clear and effective. Another challenge was balancing text and visuals—I didn’t want to overwhelm the reader with too much information, but I also needed to include enough details to be informative.
I think infographics can be very beneficial in the English classroom. They help students improve their ability to summarize key points and present information creatively. Visual learning can also make complex topics easier to understand and more engaging. Creating an infographic requires critical thinking, organization, and creativity, all of which are valuable skills for students. Overall, this project helped me better understand cyberbullying while also developing my design and communication skills.

Why 21st Century Learning Matters for Language Learning?
Tumblr media
The world is changing rapidly, and education needs to change too. In the 21st century, learning is not just about memorizing facts. It’s about thinking, communicating, working together, and being creative. Language learning is also not just about grammar and vocabulary. It’s about using the language in real life, understanding different cultures, and adapting to new ways of communicating.
Technology makes learning a language easier and more fun. With apps, online lessons, videos, and AI tools, students can practice English in real situations. They can watch videos, participate in online discussions, or even chat with native English speakers. This makes learning more interesting and useful.
As a future teacher, I believe that technology should be a big part of English lessons. Students already use technology every day, so bringing it into the classroom makes learning more natural. It also helps students learn in their own way and gives them access to many different resources.
In short, technology makes language learning more convenient, fun, and easy. It helps students develop real-world skills and prepares them for a world where English is an essential tool for global communication.
