i think i will jot down the rest of the vague ideas of i have for the daily life arc in feeling sweet since i havent worked on a chapter in about week & i have pretty concrete ideas for the next couple of chapters at least

it’s just a small writing hiatus bc i pumped out a lot over the past few months

minor writers block and mild frustration vs my great wish of wanting desperately to start my atla oc fic have been fighting this past week

tragically they are both losing and i am playing gacha games instead to ignore everything else

I have never seen longchamp in a khr fic and I think thats so powerful of the fandom

elizabeth abraham - an accidental avatar of the end, but what can you do when your family’s been running a mortuary business since the 1890s? something had to give at one point. she’s a sweetheart, so she tends to handle the more social aspects of the family business. even the voices of the dead reach her ears, and they especially like to tell her about either their greatest regret or recount their final moments, depends on which is more mortifying. wanna write more oc fics & since a lot of the series i want to write for are already complete might do a thing where i vaguely outline most of the fic to tide me over until i can manage them steadily. i can’t outline in too much detail bc i get bored & i’m still at my core a plot finer details as i go just in case my mind changes about something

some old-ish khr ocs that i’ve knocking around the potential of using one day. they don’t exist in the same universe due to different takes but i love them both dearly. made here!

luca (left) is essentially a middle sibling to a bunch of half siblings all related to the bovino family head. (i have an somewhat extensive list of them & lambo is the youngest). they are the only sibling that genuinely likes lambo & is lambo’s favorite in turn. goth. hates school bc it’s boring but makes good grades bc they’re that kid. only interested in doing what they want to do but ultimately gets roped into vongola mess when they go to pick up lambo but turns out these weird adults want to send their babiest sibling out to fight a grown assassin.  

naomi (right, tongue sticking out!) is tsuna’s across the street neighbor & has been since elementary school so theyre pals! she thinks he’s sweet and helps him with tutoring sometimes. her and tsuna: hand shake emoji crushes on kyoko; it’s an embarrassing time for the both of them sometimes. bi solidarity!!! she’ll probably be his advisor or something; someone has to have the braincells.

What are your thoughts on Pacifist I-won't-even-kill-this-genocidal-dictator Aang and the probable death count of the Siege of the North? I've seen some authors who are really irritated and force him to confront it, and some authors who say Zhao was the only casualty and brush it off. So, just curious where you land, is all!

Oh he definitely killed a TON of people there. Battleships can have hundreds or even thousands of people on board. On one ship.

Let's be super nice to Aang, and say that Avatar-verse ships are much smaller than in our world: let's give 'em a crew of 50, even including the extra ground troops they'd be carrying to take the city.

Here is their fleet:

There's around 30 ships in that first row. Let's say that first row was all that Koizilla sunk.

Fire Navy crews are generally shown to be wearing metal armor, and these are polar waters which would kill the average person in a few minutes even without the whole "being dragged to their death via their own clothing" thing, so we're just gonna make the math real simple and say "total wipeout on affected ships". Even for the ground troops that had already disembarked from them, since Koizilla was not scooping them up from the streets and dropping them off with blankies and hot cocoa.

So here's a nice range of estimates:

Lowball: 30 ships x 50 dead from each ship = 1,500 dead

Little Bit Yikes: 30 ships x 100 dead from each ship = 3,000 dead

Oh Crap: 30 ships x 500 dead from each ship = 15,000 dead

Ummmmm: 30 ships x 1000 dead from each ship = 30,000 dead

And if he got more ships, say the second row too...

This is Getting Uncomfortable: 60 ships x 50 dead from each ship = 3,000 dead

Does Avatar-Verse Have Therapists?: 60 ships x 100 dead from each ship = 6,000 dead

Could You Pay a Therapist Enough?: 60 ships x 500 dead from each ship = 30,000 dead

Whoopsie-Daisy: 60 ships x 1000 dead from each ship = 60,000 dead

So that's a lovely range of 1,500 to 60,000 dead. Could be higher, but I sincerely doubt it would be lower.

So like. Unless Koizilla did less damage than implied ('cause it's implied that he did a TPK on the fleet, or near enough to cause an immediate and unconditional retreat), then Aang is probably the single largest individual mass murderer since Sozin.

Do I think he would have done it in his right mind? Definitely not.

Do I think the tiny child with godlike powers should grapple with the idea that losing control of his abilities can lead to wiping out large swaths of a population in minutes? Oh me oh my yes.

I'm not irritated by this. I'm gleeful.

TL;DR: Why would you ever think I'd side against "morally gray ethical dilemmas in my cartoon-based literature".

yes!!!! you are completely right on all fronts!!!

--one of my preferred hcs is that while the vongola did start off from a genuine vigilantly/good intent place, they couldn’t spin themselves as anything other than a budding mafia gang & *insert history research i need to do about mafia origins* they basically had no choice but to sink or swim in the political climate. giotto was too nice of a person to handle the weight of that, so he handed it off to someone else to manage that change when it got too much for him emotionally and he fled to japan essentially wiping himself clean of it. (basically jaded retiree!giotto and giotto young and fresh and in the ring are two very different sides of the same people) but like i said hc near and dear to my heart. 

