I had an Imperial called Thom, that I got for a breeding project. His job got done but I kinda got attached since I don't have that many bright and fiery dragons so I played around a bit with Morphology and got a decently handsome Guardian boy. And it just so happens that an old story of mine, about a perfectly ordinary night shift for Orestes, featured a one time NPC, who's not an NPC anymore, because Thom got reborn as Kelvan.
Kelvan is one of the traders at the Keep Marketplace. He began working at the Clan kitchens, saving most of his wages and learning all he could about the basics of food preparation to realize his dream, his own shop at the fancy part of the Market. Later on he traveled around a bit on his birthplace at Scarred Wasteland to perfect his recipes and preparation methods he remembered from his childhood and now owns a modest but increasingly popular shop, selling aged and fermented delicacies of all sorts.
Winning over Tangled Wood residents to his offerings wasn't too difficult, since as a neighboring land they're somewhat familiar with the cuisine already. Many visiting traders from Scarred Wasteland are also grateful for a taste of home on their travels. Still, for many Kelvan's wares are just rotten and moldy foodstuffs and his road to realizing his dream is a tough one.

Oh hi there! This blog is now under my personal main, @oh-yes-i-did-not
My FR main, @pewpewdragons is, as of now, inactive and functioning as an archive. I might bring it back for Furvilla or Mythaura stuff some day but personally I don’t have any need for a general FR blog outside my lore blog anymore.
My personal main is a mess but that’s where any follows and likes will be coming from.

It found a place, dark and dry. Still cold, too cold, but better than before, better than the caves. It was just making itself at home when a yelling dragon appeared. At first the yelling dragon seemed to run and go away and leave it alone but then it came back and BAM, it doesn’t remember what happened next, until it woke up inside a thing, like a box in shape but made of metal and with very weird walls that didn’t protect from elements. The yelling dragon was there, not yelling anymore, but mumbling. It couldn’t understand a word.
It considered breaking the weird box and either eating the dragon or leaving back to the safety of the cave. Or maybe both? The dragon had meat other than itself though, it could smell it. It pushed its head out of the box and the dragon yelled again but didn’t leave this time but gave it the meat. It went back into the box, happy. The dragon kept its distance.
It lived in the box for a while. Leaving was an option but the dragon kept bringing meat and it kept eating it. But it had to stretch itself at one point, leaving the box to do so and the dragon yelled again, very loudly. It could not understand the noises and it was annoying so it yelled back. The dragon shut up and it went back into its box.
Later the dragon seemed to want it to come out of the box so it did. Then it went after the dragon and out of the dark place. It was too bright so it went back into the dark. It was freezing cold in there but light was worse. The dragon tried again and it didn’t want to but the dragon had meat so it went. It was not bright this time. And it was warm, so warm. There was meat and warm and not light and it purred happily.
One day, sitting in a warm room, in a warm lap, the dragon said a word many times, pointing at it. “Kiel? Kiel.” It had no idea what it meant but the dragon seemed happy with it.
...
So anyways, Fane found a shade monster in his medicine cellar, hit it on the head with a shovel and accidentally managed to make a purring lap kitty out of it.

Fane is a good doctor, but also very bad, it depends on what you come to him with. He knows what he is doing and is very professional until you bring him something he’s never seen before. His curiosity and need to research can vary from just slightly overbearing pressure to let him poke some more to down right obsessive need.
But the thing is, since magic is a thing, the fields of anatomy and medicine are basically non-existent outside some niche old tomes from ancient times that archaeology has unearthed. Fane has encountered few other dragons just as interested in the subjects and remains in constant correspondence with all of them but they are the first ones, they are the pioneers who are discovering the field.
He may have some past personal issues with magic and magic users (Witches) that made him distrustful of magical healthcare and drive him forward in his research, but also make him somewhat blind to the fact that the Witches have a lot of herbal knowledge that he could benefit from sharing on. He also may or may not be a contributor to some of the newer and more anatomically informative editions of the classic book Dragon Breeds of Sornieth and Their Breed Characteristics.

