how are they gonna adequately prepare whatever child they cast for nico di angelo. it has got to be impossible for someone that young to give informed consent about playing the saddest wettest loser in all of human history. like hey kid i know youre sprightly and all of ten, but we need you to be in all five stages of grief at all times. remember, your mother was killed in fascist italy, youre eighty years old, and now youre in love with the guy who killed your sister. say this next line like you know what it's like to be an ear of corn.

I am only up to episode 2 of The Show, but so far I am liking it!
Highlights:
The casting is great, I especially think the actor playing grover is doing a wonderful job and my love for grover is reaching new levels
Pretty pretty end credits! They are so nice, I love how they blend the modern world into the older mythical aspects of the illustration. The aesthetic isn't really ancient greek, but it reminds me of the first series book covers, and has a very "childrens book illustration" look that I adore.
It's funny!
Dislikes
Percy knows a lot more about greek mythology. Especially from mythomagic and his mom's stories. In the books his lack of knowledge acts as a device for other characters to explain things to the audience by way of explaining it to Percy. I'm not sure why they would move away from this.
This is set in long island, new york??? With the mountains in the distance and the clear blue water? I love that little lizard, but what is it doing in long island?? The books use so many real locations and specific places to tie these ancient stories into the modern world. I love the urban fantasy approach to mythology. It's jarring and disappointing that they stuff this pocket of greece-canada-hybrid into New York.
^Despite how that sounded I am not all that upset about it, and it is a small part of the show.