--khr literally ends with it being like “tsuna is still the same old loser kid but now he has friends :’)” and I GET THAT??? like definitely a “no matter what happens you’re still you�� deal but i feel like it would have hit harder if khr actually got into “the mafia is actually bad tsuna, but you’re still good and kind no matter what happens” or something like that to make it more genuine bc tsuna is a kind person!! but he’s a kind person that literally going to lead a criminal organization we gotta do something about that outside of the “i’m not as cruel as my enemies so it’s not actually that bad” mukuro wants the mafia gone for a reason and i can’t really blame him for that. 

--i’ve delved into a lot of anime & manga media that’s dealt with the mafia even if it’s just a single arc and i can firmly say khr is the only one that doesn’t take it as seriously as it probably should and even could have??? i guess mainly bc no one wants their sweet shounen protag, in the end, to be like “oh no im going to be a criminal??” but so much could have happened even with the unique aspects of the universe and yet :/

buy my silence or don’t!!! i said i wouldn’t but my will is weak and khr rants really get me going. it got a little longer than i expected. whoops

first!!! generational repetitions to the point where the weapons are even named after the predecessor and people are like “oh just like this old dead guy :’)” just feels like lazy writing me. and the inability to see how things are different and how the new generation will be better. all the kids got were cooler looking weapons and more power outputs and cute pets.

it’s one thing for tsuna to use the same techniques utilized by giotto since they are related and whatnot it’s another thing entirely for him pull out his old dead grandpa’s cloak like that!!! like what weird shit was happening that the ring and box weapon was like “ah a unique weapon and equipment just for tsuna who is exactly like his old relative :’)”

the only giotto tsuna knows about is the piece of his soul left in that ring, just a little blip in a moment of his life. he gladly takes up the mantle of neo primo bc, of course, giotto is the kindest out of all the bosses, never mind that he doesn’t know anything at all about the vongola as a whole or even giotto before and after that point. it’s completely biased but i also don’t blame him as much as i blame the adults that constantly drew parallels and pushed him towards this role until the only option left in his mind was to accept and be proud of his extremely shady and criminal job now. 

he’s walking in with blind acceptance basically and i feel bad for him actually. it feels as though there isn’t a lot that’s uniquely his and khr isn’t self-aware enough to tap into that, but boy do i feel it. 

also something about tsuna being a melee fist-fighter + flames shooting out of his hand now that i’ve recently thought about it is??? but that’s personal opinion overall.

ok enough about tsuna!!! let’s move onto others but mainly chrome and hibari.

all i have to say about hibari is canon needs to stop trying to convince me he’s a cop bc that boy is just a delinquent rich boy that does whatever the hell he wants bc he’s rude and knows he’s above the law. he just makes his own laws.

I know I talked a lot about tsuna but chrome is really where a lot of bigger feelings come from. I have a lot of feelings about chrome in general. I do not consider mukuro the mist guardian because he repeatedly states how much he hates the mafia and doesn’t want anything to do with it and actually sticks with those feelings. He’s just along for the ride since he cares a lot about chrome and will rend heaven, hell, and earth for her. (I see their relationship as strictly platonic). The whole damn series is literally worth it for her.

Generational parallel in regards to chrome is probably the biggest insult you can give her??? Like did y’all not have an entire fucking arc where the big bad was literally the first generation mist guardian that kidnapped her and emotionally abused and manipulated enma basically his entire life on top of murdering his family!!!! and now you wanna tell me “haha the first and tenth generations are exactly the same” just say you’re ok with giving chrome the short end the stick and go!!!

(enma and chrome are best friends now due to shared trauma and similar temperments and you can take that out of my cold, dead hands. they are my faves.)

The mist earrings look super cute on her though I will admit that but it was super disappointing that she couldn’t activate the final form move/cool powerup even tho, given the track record, it would have probably also been that staff thing. Which would do her a big disservice because chrome’s fighting style isn’t even like a majority of the mist users—she’s definitely more big power outputs and powerful swings and basically uses her trident more like slashing weapon than a pokey one.

Tl;dr. basically it all boils down to lazy writing, khr’s lack of self-awareness, lack of uniqueness for the newer gen so now people will expect them to be literally the same as their predecessors, Hibari isn’t a cop put those handcuffs away, and I’m tired of chrome getting brushed to the side :/

i think one of my top five disappointments with khr is that despite tsuna constantly stating he doesnt want to be a mafia boss nothing was done with it outside of him just complaining??? no deep talk to even convince why he should lead the vongola outside of like regular “you’re the only one bc you’re the protag & it’s the only way to save your friends” type deals. he just kept getting cool power ups until the end when he was like “ok guess i’m the neo primo now :’)” 

(don’t get me started on why i cant stand the repetition between the 1st and 10th gen either)  

then i remember i probably put too much faith in what was a literal gag manga for 60 chapters.

i reread the first one and a half chapters and there are some inconsistencies now (you know it happens since i am mainly plot while writing person/jotting down ideas to use in the future whenever they fit) so i guess i’ll work on housekeeping and ignore all the other writing i probably most definitely need to do
