Piotr didn’t think it would be okay right away but with Julian’s reassurance, he at least hoped he would get through this hurdle. “Alright. I believe you.” He believed Julian with his whole being. His heart was as big as he was and it beat for Julian so when his boyfriend told him that they were going to be okay, Piotr was given a second chance. “I’m going to vait a month’s time. He has Illyana and now my brrotherr too. They all think he is good but I know he is not. I have seen things, J. I need to be carreful.”
He looked down watching Julian trace his hand feeling the comfort he always seemed to give him but the moment he spoke, Piotr tensed up again. His heart rate picked up at an incredible speed and Piotr took the tags in his hands. How could this be? They were working on opposite sides it seemed. “Julian…I underrstand vhy you did not tell me. I did same forr you. I do not vant my boss to rrope you in orr to hurrt you eitherr. I’d rratherr give myself in beforre all dat. I vant to be vith you too. Morre than I can explain in vorrds. I am not good vith dem as you know. You arre like superrherro In trraining then? Using powerrs forr good. I thought maybe dat vas vat I vas doing but I vas wrrong.” Piotr pulled Julian in for a large hug and buried his face into Julian’s neck. “Thank you forr telling me, J. Ve vill make dis vorrk. It is my prromise and the best thing I can give you rright now is my vorrd.” His hands instinctively felt against his jean pocket where the box he had been carrying with him for weeks was in. It was not the time. Not until he faced Fisk. “I love you so much, Julian.”
A small frown tugged down at the corners of Julian’s lips as he squeezed his boyfriend’s hand slightly. “I love you too.” He echoed. A haunting feeling of nausea had over come him as he listened, not knowing what to say at first. His instincts had already made him cautious of Piotr’s employer but he had wished for once that it was wrong. “I see.” Julian muttered silently. Turning his gaze to the front of him as if he was staring at something that wasn’t there , Julian leaned against Piotr’s shoulder and placed his free hand over their joined ones. “It’s going to be okay. We’re going to be okay.” He finally spoke. Julian understood what it felt like to find out an employer was not all as they appeared and he knew those were situations that one could not simply back out on with severe repercussions. “I’m not going to leave you in this alone. We’re going to figure this out.”
Pursing his lips for a moment Julian then began to trace the faint hints of veins in Piotr’s hand. “I… have something to tell you too. About my employer.” He sighed lightly. Shifting slightly, Julian then lifted a hand away from Piotr’s before reaching under his shirt, pulling his dog tags from over his head and held them out so they could be seen. On each tag was his information pressed into the metal accompanied SHIELD emblem. “I… work for SHIELD. A field agent in training.” Julian explained hesitantly, “I never told you before because I thought it would be the best way to keep you safe. Especially when I ended up in the hospital. But now. I mean… I want to be with you, Piotr. For a long time. So you have to know everything.”
#Julian#\\I'm so sorry this is a a whole month late but I needed to reply to this for story reasons#also hello french fry!

