You found that school has always been a drag. No matter how many social events Midtown tried to throw at the student body, nothing could ever make you enjoy an eight hour torture of sitting through classes (lunch excluded).
However, there was one good thing that made just a little bit of appreciation in you getting an education slightly important.
Peter Parker.
After properly meeting him on the train a few weeks prior, you found yourself seeking him out, wanting to know whatever you could about him without making it stalkerish, or overall weird.
A couple of your friends mutual to the boy had told you how insanely sweet he was, and even though he has his disappearing moments, he still finds a way to be there when needed. To you, that's a certain admiration you revel in with anyone.
Sure the two of you talked here and there, but given your growing infatuation to the boy, its a more so awkward exchange than genuine chemistry. There were even times you had to ask yourself if you were the problem or if he's just not as people person as you thought he was.
For instance, today in Spanish Class, you were stuck on the Spanish word for 'Phenomenal', so naturally you ask the smartest person in the room for help, and since you were in a sort of acquaintance relationship with Peter, you turned and shot your question to him.
Peter's reaction to your question however was far from how he interacted with you the weeks before, and you felt something stir in your gut, a bad feeling almost. Not only did he half answer, but he lacked eye contact.
You read somewhere that during conversations, eye contact is a super important thing to have and it shows that a person enjoys talking to you, and they're hearing what you're saying by maintaining such an aspect.
Maybe the little overlydramatic side of you could be reaching and he might just be really shy, but it also made no sense, because Peter did seem like he liked your company, at least for a little while.
As your thoughts of what if's invade your mind, you walk down the hall after asking your math teacher if you may use the washroom (he made a dumb math joke before you left), you notice a familiar set of brown curls exit the boys' washroom, and you stop in your tracks just as he did.
You look him over in his blue Midtown sweatshirt, which he probably got from school spirit week, holding a hall pass from the detention classroom.
"Hi." Peter says.
"Hi." You say back.
The strained silence set an unwanted tension between you both and Peter quietly fiddles with the makeshift pass in his hands before clearing his throat.
"You look nice today." He softly smiled at you and you blink in genuine confusion as the butterflies in your stomach flutter at his compliment.
"Thank you." You respond and awkwardly place your hands behind your back.
A few more seconds of quietness go by.
"I hope you know I'm not ignoring you on purpose, or—I don't want you to think I hate you or something." Peter explains, to your relief.
Being under the impression the boy hated you, or just fizzled out interest overtook your mind more than you'd like to admit.
All you could do is nod in response, thankful but still a little worried.
"It's just...I don't really know how to talk to you." Peter admits and continues, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay, I'm not mad at you or anything." You reassure, smiling in hopes he believes you.
Peter looks around in deep thought and takes a deep breath. You could feel his nervousness practically oozing from him.
"Look, I'm just going to say it because my aunt told me I should be more confident and upfront, no matter the outcome—" He rambles and you furrow your eyebrows with a confused smile. "I really like you, I know its technically been a few weeks, but I don't know..." Peter shrugs.
Your heart drops to the bottom of your stomach listening to his words, hearing the boy you were so infatuated with and even asked around about openly admit to liking you. It was almost impossible to ignore the feeling of happiness rising in you.
"You like me?" You bite the bottom of your lip and grin.
"Well, yeah." Peter shows you a half smile.
"I like you too." You ultimately admit.
Peter's half smile turns into an even bigger one.
"You do? I mean—That's awesome, maybe..I could hopefully, successfully ask you on a date? If you want to go, not forcing you or anything." He watches and waits for your reaction.
You felt like you were in a dream and one simple pinch would wake you up from this fairytale.
"I would like that." You agree and you swear Peter's smile grows inhumanly larger.
"Okay, cool."
"Cool."
A more comfortable beat of silence goes by.
"I should probably get back to...dentition before the Coach think I skipped or something." Peter explains to which you nod in understanding.
"Right." You press your lips together as he starts to walk past you.
The boy stops in his tracks and turns to face you. "Is it okay if I take you to a science related museum for our date? Because I know some cool facts unless you think that's lame, then we could go to Delmar's or something, but if you don't like sandwiches either—" You stop him before he continues with his habit of rambling.
"Both is fine." You chuckle and Peter nods at your submission.
"Okay, both it is."
