Jack was the type of kid that was always on the outside looking in. He was the kid who never got adopted and maybe it was all because of who he was. But the siblings he had met along the way, he cared for them. As he got older, he had sought out for them to see just how they were doing. Maybe that was just who he was as a person and that shaped him into the person he was. He didn’t have a family, but the job he had instilled on himself as a firefighter, he knew they had to be like family, and that is exactly what they were. That is why Jack wasn’t so concerned about parents or anyone there for him, when his co-workers were the ones who were there for him. That was until he met someone else.
It was usual the way Jack met this person. Alexia was sitting at the coffee shop, the one he stopped at every time he was heading to work, and on his days off. Because lets face it, Jack wasn’t someone who knew how to do much in the kitchen, and coffee was one of those he never really did. They met up frequently and they got to know one another. That is someone Jack confided in and really just allowed himself to let those walls down that he had built up for so long, in fear of someone really breaking that promise they made to never do that. But something about her he trusted and that is why he allowed himself to talk and he listened to her and felt bad for the bad hand she was dealt when it came to being with someone.
They have become so close, that Jack helped her with the birth of her son. He had left when she asked and never asked questions, but they were still friends and really just allowed the two of them to get to know one another again. And just really hope that they can continue those. But with the bond that the both of them had, that helped Jack and her son Christopher to become close and have a bond that Jack has always craved with someone. Kids, they were sort of Jack’s forte being he always wanted sibling and just wanted to make a kid feel like he has never felt.
But tonight was different, everything wasn’t the same, as he got a call that he didn’t want to get. He heard the pain in her voice, and just knew something had happened. Jack had dropped everything and he knew he had to get there and make sure she was okay. He was good under pressure, but when it was someone he knew and someone he was close to, he wasn’t so sure how he could do this. But he did what he knew to do and that was go where he was needed and right now Alexia needed him. As he entered the house, he seen her and he felt his heart drop. He knelt down wanting to wake her up so they can get out and he can get her the help she needed.
Once she came to just enough to tell him they needed to get out of there. He looked around and checked her for everything to make sure he wasn’t going to hurt her when he stood her up. He didn’t want to damage her more. “I need you to sit up for me. Slowly, because I need to make sure nothing is wrong that will hurt you more. Because if I move you without checking, then there can be something else wrong.” Sighing low, Jack was freaking out on the inside and he just wanted to do this right. “Where is Christopher?” That was his other concern is making sure her son was safe and that he didn’t see anything he shouldn’t have seen.

Jack didn’t always have a good life. He was in and out of foster homes. He really didn’t know who his real mother and father were. Maybe it was for the best, he wasn’t sure. Because he didn’t really know anything about his past. All he knew was that no family ever really wanted him in the way he needed. Maybe that is what caused a lot of his issues when he got older. When he was a teenager, he had a good home. He was with siblings for the first time in so long, and that meant he was someone finally. But then, their house got burnt down, and he was separated from his family. That is what changed his path more then he will ever admit. He could have been into trouble and he changed it.
Becoming a firefighter wasn’t something he wanted when he was younger. But when he lost his family and he was put in a different home until he was eighteen and old enough to take care of himself, he was at station 19 before he knew it. With someone he didn’t think he would ever meet. and for once, she had friends. Some he didn’t think understood him and they were like family to him. So Jack finally fit into a world that looked down on him when he was struggling. He thought he was ready to marry Andy. He was ready yo settle down and be with her, but things changed as well. She fell for someone else and Jack, he wasn’t really looking for anything.
People thought he was overreacting, but seeing the woman he loved moving on was hard. He had Dean and he was like his brother and they have talked a lot and had late nights and just he was able to talk about all the things he was thinking. But little did he know, his Starbucks run would change the way he sees everything. He was always on and off shifts but Starbucks was really his only thing that he kept going. That is when he met @labilevisionary. She was there as well, and every time he was there, she was there and they sat in the same places and just got to know one another. She was interesting and didn’t look at Jack different and he didn’t her. She was nice and she was just interesting to talk to. They had a lot in common it seemed and Jack wanted to get to know her more.
But seems work has always come first and that can interfere with him seeing Alexia. Maybe it was him just getting used to her being there all the time when he went to get coffee. But Jack was working the night shift with his team, and on his way in, he stopped and got a coffee at the Starbucks he has been to many times. This was a quick visit, as he wasn’t sitting, he was on his way to work, and he got his coffee, and took a drink before he left the coffee shop and he on his way to the station. He wasn’t the last one there, but when he got there seems everyone else was ready but him. These shifts are usually slow if they don’t jinx themselves. The night shift was relatively quiet that night, and he was lounging around and snacking on some fruit when his phone rang. Seeing her name, he picked up immediately.
Hearing her words, and not really understanding just what she was saying, he knew it was bad and he checked out from the station early and drove out to her place. He was worried and expected the worst. Maybe that was all just him trying to make sense of everything. But as he pulled up into her driveway, not wasting any time and with what time it was, it didn’t take him long, and he turned his truck off hopped out of the truck and ran to the front door and twisted the knob seeing it was unlocked and he slowly opened the door. “Alexia.” Letting her know it was him and not hearing anything, he opened the door more and seen her laying there and he knew something bad happened. Closing the door and running over to her and kneeling down and looking her over. “Alexia, please wake up. What happened. Can you tell me?” He just wanted to see if she would wake up. He shook her lightly just to see if that would wake her, but not wanting to move her until she was conscious.
This was bad, and he didn’t know what to think. He didn’t know what happened and he wanted to make sure she could move before he scooped her up and took care of her and got her the help she needed.
