My brand

In this project, it is about myself and my brand, and I would like to explain my brand in here.

In here, the whole thing is about myself which is about my brand, because of what I want to do is promote myself and my art to the public to let them understand and know who am I and what I do, so samply the whole project is me explaining and introducing myself and making myself to a brand, so I can build around it and promote myself, if I have to conclude the whole project in a short sentence, it will be:

The brand in the project= Myself, Kai, as a illustrustor.

Brand guidelines/ style guide

Because the issue I had you can see the logo is a bit blurred and pixel, becasue I putted it into photoshop to remove the background. Same with the fonts because the fonts I chose before no longer exit in my computer, so I am forced to change to font, what I did is just look through the selection of fonts and chose the one fit the criteria.

For the colour palatte, you can see I used is blue and yellow from the vtuber that I like, and I post their colour palette before, the orange and red it directly from the Drangon Ball which I put as a star.

Here are all the mockups I did for the checklist, which include business card, water bottle, mailbox, letterhead, T-shirt and hoodie, I just put my logo up there and see how it looks like, I think my logo doesn't look too serious which I think it makes the letterhead a little bit off, and all the mockups I think the worst is the water bottle it looks not right, I wouldn't put that big a logo in the water bottle, if I am going to make one.

The reason why I use mockups rather than make it myself is just because it safe more time and effort, but at the same it can show you the product you want to make with your design on it which is a good thing for me, because the mockups is already struchture and layout properly, which mean there will be less error and mistake.

And because the issue I had before, I couldn't find my logo in illustrator, so I just use the logo I posted before which make the logo on these mockups and my brand guideline look a bit blurred.

Another issue I had when I am doing this at home is I lost my final design of my logo, it didn't save to the cloud which make me I can't find the file

I am trying to finish the brand guidelines, but I don't know what happen, I opened the file at home and it said the fonts that I select no long exit in my computer, so I guess I have to change it and re-do it again.

And because of that and the time I have left to finish this project, I think I will just do the same thing like I said, just play around with the fonts to see which one looks good to me, but in a faster way.

I trying out different fonts to see which one fit and look how I want it to be I have to select three type of fonts for heading, sub-heasding and bodytext.

And for those font that I select there are no particular reason why I chose them, I am just playing around with them to see which one look the best to me for what I want.

And here is the final design of my logo, didn;t change that much, I just change the colour, you will see it in the brand gruidelines of what is the code of the colour, and I put a star on the dot, inspired by the Drangon Ball.

After the animation I want to finish off my logo, so I layed out the vtubers colour palattes and you can see most of them have common colour which is blue and yellow, makes me confirm that my logo will be blue and yellow.

For the Drangon Ball I want it to be the dot on top of the pen because as you can see in previous design there is a ball or dot, so I might put a star in it, make it look like the Drangon ball but not exactly.

This is the finish product of the animation, I took differnet people opinions into this design, such as the movement of the pen is recommended by my classmate, he said because is a pen so do some twisting of the pen make it seems like it is drawing or writting.

For the dot, I want to make it like a basketball bouncing and that's what I did, but I think the bouncing is kind of stiff, not too smooth.

After fixing those problem I made two verions of my logo, one is use in a white or lighter backgroup, the other one is use in a black or darker backgroup

I want to mention that this version is after correction, the old version I didn't sceenshot it, but what happened is after finishing the animation, some feedback is the pen doesn't look like a digital tablet pen I look more look a normal pen, so I added the two buttons that digital tablet pen has.

Today, in the lesson we are going to do animation, so I want to fill the colour for my logo first, becasue I don't want to leave it black and white, so I chose the Gold State Warriors colour palatte, the reason why I chose it ois because in my mind I got some colour I want to try it out and the colour blue and yellow is the most common and repeat one, also I like the combination of blue and yellow.

As you can see in those two sceenshot, the problem I said before it happened, basically it just because the line is not grouped, they are not attach together, so when I want to fill up the colour, it doesn't not fill, it came off, but after that I asked my teacher to help me out to fix it, and the solution is to connect the two ends of two line and group it together.