Lore by Other Clans
Hello! Surprise! I'm trying to compile a list of links to organize lore by other clans to spread and give back to a community that's been really supportive of me and my lore. That's what that post I made earlier before finals was for.
This is just a list of organized lore I could find mainly from people who've responded to my post. If I missed you or you have lore of your own you'd just like to share, PLEASE FEEL FREE to add on your lore in the reblogs/replies! This is meant to be a positive community post, and I want us to celebrate all the work we've done for our clans!
@kc-rising https://kc-rising.tumblr.com/tagged/My%20Lore
KC has a number of lore groups, and I am particularly fond of the Neon Fangs! What a cool aesthetic and take on lightning flight.
@fr-jedicreed https://fr-jedicreed.tumblr.com/tagged/Bio
Jedi has some really beautiful dragons, and is sharing lore in the form of finished bios on tumblr. The idea of a tiered city is also particularly unique and interesting.
@goannafr https://goannafr.tumblr.com/tagged/sunflower%20fields%20clan
Goanna has some entertaining and well written lore! I particularly love Rattlin' Bones. Lots of great art and writing- go check this clan out!
@primrose-fr https://primrose-fr.tumblr.com/tagged/Sornieth%20Adjacent
This is just a small piece of Primrose's work, but she's done a lot of fantastic pieces of art. There's a lot of great art and lore with this clan!
@chaosnebula https://chaosnebula.tumblr.com/tagged/kaleidoscope%20clan%20lore
Chaos has some great and neat lore. I'm particularly in love with Construct... what a perfect little assistant!
@mask-fr https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/3079781
I will constantly rep Mask's lore... I really like reading it! Go check out Bittersap's lore thread, as Mask has been putting a lot of work into it. Great art and interesting worldbuilding!
I'm also going to be reblogging individual lore posts by others! Please show lore writers/artists some love, they put a lot of work into personal projects for not much recognition.

So funny thing, I actually completely forgot to share that fic in here or anywhere, tho I posted it on ao3 in March :D
Anyways, here is https://archiveofourown.org/works/29807925/chapters/73334133
And since it’s one of the rare writings of mine that got an actual comment(!!!), I will strive to write continuation, though that works as a good standalone introduction to these two as is.

Quick ref post for Nido and Os for linking to fic and any other later use. Their dragons aren’t really… look accurate when it comes to lore cause I’m super lazy. Just there to tell they’re both very blue.
Nido is something like 160 or so, Os is in their 70′s. Human years would be past 70 and somewhere between 30-35. Tho witches age slower so Nido is more like in her 50′s in human years.

Throne of Vjalen
It's been ages since I last made a lore post so I'm a bit dusty with my own tagging system and all that but anygays, this is important. Because SHE
Cathania, Cat, mom to Dhaleil aka Orestes, my boy Ori. She's the queen of my Ice side clan Vjalen and I've been breeding for these very specific colours for YEARS bc she needed to be exact lookalike of Orestes when he was still a Skydancer, just older, aged beyond her years because of her grief for her lost son and the sacrifices she has made, trying to find him.
This was a multigenerational breeding project that finally ended up giving me nest with two dragons with the colours I wanted. And well, I couldn't give up either, so in comes HE
Cazeolath, Caz, Cat's brother and Dhaleil's uncle. He's the next in line for the throne and absolutely doesn't want it. He has a comfortable life and while smart, the whole ruler thing feels daunting. He would rather use his brains for theoretical things and literature. It might be a bit selfish motive but finding Dhaleil is just as important to him as it is to his sister.
But then, since the breeding project took so long and I got so many pretty dragons out of it, Cazeolath was actually already there. Which brings us to HIM
Venican, bc of course I couldn't just kick the dragon formerly known as Caz out of my lair o.O He's now a cousin. Something like fourth in line for the throne and so there will be all this intrigue and plotting in Vjalen bc he too wants absolutely nothing to do with the whole thing, meaning he's also very in for the idea of finding Dhaleil. His parents on the other hand...
And yes yes his parents, Daena and Zeolath, of course I still have them too, not exalted yet so I still have the option to keep them around if I want to :P
Of course none of these dragons is actually on-site related to Orestes bc that boy is already 7 years old and his parent's lair has been dead for years.
Anyways, Vjalen lore is not that fleshed out yet, but I can take it to very different direction from Pergamon bc unlike in most of the realm, Icefield has no oppressive deity presence and strong kingdoms with strong militaries have been able to be born.

I had Zima in my last fic and now I have Nidoreia, two struggling Witches, characters I can write my world lore through. And it's been enlightening. Things I knew but didn't understand with Zima, I think I can now. They're both living at the edges of everything but while Zima knows, is painfully aware of just how unfair the world is, Nido doesn't have that insight, despite being older. And it's not because Nido is naive or expecting wonders. The proper answer is that Nido has no hope.
They have both experienced similar things but while Zima has held on the her ability to say "world is unfair", Nido has just sunken deeper into "what is wrong with me, what did I do wrong?" mindset.

