Theme for 2021: Act now: end child labour!

Child Labour’ is work performed by a child that is likely to interfere with his or her right to education, or to be harmful to their health or physical, mental, spiritual, moral or social development. All work done by children under the age of 15 and dangerous work done by children under the age of 18 is illegal.

The Significance of this day is to pay attention towards the problem of child labour and to spread awareness about the harmful mental and physical problems faced by children forced into child labour, all over the world.

Poverty is often cited as the main cause of child labour. It is widely believed that families will not be able to cope if their children do not work. Precisely the opposite is true: child labour maintains poverty.

Experience shows that deep-rooted social norms, the violation of workers’ rights, discrimination against certain groups, and a poorly-functioning education system are the main reasons why children aren’t attending school.

Children are easy to exploit and are cheap labourers, they are hired in preference to adults. Child labour thus leads to lower wages and higher unemployment among adults. Children who work and do not go to school will end up in low paid jobs later, and so will their children – and so the vicious cycle of poverty is perpetuated.

The difficulty of tasks and harsh working conditions create a number of problems such as premature ageing, malnutrition, drug dependency etc. Victims of child labour usually suffer from depression and anxiety, pushing them to destructive habits like smoking, alcoholism or drug abuse. there is no decent work for adults; we have not done enough to stop it. But there are few ways to stop it and they are :-

Parental awareness

Effective and better laws

Children’s enrolment in schools

Supporting the NGOs like Saving the child labour

Share your time and money.

Child labour is a global problem that requires a global solution.!!

THE WORLD OCEAN DAY

So , Today is THE WORLD OCEAN DAY , which is celebrated on June 8.

The theme for World Oceans Day 2021 is “The Ocean: Life and Livelihoods”. The aim of this year's campaign is to "shed light on the wonder of the ocean and how it is our life source, supporting humanity and every other organism on Earth".

The purpose of the Day is to inform the public of the impact of human actions on the ocean, develop a worldwide movement of citizens for the ocean, and it also inspires people around the world to share ideas about the issues impacting the ocean life. It also inspires people to take some concrete action in terms of preservation and conservation of oceans.

The ocean is like an entirely separate world. There are trenches, mountains, volcanoes and lakes and rivers. Most of the oxygen in our atmosphere comes from tiny marine plants in the ocean. Scientists estimate they're responsible for around 70 percent of the atmosphere's oxygen, according to National Geographic.

They also provide s hydroelectric power so that we can't have any shortage of electricity.

Oceans are deteriorating more rapidly due to rapid increase in carbon dioxide level. There is also global warming due to which oceans are being harmed. The ocean is also harming because of rapid decrease in oxygen level on earth. The continuing throwing of Industries waste into oceans which cannot be decompose for thousands of years.

Above all, we need a common framework for action and commit ourselves to its conservation. We must work together to avoid ocean-harming and ocean-exploiting products, consume safe and sustainable seafood options. All these would help conserve and preserve the oceans. The ocean is our collective responsibility.

MY FIRST BLOG..!!

I always wanted to write blog …the most exciting thing that you can do here is express yourself, your feelings ,your views and a lot of things in writing. So here I am.

On the other hand, I'm afraid that I can't even think of anything terrible or deep to say. But please - dear reader, viewer, friend - whoever you are - be patient. I will definitely try to discuss the good things.