Peter turns around and unknowingly fails to notice you watch him just about skip his way back to detention and you smile at the adorable gesture.
Almost completely forgetting your bladder needed relief, the five minute conversation finally coming to an end, you make your way to the girl's washroom with a more confident pep in your step.

prompt; You and Peter keep your relationship a secret
warnings: fluff, kissing, steamy making out (yw), mentions of smut
word count: 3.2k
You found that friends can fall in love in many ways. It's said that there's often times that romantic feelings can develop over time the more the two people spend their time together, and get to know each-other on a deep level.
Obviously, at first it took you a long time to come to that sort of realization.
You were friends with Peter since childhood, always spending time together every chance you got. From playing on the swings to sharing your first high school dance together.
Honestly, you didn't know the exact moment you started seeing the boy more than just a friend, but you know it happened nonetheless.
The stolen glances and lingering touches continued for a while until one of the two of you had decided it was enough of the palpable tension between you both.
The first kiss was an unforgettable one, and not because it was also the very first one where you two deflowered each-other. It was just something about it that felt so right and you always wondered why it took the two of you so long to come to a realization that it was just meant to be.
Now two months into the relationship, it was a mutual decision to keep it a secret. As it was your first relationship, as well as Peter's, you wanted it to be perfect, testing the waters of your intimacy without anyone's judgement.
You had this strange feeling that if you were to share that you two were dating it would ruin the special bond that only Peter and yourself would ever truly understand.
So far, you'd like to say that it was going fairly well, managing to keep a secret from not only your friends but your dad, who would have Peter's head if he were to ever find out.
You were laying in your bed, recovering from an insufferable cold you caught from Peter, who told you he was "fine", but ultimately he was not and you cursed him for opting to continue his patrolling instead of getting the well rest he needed.
You did get to miss school, but still had to study for your test retakes, and it was not an ideal thing you wanted to do on your free time away from that prison.
You let out a long, dramatic sigh, closing your Physics textbook, done with the studying for the night.
Three familiar knocks are at your window before you can decide on what type of snack you wanted from the kitchen.
There's a smile etched on your face as you remove yourself from your blanket, standing up from the bed and approaching the window to pull back your curtains, Peter standing in all his glory, his brown eyes gleaming at you with a bright smile on his face.
You open the window to let him in.
"You do know what time it is right?" You ask the boy, watching as he climbs in before shutting your window quietly.
"It's like one am, right?" Peter answers unsurely, turning around and engulfs you in a bear hug, you feel a comforting warmth settle at his gesture.
"Yeah, and what would May think if she found out her nephew snuck out after curfew?"
Peter shrugs, pulling away slightly to give you a kiss.
"I already told her I was spending the night with Ned." He reassures, pulling away from your figure fully, walking over to your large dresser.
Peter opens a drawer, rummaging through the one reserved for all his clothes for whenever he spends the night with you.
"And what did you tell Ned?" You ask, sitting down on your bed.
Peter stays quiet for a few minutes, still searching for what you assume are probably pyjamas and he turns around with a Star Wars shirt you bought him for his birthday, and his Nightmare Before Christmas pyjama pants.
"Uh, nothing?" The boy cringes when you roll your eyes.
"Peter, what's the point of keeping this relationship a secret if you're not gonna keep up with your lies?" You laugh, the boy grabs a towel from your bottom drawer.
Peter once again turns around, glancing behind you at the cluttered mess on your bed, his lips turn upright and ignores your question.
"There's no way you're still studying for that physics test." The boy almost laughs and you groan at his words.
"Well if someone listened to me when I told them to rest when they were sick and didn't spend every waking minute with their girlfriend, I'd had been taken that test and probably got a decent grade on it." You countered, glaring at Peter who just smiles with a nod.
A comforting silence evades you two, Peter pokes his tongue against his cheek before sighing.
"Well, I be right back," He gestures the clothes and towel in his hold. "Feel free to join me if you want." Peter smirks, and you narrow your eyes at the boy.
"I would but I took a shower earlier." You tell him casually.
Peter pouts at your words, and he decides he best not linger in your bedroom in case someone in the tower makes it to the bathroom before he does, and questions why in god's name was he there. It'd be a hassle coming up with a lie then.
You throw your school work off your bed, making room for Peter's space, snuggling under your blanket after your accomplishment and it takes only a few seconds after settling in your comfort to realize just how tired you were.