Scenes for Achernar and Spica. Spica’s isn’t perfect but best so far. Achernar’s on the other hand is THE ONE.
Achernar has similar story to Orestes. He was young, beautiful, naïve, and just a bit LOT more arrogant than what was healthy. That cost him dearly in a fight that he couldn’t win but was to proud to back out of. Injured and scarred, he withdrew from the world. Only one he couldn’t force to leave him was his mate, Spica. Their union was an arranged one, as is common for high borns, and to be quite honest Achernar had not paid much attention to her at all. Spica was quiet and timid, never speaking a word unless spoken to first and Achernar considered her boring.
Spica herself on the other hand considered her lucky in her match. She knew she wasn’t a great beauty or a good socialite, nothing like Achernar. Her family’s status was the only thing that made anyone pay any attention to her. She didn’t mind that her mate didn’t pay any attention to her either as long as she finally had her own freedom, too.
After the incident she started to become concerned about him though. He completely shut himself inside his room, doing nothing, seeing no one. As he would not accept any living company, Spica got the idea to get him a mechanical companion. She commissioned Yaroush from a master from Shifting Expanse. The bird was made to match her familiar, Lhiki, with similarly advanced level of intelligence and independence as the living bird.
At first Achernar paid no mind to the “rubbish tin can”. But in time he began to pay attention as his fascination to the mechanics won over the state he had held on for moons and moons. His injuries had healed long ago, he was just doing nothing out of self-pity for the wrong that had been done to him.
Achernar was heavily scarred now though so he would not leave his rooms often but he began to tinker with toys. Simple string toys at first, moving on to more and more complex and mechanical builds as his skills grew. His interactions with Spica grew more frequent too. He needed someone to acquire the materials for him after all. He never even noticed when some small talk started to wiggle its way into their conversations. He hadn’t realized before that his mate had so much knowledge of animal anatomy and how useful that could be to him. Or that she even had any interests at all.
He no longer feels like he was wronged. He was just a selfish young dragon with no regard for anything that didn’t entertain him. But even though his view of himself has changed and it has been decades, he still doesn’t go out. He is still ashamed of his scars and his lost beauty.
Spica on the other hand, though initially hesitant, took over the practical side of Achernar’s work and has grown into an adept business dragon. She is still mild mannered and soft spoken but it is now an exterior that hides strong soul that knows exactly the value of his mates work and how important her own role is in handling the customers, money, and public side of things.
All in all they’re both pretty satisfied with their arrangement. Achernar, while not exactly happy, does find satisfaction with his work, especially after he mastered magic that allowed him to begin working on things like advanced prosthetics that work like a real limb. Spica is free to pursue her own interests and they benefit the business too. At the moment she considers Achernar more of a business partner than mate and it is a sentiment he is relieved for as he’s not anywhere near ready to let anyone quite that close to him.

Avior has a familiar that is a magic divining mirror called Pond. It is not its true name but it won’t allow him to know what that is. Since Avior is a social reject, he also takes this to mean that Pond wishes it would be owned by someone better. Pond has no reason to correct this, not necessarily because it’s true, but because Pond is a divination mirror and knows what is to come. And Pond knows it’s not to interfere. Avior needs to overcome his issues, but it cannot be with magical help. It should happen with his own strength, helped only by his mortal companions.
There are a lot of hopeful thieves of magical items around and Avior with his unruly divination mirror is probably a good target. After all, it takes but a bit of silver tongue to convince an item with a wrong owner to move on. But Pond won’t allow anyone to take it. Not because of what is but what will be.

Giving this scene to the whole Aurigae is gonna take a shit ton of Coli grinding but Gia and Alcie now have it, at least.
Gia has an Arcane Sprite, as would be expected of someone with her talent and status. Her and Shion’s relationship is not as heavily based on friendship as would be usual, and more on mutual benefit and prestige. Shion is a scholar and while Gia was a hard working student, learning it is not her actual passion. Influencing and leading is.
In stark contrast Emphus has been with Alcie ever since he was a hatchling. Gia’s attitude towards her little brother having a “stupid” familiar (non-speaking species) is extremely hard but Emphus is the only thing Alcie isn’t willing to give up, even for his sister. Even if he won’t consciously admit it, he cannot stand the idea of having no else except Gia, no matter how loyal he feels to her.