Mama...I killed a man
Tagging: Piotr Rasputin, Illyana Rasputina and Mikhail Rasputin Location: Piotr and Julian’s apartment|Hell’s Kitchen,NY Time Frame: Evening, 5/8/2016 General Notes: Axrpg prompt
“Herre lies Alexandrra Rrasputina.” Piotr murmured unable to look up to his sister or brother. The last few days have been rocky at best for the siblings. They seemed to be on opposite sides of a war created by Wilson Fisk. Everytime he found himself ready to pull out, Wilson reeled him in. He dangled his siblings in front of him and now he tells him he knows about the status of his mother. Deceased. Gone. Forever. Leaving at a young age, Piotr’s memories of his mother were skewed. The only one that had any memories was Mikhail but he refuses to speak on it.
He stared at the photograph of the cemetery in Russia thinking how irrelevant saving for flight tickets would be. There was still his father but all three siblings had agreed that he wasn’t worth finding without their mother.
“Still doubting Wilson’s intentions?” Illyana spoke up with a tone of frustration. Mikhail held her close and Piotr scoffed at how things had shifted between them. Illyana couldn’t stand the sight of Mikhail and suddenly he’s all knowing because he’s willing to comply with Wilson. He had gained his family to have it taken away.
“Yes.” Piotr handed them the photograph. “Everrytime I question motives he shoves something new about my past. Ourr past into ourr faces. That cannot be good intention. How could you be so blind?”
“Don’t talk to Illyana that way, Peter.”
“It is Piotrr!” he yelled at his older brother and stood up, pushing himself from the table in the kitchen he shared with his boyfriend. “Happy Motherr’s Day, eh? Illyana pops up on Chrristmas. You ven I seem to be losing my grrip on rreality. Motherr today. So should I expect inforrmation on fatherr next month, yes? Do you not see? Ve arre pawns! He knows ven to strrike. And he has you both brrain vashed!”
“That’s enough, Peter.” Mikhail replied calmly and took Illyana by the hand. “Let’s go. He needs to grieve.”
He needs to grieve. Like a good soldier. Like a pawn He was hurt. He was confused and he loved his mother very much. How could he not? Despite it all. Despite the arguing after Mikhail’s departure. Despite the pain caused to his family, there was still a glimpse of his mother when he needed her and Piotr couldn’t easily forget. “Yes. Please leave.” He waited for the door to shut so he could pull out the photograph of his mother holding him in her arms and Mikhail holding her hand. Her long raven tresses fell on her shoulders and he could almost smell the pot roast coming from his mother’s kitchen. “I’m sorry mama. I failed you. No morre. I’ll get Mikhail and Illyana back. Vateverr it takes.” Piotr never broke a promise.

Piotr wished now more than ever that he had a sense of normalcy in his life. He wished he never got involved with Wilson Fisk and he could enjoy simple pleasures like this one. He could tell Marie about his past so that she would know that he too attended the institute. This was the kind of moment that made everything even more upsetting to him. “I am almost jealous.” Which was true but also he knew how great is was at the institute and how he felt at home. “That is beautiful storry, Marrie. I am prrivilaged you sharred vith me.”
Piotr leaned against the wall, browsing through all the pictures. “Vow. Look at the thrree of you! A boarrding school. Tell me morre about it. I love storries.” He did. That wasn’t a lie. Piotr needed to feel normal for once and talk to Marie. In that moment, there were no thoughts of Wilson. Just a good time with a friend.

Piotr took a short moment to really take a look at his boyfriend. He was good. Why did he get tangled up with him? Piotr was being selfish. This would never end well. He took the seat beside Julian and immediately reached for his hand. “I love you.” he realized that telling him everything could get Julian into the kind of trouble that would get them both killed and Piotr couldn’t allow that. “I must tell you I am in serrious trrouble.”
Confessions were never easy but if Piotr ever wanted to seriously get somewhere with Julian, this had to be done. He aspired to be as happy as his friends some day. Like Cole and Pietro or Nadia and Eva. Jubilee and her boyfriend were happy too. This was all he wanted. “And I vanted to tell you. I think my employerr is involved in illegal activity. I do not vant to be a parrt of it but I don’t know how to rremove myself. I’m verry scarred and I don’t vant to get you involved.”
In Julian’s experience the phrase ‘need to talk’ had a strong history of foreshadowing bad news rather than good. Even Duke seemed to sense something lingering in the air as the Malinois flatted his ears against his head for a moment before stalking off into Julian and Piotr’s shared bedroom, leaving Julian alone on the couch. “Piotr? Is everything alright?” He asked as he scooted over, gesturing for his boyfriend to take a seat next to him.
Granted Julian knew he had something of his own he wanted to tell Piotr. With everything going on in the city and SHIELD’s increased need for all available boots on the ground, it was time that Piotr knew that his boyfriend was apart of the counter-terrorist organization. Julian couldn’t wait any longer. Not with his hours in the field increasing an his explanations an excuses running thin. This was a lie that had reached the end of its rope and Julian was scared about what was to happen once Piotr knew everything. Afterall he had remembered what happened to Pietro when he had told Cole about his involvement in SHIELD. Was Piotr going to be upset with him as well? Or worse, would he leave him? The though was unsettling.

Matching blazerrs!” Piotr laughed heartily. “I vant to see morre.” He should probably tell Marie he went to Xavier’s. He wished he could tell more people about his past especially the ones he trusted.