You struggle to keep your eyes open, fighting the urge to lull yourself to sleep, but you loose the battle anyhow, the drowsy feeling becoming stronger as you close your eyes and slip easily into your dreams.
-
To say getting Peter out of your room before your dad did his daily ritual of waking you up for school was extremely difficult would be an understatement.
First, you had to wake up at four because your dad wakes up at six for a business meeting that lasts at least an hour before he comes into your room. Then you had to get Peter up and take a shower with the boy to save him from the high risk of your dad coming into your room to a sleeping Peter, and the what was supposed to be a quick and peaceful shower turns into a quickie, that lasts longer than what the name stands for.
Finally after the shower sex, you hear voices in the hallway just outside the bathroom and you two have to wait for god knows how long just to run all the way back to your bedroom, and you were so very thankful that you and Peter had not manage to bump into anyone on the way.
Things take a scary turn when your dad bursts into your room (thankfully after you were successfully changed), and demands you to hurry up so Happy could take you to school, and Peter hurriedly hides in your closet as soon as he hears the door open.
Your anxiety dies down when he leaves you to get ready and Peter is practically shaking when you retrieve him from the closet, and you have to bite back a laugh at his state.
Peter bids you a goodbye, exiting out your window and tells you he'll meet you at school. You close your window after his departure, also making your way to school in the backseat of Happy's car.
"Y/N." A voice startles you, you close your locker and turn around.
"MJ." You retort her voice and she shows you a smile.
"How was your weekend?" The girl questions and you shrug.
Michelle "MJ" Jones, has probably been your friend for well over a year and you two may not have similar lives, but your personalities fit so well that you just clicked the minute your teacher assigned you to sit next to each-other of your sophomore year in your criminology class.
"Boring, all I did was study, sleep, and slept some more." You tell her, the two of you walking to your first class of the day.
"Sounds fun." She deadpans and she sighs out in annoyance when she notices both Ned and Peter making their way toward you both.
You and Peter share a smile when the boys reach you.
"Hey Y/N," Peter waves at you, and you smile and wave back, his drops when he glances at MJ.
"Michelle."
"Loser."
Ned rolls his eyes and gives you a look that you laugh at.
You met Ned through Peter, and the boy had always thought you and Peter were dating when he first met you, but you assured him that you weren't and it took a lot of convincing to prove just that to him. Little did he know, a few years later you two do start dating, just unbeknownst to him.
When you introduced the boys to MJ, they were a little reluctant for whatever reasons that might have been, but of course Ned being the sweetest boy ever eventually accepts the girl in your small friend group, and Peter on the other hand, well he had later explained that she was a bit too brutally honest with him, so he still apparently holds a grudge to her.
It was safe to say MJ had not really cared about that anymore, but Peter very much did.
What made matters worst for the boy is that you four had almost every single class together, so it was inevitable to escape Michelle's sarcastic presence, and she also just happens to be friends with his friends.
"Did you get invited to Flash's party?" Ned quizzes when the four of you start walking again, and you raise your eyebrow at his question.
"No, why would I?" You wonder.
"Well, because you're Y/N Stark, and you know, Flash is kind of, popular?" Ned tells you in just the same amount of confusion as you were in.
"Yeah, but doesn't mean I'm gonna go, no matter my social status." You tell him with a nod.
Ned smiles at the confirmation.
"Good, cause it's game night tonight."
You share a look with Peter, you both are clearly hesitant with that information, and you quickly look away from the boy before either of your friends notice.
"Oh, uh I don't think I can make it." You frown, and so does Ned.
You four make it to your first period, entering the classroom and going all the way to the back where your unassigned assign seats were.
"Aw man." Ned huffs as he sits at his desk.
"Why?" MJ stares at you expectingly when Peter sits behind you as she settles across from you.
You freeze at the question, racking through your brain for an easy lie to tell.
You couldn't exactly tell them you and Peter had a date that the two of you were planning for a few days now.
"Um.." You trail off.
It was only a matter of time and you couldn't think of a believable lie fast enough.
"Don't you have that thing with Mr. Stark? You know, the family dinner you were telling me about?" Peter questions, and you turn around to look at the boy, giving him a nod that says 'thank you, I love you'.
"Yes, I do." You confirm, and Ned mouths an 'oh', Michelle flickers her eyes between both you and Peter curiously.