Finally I can start making my Beastclan/familiar lore a bit more visible on site :)
Kara and Thira are both lore connected to Orestes, but since a dragon can only hold one familiar, Aremaiko is holding Thira. Aremaiko is trader but he knows Orestes because he is mated to Sariafjel, who is also a member of the Guard.
One lore-reason for someone else holding on to Ori’s second familiar would be that Kara and Thira don’t always get along. As a Faun Thira sees Raptoriks as an enemy and most often refers to Kara as “Evil Pigeon.” Aremaiko and Sariafjel also have a lot of kids and grand kids while Orestes is not really parent material, so one Faun cub will fit right in with the family.
Kara herself is not yet comfortable with her new life among dragons, but for her there is no going back. She challenged her pack leader and lost. Kara is lucky to have escaped alive. And one thing she is definitely not comfortable with is Eudoxia. Bladedancers fear and (begrudgingly) respect Ridgebacks, or Bladestorm, in whom they see something that naturally has what they try to create with their attached weapons.
Eudoxia herself sees Kara and Thira more like strays that Orestes has picked up on the way. Thira is just a cub who lost his family, while Kara he found half-dead after her previously mentioned challenge. Thira lives in Pergamon clan while Kara prefers to travel and not be tied to one place, only visiting once in a while.

I thought I might move these two to my Ice clan, Vjalen, in the Hibernal Den. Baudelaire has yet no lore connections except for his boyfriend Zaffre here. Zaffy on the other hand is Vergi and Viriana’s son, but a rebellious one so I don’t see him staying in Pergamon tbh, no matter how involved his parents are with the local politics.
Zaffy is pretty immature and a right spoiled brat so he has a lot of growing up to do. Baudy might not be the best person to help him with that as the poet/secret romance novelist is pretty selfish and fickle himself. But alas, they’re in love. Very loudly and proudly. They also break up about once every two moons, very loudly and proudly. I think only time might mellow them up, but we’ll see.

Oooh, so kinda like anthropodermic bibliopegy? Or... dracodermic in this case, I guess. I like this idea as a sort of darker, forbidden magic~ That sort of magic is usually in a form of a consumable item in my lore so perks of having a permanent items are clear.
@ those of you who enjoy horror-y kinda fr ideas:
Parchment is made of animal skins, right?
So what if there are breed and gene change scrolls of questionable origins, changing owners in secret deals and the black market, which are made of parchment, but parchment that uses the skin of dragons.
Whatever breed you wanna turn into - take the skin of that. Whatever gene you desire - take hide that exhibits that gene. Add some little magic and tell no one the recipe, and you’re in business.
(And why are here no imperial scrolls of this kind either, you ask? Well, are you really the one who would like to handle the skin of a dead imperial?)

Cazeolath
Caz is Cathania’s younger brother and her only sibling actually, making him next in line for Vjalen throne.
When Cathania decided to enter into a union with Dahan of Charass, where she moved to Charass to be Dahan’s queen, it fell to Cazeolath to become the ruler of Vjalen. At that time Caz was not yet of age but the pressure of sickly queen mother and stability of the kingdom was on him, full force. And Caz hated it. The weight of the responsibility was crushing and he just felt too stupid, too simple for any of it. Like he could never live up to the expectations.
Cathania’s union ended less than three years in and Caz was relieved, so relieved. Even though he knows the tragic circumstances of Dahan and Charass, and the mental toll it took on his sister, he is still relieved. Because Cathania back in Vjalen means he’s not on the throne.
Dhaleil’s abduction was almost as huge a tragedy to him as it was for Cathania. Not that he would ever compare the situations out loud but Cathania’s son was supposed to inherit the throne, the place Caz didn’t want. But with the boy gone he is the heir apparent again. And he hates it.
Caz is someone who likes his material comforts but despite what he himself thinks, he’s not stupid. Anyone approaching him with anything political in mind gets “tattled” to Cathania because Caz knows what is good for Caz. And what is good for Caz is anything but the throne.
He might also have a thing for Tykut but no one knows if the queen’s shadow reciprocates, and it has nothing to do with the Guardian being blind and mute.

Hehe, outside of Gaolers I still haven’t really defined my ancients too far so I think my lore will be very flexible for whatever it is we’re going to get~
Also about the new lore and monster Tundras, I’m fucking excited because Ancients are fully a thing in my lore and this makes them a bit less only my own headcanon, though not much still lines up with official lore, me being a gijinka lore clan, and heavy on shapeshifting stuff anyways :P BUT, something else is now a thing! So yay~

Well this blog has been dead for months so no surprises are about to be announced but official word here: my lore is on hiatus. RL things happened and keep happening and I need something else to keep me afloat so I’ve been moving back towards fanfic. Catch me writing that sweet Sebastian/Farmer fluff for now :x
