Look chat I'm a massive fan of all the fluff art of hateflower on Tumblr but can someone else delulu [ /aff ] talk to me about the angst stuff that's put in place by their predetermined positions.

POV of when Gardenview was operational, until I state otherwise.

Dandy is the star of the show, he's untouchable. All of the mains, especially him have privileges the others don't get. Nicer rooms, more privileges, fame, attention. To be fair, he's also significantly more busy and has a handler watching over him like a hawk 24/7.

Shrimpo is the bully, the antagonist. Hell, hes not even a likeable bully. He doesn't have reasons for his spite aside from hatred rooted by something no one can figure out. None of the non main cast gets stuff near as nice as the mains, but especially not the man who's whole job is to make others miserable.

Shrimpo would envy Dandy. He wants what Dandy has. The attention, the friendship, whatever. But he loves him just as much as he hates him, and he hates that he loves him. Shrimpo can't stand Dandys stupid fucking jolly smile, so why does he want to be closer to it? It might be out of spite, it'd be in character. For once, Shrimpo doesn't hate someone. Shrimpo doesn't hate Dandy, he's just resentful. The resentment periodically comes off as hatred, though.

Also the way they'd never be allowed near eachother. There's no way in fucking hell the handlers would let their main attraction anywhere near the known violent bully, or vice versa. Their relationship was built on sneaking to meet eachother at night while glancing at eachother up and down by day.

There's also a small bit of a power dynamic, but shh.

Now, Gardenview shutdown.

Shits hit the fan, the twisteds are loose. Dandys been isolated since the ichor operation, as it was his fault everyone's now in danger. Shrimpo is still cast out, but more for the reason of just being shit at literally everything there is to be shit at.

Dandy doesn't have the social power he had anymore. Is he still strongest from the standpoint of his twisted form and stats? Yes. But he's not the protagonist anymore. He doesn't have the respect he used to.

Shrimpo, well. Nothing changed all that much.

They're on the same level socially now. Dandy is coping with the fact he's no longer the main man, Shrimpo is laughing at him while holding him close. Neither of them is more respected than the other, they're equally as disregarded. But if they're going to be on the bottom step, at least they're there together.

ok heres a really really quick au post bc im moving on to greener pastures at least 4 rn .. so also technically a scrapped au but one i really loved !!!! summary + some slight zoom ins

i have some brainstorm paragraphs ill put under the cut but. the floor basically expands and evolves to be like the following floors. without descending ?? and the twisteds continue to look weirder and weirder until ultimately its just these founder clones. idk. itd eventually evolve into some sort of escape/reboot thing .. idk :P

the founders keys are like. barely thought out. but obvs arthur has the actual gardenview building key so they can Leave. but delilah has the art storage in the same way as when u have to start taking care of your own birth certificate. they have their designs and thus pretty much full control over themselves. i think this could also give the holiday toons year-round existance!!

delilahs tail is i think a lotus. if i remember. because of its life symbolism.

my biggest draw to this au was just making petalprawn really evil and codependent. and theyd be unsettled by some of the other toons afterward because their twisteds were SCARY ASF by the end idk. i just HATE them and want them GONE!!!!!!!!! if any1 likes this au enough feel free to take it over idrc
