I was in a house with many rooms. The sea sweeps through the house. Sometimes it swept over me, but always I was saved.

no, no, I was just thinking about how so much of your perception is informed by the assumption about which way the world bends. Does it bend towards your ultimate good? Or is it out to get you? Or is it something you have to bend towards you in order to get the good out of it?And that's the premise of Piranesi. His assumption is that he is the beloved child of the house. His assumption is that the house's kindness is infinite. So even as he's learned to figure out the unique threats and challenges of the house, his assumption is always that the house will provide a way. And he finds ways to survive because he's LOOKING for it. He's looking for it on the assumption that it's there. And because of that he's a student of the house in a way that The Other could never be because The Other was there for what he could take and extract from the house. He wants to take from the house, but he's also scared of it because he neither understands nor loves it.

Being in a group chat with a bunch of mentally ill girls who suck at taking care of ourselves is really funny. We’ll constantly be giving each other advice like “hey you should probably eat something” “have you taken your meds today?” “if you’re not feeling well maybe you should get some sleep” and stuff like that and then none of us have the self awareness and self respect to take the advice we give each other until we we hear it from someone else

I took my little brother (autistic, mostly non verbal) out and he was using his voice keyboard to tell me something, and this little boy (maybe 4 or 5?) heard him and asked me "Is he a robot??" I tried to explain to him that no, he isn't a robot, he just communicates differently, but my darling brother was in the background max volume "I am robot I am robot I am robot I am robot"