Marie nodded quickly, and went over to Piotr to get the box. She wasn’t too sure about the flowers but a box with flowers on it did seem like something she’d buy. Opening the box quickly, Marie smiled. “Okay, okay. So..” she took out a picture and handed it to him. “ That’s me and Ju in high school. We were, like, student body presidents or somethin’ and we decided to get matchin’ blazers. I’ve got a whole ton of pictures.”

Everything was going wrong. Mikhail had started working for Wilson and it seemed that Illyana had now become smitten with him as well. Meanwhile, Piotr was losing his trust in the man and the interest he once had in working for him. It started off slowly. Intimidation wasn’t something he minded going through with when he was aware of how evil the people he was intimidating were. Or that was the story that Fisk spun. Everything was a story and Piotr was starting to see the lies. The last thing he had asked him was to speak to the HYDRA members that owned Centerfolds. Easy enough except these people were dangerous and Wilson’s obsession with owning everything in Manhattan was leaving a sour taste in Piotr’s mouth.
Things only got worse when Wilson handed him a gun during their last meetings. $4500 and a gun. The older man didn’t tell him at first what the gun was for but he learned quickly that his intimidation would go another level. Wilson had instructed him to intimidate or kill. The thought created a lump in his throat. If he went against Fisk, would he turn his own brother and sister against him? Piotr needed to speak to someone. Julian was the only one he could think of.
“J. Ve need to talk.”

“For a couple of years now. It’s a bit cheaper than the rest of Manhattan.” Lying was getting harder and harder for him. He hated this, truly and he hated the idea of hurting anyone. Work was work and Wilson had too much on him.
“Thanks. I’m hoping I get the part or something in the play. How have you been, Lumen? How is the bar?”
Protests was a funny word to use for what was going on. It felt more like she was staring down the barrel of an all out war, and it was getting harder and harder to not fight for the third side, for the neutrality. No one was better than anyone else, but there sure as hell were people worse. Why was that so hard to see?
The train of thought was lost as the blonde pondered the Giant’s answer. Did people have non-paranoid lives in times like these? Did things really continue normally? “I see.. You live around Hells Kitchen, then?” It would at least explain why she didn’t see him around all that often. What was a method actor? “I mean, you could’ve fooled me with it.”

“ I do not envy that. It is literral shit show as I hear Amerricans call it.” Piotr shook his head in frustration.
“I think we’re all a bit on edge,” Irma sighed. “Being psychic in this environment isn’t a fun experience.”

He looked around and spotted a medium sized box with flowers on it at the top of her closet. “Prretty vith flowerrs maybe? I believe missing box is no longerr missing.” Piotr pointed to the top of the closet and then reached for it.
Piotr laughed. “Vat is fun in dat?” He teased his friend but agreed that he had taken too long of a break. “Alrright let us go find box. Did you look at the top of this closet herre?” Piotr opened the wooden door in the room.

“I’m not in a bad mood, you’re in a bad mood,” she retorted, putting her hands on her hips. “I thought you were goin’ to help me look for this box not stand there and sass me.” Marie had been on a mission to find a box of high school photos. “C’mon, you’re goin’ to love what’s in the box if we could find it.”

“Yeah dis has been a bit chaotic hasn’t it? I am sorry if I came off insensitive, girrls.”
“Is there some reason to be in a good mood I hadn’t heard about?” Celeste countered, frowning at nothing in particular.
“Don’t mind her,” Irma added. “She is in a bad mood, but it’s justifiable in this case, it’s not just general or targeted at you. You’re just in proximity.”

Piotr hung up his friend’s jacket and let him inside the apartment. “I know vat you arre saying. Everrything that is happening is a lot forr many people. Do not apologize to frriends. Dat is vat ver arre herre forr. You vant to talk about it, Pietrro? Please, sit. Julian vill be home any minute.”
“I’m not in a bad mood.” Pietro protested, moving quickly he barely even registered that he tossed his jacket to Piotr. “I’m just-” He stopped, exhaling through his nose. “I’m tired of all this.” Between Aiden and the protests and-well-everything, it was starting to really get to the speedster. “Sorry.” He moved to take the jacket back, still favoring his un-injured arm. “I didn’t mean to snap.”

“You know, I finally get back into town to find out there been all sorts of insanity going on while I was gone.” Julian sighed lightly before shaking his head. So was the woes of being sent away on mission training. “I think I need to find someone to bring me up to speed on what’s been going on.”