After all that, I go back to design my logo, and this is how it looks, you can clearly see the digital tablet pen and the dot on top.

However, when I am making it I faced some problems, as you can see in the first one, some parts are not connected, which means it is not a shape, it is a big problem i will face if I don't fix it because the lines are not connected, so when I do the colouring it will not fill the box, but till now I am still not familiar and good at using illustrator, so at this point I am just kind of leaving it there, thinking that at lease I have the shape I want my logo to be, maybe I will go ask someone to help me or I do and do other things on the checklist first.

Here s the checklist of this project that our teacher gave us, in there it clearly said what I have to do and finish, so later on I will start doing that and finish off what the checklist said.

Here is the third moodboard that I made, this is all about vtubers and illustrator. This inspired me the most of my drawing and this is the reason why I start my drawing carrer and keep on going develop myself.

For vtubers I watch the most is the first four of them and I did a lot of fanart for them to learn and develop my skills, the reason why I keep watching is because their personality, streaming atmosphere and their voice, they are all good at singing, so when they release a cover song I always listen to it and keep on replaying.

For illustrator I took inspiration and learnt from all of them, they all have a unqie style, clean lineart and very detailed, texture colouring which I am dreaming I want to achieve.

This is my second moodboard, it is a anime moodboard, which inspire me the most in my art and illustration style, here is some anime that I watched before and you can see here is a lot of them which means it already become a part of my life.

I specifically want to point out Drangon Ball, just like I said in my perious post it is my childhood. Secondly, is the danger in my heart, what make it special is because the drawing skills of the writer keep developing and that catch my eyes a lot, and I am still learning how to draw so I studied the writer drawing skills and techique, the improvement that the writer made is impressive.

Example:

Thirdy, is bocchi the rock the anime is super funny and interesting, the biggest thing that attart me is the art style in some part which become a meme so fast because of that I start to loe that strange but funny art style.

Finally, is frieren the story is super nice, very chill and educational, I like the story and the music so much, of course the art style is another reason, specifically the eyes, it has a clean looking and realistic eyes I haven't seen in a while in anime, and I also took that into my art to develop my style.

Because I mention the game APEX Legend before, I thought I can do some moodboards to introduce myself more, I did three of them this is one of them is the game moodboard, I put the games that I love and I am still playinf till this day.

The first on is Drangon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, this game is lanuched nearly 10 years now, I have played at least 8 years, so this is a big part of my life and have a good impact in my childhood, just like the name of the game, you will know it is about Drangon Ball and I love Drangon Ball, I watched it since I was a kid, it is my first anime and my favorite til this day, so you can say this the reason why I start watching and loving anime.

And the rest of them I think I can talk it though together, the games are Blue Archive, NIKKE, Girls' frontline 2, and Atelier Resleriana, they all have very great story, very interesting and attractive, and the biggest selling point to me is their characters are all beautiful and the art style is wonderful, Blue Archive is very simple but very characteristic, the rest of them are super detailed, it have a 2.5d vipe in their art style, and at the same time they all have 3d models and animation in the game which is impressive.

If we just talk about the art and illustration, I took some many inspiration from them and to develop my skills and drawing.

The reason why I research on them is because the style of game they played and the impact they have, no matter is on the court or off the court, have fully affect me in my life, made me fall in love in basketball. Not just that, also how they treat the game, how they impact the world and the mind set that they have, had educated me over time. However back to perosonal branding I don't think I can include too much elements in this project.

For the logo design, maybe I can use the colour palatte of the team into my logo, beside that I can't think of other things that I can use. Just like I said, so I did the colour palatte for those teams, as you can see they all have a comment colour which is yellow or like yellow orange, because of that I can include this into my colour palatte and make my logo using those colours, but I will have a look first to see is this the deal.

Also, you might think those poses might not make a huge impact on the logo or anything else, but because this project is about me and my brand, and just like I said they all have a huge impact on my life since then, so I think it is worth a mantion and talk about it.
