Went to a clothes shop last week and saw a shirt that had some shit like "Paris, Bonjour♡" written on it, also with lot of French stereotypical stuff.

I got it, found a tshirt painting ink, added a guillotine, Robespierre, and a "Révolution Française♡"

Not too perfect, but enough to make people go "what the fuck".

could you please tell us what "the infamous sj bath" is? i don't think i've ever heard of it

Sometimes in March 1794, Saint-Just moved into an apartment with a bathroom. This was a very modern, (borderline) luxurious thing. His political opponents used this to demonstrate Saint-Just’s indulgent, aristocratic, decadent nature, because who the fuck can afford (need?) such a luxury. Surely this is not in line with the Republican values and virtue that he talks so much about.  Here is a great article (in French, but google translatable) about Saint-Just’s housing in Paris. And another one here (also in French).  But wait. There’s more. During the Dantonist trial, there was a comment made about “Chinese baths of Saint-Just” (during the whole discussion over Danton spreading Camille’s secret of “private and shameful vices”). The whole thing is summarized here (in English): Private and Shameful Vices and The Debate Continues. 

There are some serious sexual undertones there, and I am not sure if the two (bathroom in the apartment and Chinese baths) refer to the same thing. In any case, Saint-Just’s bathroom and this whole thing was often mentioned by many people (his contemporaries and later, including historians), to the point of being a notable thing associated with him.

tl;dr: Saint-Just had a bathroom in his apartment and was mocked for it; there also seems to be something more about the whole bath thing that hints at sexual stuff (of the illicit kind) but Danton didn’t spill the tea on it, so it’s a mystery.
