My last day!

My first morning shift, 

This is my first time having a morning shift and all of our pax were international and a lot of them were going to play golf. When directing them through the counters they’re so thankful because they’re treated very good. Pax that going to Punta Cana are getting check in our kiosk and we help them through the process. All of our pax are very thankful to us because they can check in without stress because we are helping them and doing the ticket tags on their bags. Some pax were as well sharing their pass on how stress they are when checking in because they needed to figure out what to do next and they need it to read all the levels too.The other staff are so helpful too when I direct pax to counters because they have an extra print baggage tag and needed for cancellation. Having my friends Danny and Jen in my morning shift is the best, because we motivate each other while on shift. We had fun and enjoyed our placement. Thank you so much, Air Transat for having us and having the opportunity to learn and experience the work in Aviation Industry. ❤️

Another blessed, I’ve got to handle the domestic arrivals alone but if there’s any missing bags or damaged bags. I will just call them and they will come and handle it for the pax. At the same time, they handle different situations and still be there and help pax through the reports even though they’re still handling the other situation. They will explain the situation to the pax for them to feel that their problem is not being neglected and would feel relieved at the end. Passengers' only wish is to get their bags right away because they don’t stay here for too long and yet they don’t have their stuff to use it. Us the ground staff will lessen their thoughts of not having their baggage within 24 hours. So our pax will have an enjoyable stay in our country.

Accomplishment <3

November 19, 2019

My first time to take over the domestic arrivals. I was alone monitoring the pax throughout the arrivals and if there’s pax that have lost and have damaged I’ll call my coworkers right away to take make reports. They let me do it alone because they are really busy on the other side. I am thankful to them because they’ve trusted me and they know that I can do it alone. I made a mistake but they told it wasn’t a mistake because they did it as well before. Thank you for cheering on me on my journey throughout my placement. It was funny that I have the guts now to do stuff alone and I've enjoyed it. Being alone wasn’t a big deal because I know they are guiding me as well.

Departure <3

The day they let me go and help with Kiosks, I’m so happy and so eager to help and assist passengers but all our hard work had paid off because when I see passengers so happy after we have helped them they are thankful to us. In the Kiosk, we help passengers to check-in and help them throughout the process. Checking in passengers who're flying domestic were being asked of IDs or passports, itinerary, booking references, and boarding pass if they have already checked in online. we helped them recheck it's not expired and international flights are being asked for passports. We tag their bags, and direct them to the drop-off, and direct where is the Security area. I got used to doing it and sometimes I am so fast and I can’t even feel that I have a paper cut on my hands. When I was my hands and I would right away feel it instinct. All this hard work pays off when I see passengers smile so happy. Sometimes, I checked my adults and they can’t even know to do it and they are telling us that it has easy if an agent always helps them checked in like we’re doing. We love assisting passengers and as well have fun at the same time. Some of my classmates to the DCC and OPS have visited us to the Kiosks because they wanted to see what kind of work does for Kiosks too. I love seeing my classmates because we encourage each other’s and cheer up one another.

Terminal 3 <3

My biggest moment while in my placement is being at the customs hall. I love watching and learning new stuff while watching my team helping with passengers. What I like the most about being in the customs hall is when the passengers arrive at the hall, and my team needs to do the announcements I am so in love with their voice. I am so proud of them and I have learned some of their technics how to announce it. Being in the customs hall was my biggest challenge because I have to be attentive and assist passengers as well as watching carefully my teammates in every move they make. I love watching them working because being on the counter as one of them makes me feel amazed and I’m thinking at the same time I CAN DO IT AS WELL. I said to myself, If they let me handle this alone I think I can monitor the passengers as well if their so busy and I’m willing to help them anytime. Of course, if they let me do it alone, they will still do it the reports because we don’t have access to computers, but I can call them if any passengers needing assistance.

My squad at Baggage Support!

First of all let me introduce my co-workmate, as well as my classmates. Ralph, and Tara, but most of the time Tara and I have the same shift. I like working with her because she’s not the shy type and she’s intelligent. We have in common, we both love to help answer questions of the pax. It was great working with her when we’re helping the team at Domestic Hall. She and I got along so well, and we do everything we could to help the team and as well have fun together while we are in our placement. Being in Air Transat I don’t feel I bored because helping passengers is one of my favourite parts in my days in the Domestic Hall. I love how my team assists passengers with bags throughout the of the reports.

Having our scarf moments!

A few weeks later, they gave us a scarf. I am so happy when I heard we’re having a new scarf and it’s not just scarf but it’s Air Transat scarf :) When the day they’ve given us the scarf I felt so proud because they are treating us special. Tara and I took the scarf from Ravi and proudly having tied to our neck. YEY! I LOVE Air Transat.

YEY! Another shift <3

My second shift, Marina taught me how to match the lost & found items, contact pax if match found to confirm P/U dates arrangements, answer any incoming calls, reference WT files to better answer pax enquiries, assist the team with domestic arrivals/ with any retagging of bags/ delivery of bags to oversized  and collect OHD bags from SWP orphan room. She has taught me and arranged the lost and found a cabin to easily finds and match the items.

My first shift <3

Back when the day of my Orientation, I met Sir. Ravi who was our coordinator throughout my placement, then we met Mrs. Marina which my Supervisor, and my two workmates: Dawn and Andrea. It was nice meeting them. The day goes by and finally, my first shift has come. I have learned the DFI ( Daily Flight Information) They use DFI daily in the Baggage Department to see the arrival schedules both International and Domestic. Through DFI it indicates the A/C Reg, A/C Type, Inbound and outbound schedules that indicates their Flight number, Origin, STA/ETA, ATA, PAX OFF, CNX OUT, And ITD. Through DFI I can identify which flight will arrive and what time are they scheduled and if a flight is delayed they will indicate in the DFI. Of course, the arrival time can change if there’s delayed occurs. After a few hours, arrivals in Domestic Hall has come. I’m so excited and quite nervous. A few minutes, Flight from Montreal had departed, I thought there is no missing baggage and here the PAX came from Montreal. He was so anxious that he can’t find his bag and when the agents help him. My agents receive an email that the PAX baggage is still in Montreal and it hadn’t flown yet to YYZ. He got mad and of course, he can’t express himself to us because he can’t speak much in English and he started to yell and asking for French Speakers and we’re like Sorry Sir, no one speaks French here. Suddenly, he asked if anyone speaks Spanish and my coworker knows how to speak Spanish and a few seconds he started yelling to us and my agents was like: Sir, we can’t do anything about it right now. It’s not your fault and right now we’ve received an email but they didn’t say why your baggage stayed there so, for now, I’m going to have your information and we will make a report about it. Okay. He understood but he was upset and I felt bad. But my co-worker did a great job in dealing with the situation. It was a great experience because I’ve got to learn to solve problems in different situations.
