hello again

I’ve been gone for ages and it feels really weird that there’s an album out because I haven’t been able to get myself pumped up about it as lately I’ve been seriously out of the loop with perfume like i didn’t know Let Me Know was coming or anything. I’m currently trying to figure out a way to listen to Future Pop, it’s so weird that I went from being one of potentially the first to listen to CE and then I’m going to be one of the last to listen to Future Pop 😭 I hope you’re all well, I’ve been trying to get back in the swing of everything for a while now bc obviously I love and care about perfume and y’all!

Perfume’s sixth studio album, “Future Pop”, to release on August 15th

Perfume have announced the release date of their upcoming album, “Future Pop”, for August 15th.

The album collects all six tracks from the three 2017-18 singles, “TOKYO GIRL”, “If you wanna”, and “Mugen Mirai”, in addition to six brand new songs. The album releases in four editions: a Regular Edition with either DVD or Blu-Ray, or Limited with either DVD or Blu-Ray, with a sticker bonus.

Why I think perfume is performing at the 2020 Olympics and why it would be great. (this will be kinda long sorry)

First of all I want to start this off with I have no hard evidence that this is going down. BUT if you pay attention to everything goin on with Perfume and even the things around the group. There are little details sprinkled around that would suggest that this could be a possibility.

Reason 1: It takes place in Tokyo. DUH. Not only that but as one of Japan’s leading artists for years now it would only make sense to pick Perfume. Now I know there are many other groups that are as successful or even more successful than Perfume. However I do believe that with Perfume’s electronic pop sound they definitely have a more world wide appeal. This would definitely make them more appealing to viewers.

2. NHK has been putting these girls ON for the past month or so. To those that don’t know NHK is a massively huge Japanese broadcast that is responsible for a lot of Japanese viewing. With this being said each year since 2012 NHK has invited perfume to perform a live show while also showcasing something new with their technologically advanced live shows. This in turn puts them at the forefront of Japanese broadcasting while getting to showcase the best of their performances. But recently NHK released a website dedicated to showing each of these performances as a means to say “Hey, this is what Japan is really about and this is how we would like the world to see us.”

3. The 2016 Rio Olympics closing ceremony was a huge display of rhizomatiks. Created by Daito Manabe, Rhizomatiks is in charge of producing all of the amazing visuals at all of Perfume’s live shows. The fact that they graced the Rio stage at all is a huge sign. Rhizomatiks is nothing without perfume and vice versa. The two go hand in hand. It was as if to only give a taste to what they have to show in the coming years.

4. Perfume’s “music video” for Fusion with Docomo. In the same fashion that NHK is choosing these girls to be their top source for entertainment, Docomo also signed on with their decision to give Perfume the opportunity to show off their new technology. Again, a Japanese company saying that this specific Japanese group is good enough to head their advertising says a lot.

5. They already have something planned for 2020. They won’t say exactly what it is, but I have a huge feeling that the Olympics is what this next big event is all about.

6. The girls have dreamed of performing in front of such a large audience and it would mean the world if they could represent Japan in such a big way.

7. These girls have shown us countless times that they are more than capable. Honestly picking anyone else would feel like an insult at this point. Watching Perfume grow from their acting school in Hiroshima and performing in local stores to where they are today. I can’t think of a group that has been as dedicated to their craft and more determined. We all know how many times Perfume’s sound has changed sometimes for the better and others the… Not so better. But all these changes in sound are there because we were watching them move and shift and grow as a group. And even today we still have certain eras we like over others. But all of this is a testament to how much they are willing to do in order to not only stay relevant but just give us something different and new with each release.

8. Pixar has put them in the movie Cars 2 and Disney Japan is planning on using the a song Electro World for their show technologia school of magic.“ And as I write this I’m remembering how many collaborations Perfume has already done with Disney. What I’m trying to say here is that they’ve already worked with the best. They are at the top of their game and not to be rude and push to the side other Japanese groups but you just don’t see this type of work from them. Everyone has their eyes on Perfume right now and it would seriously be a mistake to not take this opportunity to amaze the world.

(update) Going to the NHK website I actually just read that they indefinitely have something for 2020 in place. “as they approach 2020” Somethings going on here.

But ya, I really hope I get to see the girls live in front of millions. I’d lose my god damned mind. What do you guys think?

i just found this video and it really reminded me why I love perfume, their performances aren’t just performances they’re experiences and you don’t find artists around here doing shows this jaw dropping and innovative, and if I were to be a music artist I think I would try and do something similar