You had almost forgot just how observant this girl was, and how easy it was for her to see through a lie.
"Maybe next time." Ned says, turning around fully in his seat.
Peter nods before pulling out his notebook and pencil.
You decide to finally focus in as well, doing the exact thing Peter does and ignoring Michelle's piercing gaze.
Only then does the girl finally decide to leave you alone when the bell rings and the teacher starts his boring lesson.
-
After school, Happy picks you up and takes you to run a few errands your mother needed you to do for her, and you text Peter to meet you in your room, telling the boy to make sure your door is locked when you get there.
He doesn't respond, so you have no idea if he got your text or not, and it makes you a bit worried.
However, when you return home from the errands, you discover that Peter did indeed get your texts, but before he could respond, his phone died. You shake your head at his irresponsible habit of never charging his phone.
"Dinner with my dad?" You question, closing your bedroom door quietly, and Peter chuckles with a shrug of his shoulders.
"What? Did you want me to tell them that I'll have my head in between your legs instead?" The boy questions, and you snort at his expense.
"Peter." You warn.
"I'm joking!" He exclaims defensively.
"Sort of."
"Peter!"
"Okay, okay." Peter laughs, pulling you in for a hug.
You sigh in content, accepting his hug and feeling that yet again familiar comforting warmth whenever Peter's aura was around. He had that sort of effect on you.
"Missed you, so much." Peter mumbles in your hair.
"You seen me all day." You laugh.
"That's not what I meant." The boy pulls away, gazing down at you, and you stare back, noticing the suggestive glint in his eyes.
"Peter, we can't." You whisper as he leans in closer, feeling his breath fan over your lips.
"I know." Peter replies back in the same tone, his gaze dances between yours and your lips.
You subconsciously lean closer.
"Maybe we could watch a movie or something before our date." You suggest, you nervously swallow when all Peter does is nod and leans in as well.
"Yeah, or.." He trails off when you two lean impossibly closer.
Your breath hitches, one of Peter's hands cup your cheek, his thumb brushing against your skin. You close your eyes, savouring the tingling sensation that spread through your body. Peter's lips met yours in a soft, tentative kiss, and your heart skipped.
You respond eagerly, your hands finding their way to Peter's shoulders, pulling him closer. The kiss deepened, your mouths moving in sync, tongues dancing in a passionate tango. You felt a rush of heat as Peter's arms wrap around your waist, pulling you tightly against him. Your senses were heightened, every touch, taste, and scent amplified.
Peter's lips trailed down to your neck, and you let out a soft moan, your fingers tangling in his hair. Peter's breath grew heavier, his desire evident in the way he held you.
But as the passion escalated, you pull back slightly, your chest heaving. You look into Peter's eyes, your cheeks flushed.
"Peter," You laugh at his pout, running a hand through his hair, pulling away from his body.
"As much as I would love to, we can't, Tony is lterally downstairs." You argue with a shrug, going to sit on your bed, Peter not too far behind.
He sits next to you with a sigh, huffing in annoyance before bending down and taking off his shoes, placing them under your bed.
You fix your hair, turning to face Peter with a smile when he leans back up, the boy reciprocates your actions, raising an eyebrow.
"What?"
You smile, observing his post make-out daze, wondering how someone so pure, and radiant could be so adorable. You love everything about Peter, from his unruly curls down to his beat up sneakers.
"You're so cute." You tell him, your gaze filled with longing and Peter chuckles at your compliment.
"And you're so pretty." He says back, his hand reaching out to brush against your cheek, sending a shiver down your spine.
Without a word, Peter leaned in, capturing your lips into another breathtaking kiss.
Despite your previous warnings, you give in, your hands found their way to Peter's chest, feeling his strong muscles underneath your fingertips. You pull him closer, the boy laying the two of you down on the bed as your mouths moved together hungrily.
Peter's lips trail down to your neck once again, you gasp, arching your back as his lips left a trail of fire against your skin. Peter's hands roamed over your body, exploring your curves with a gentleness that no matter how many times he did, always managed to make you melt.
Your fingers tangled in his hair, kissing him with abandon, your desires spiralling out of control. Peter's touch was electric, igniting a fire in you that you could never find in yourself to ignore.
Your breath came in ragged breaths when Peter's lips finds yours again, and you respond eagerly, your tongues dancing in a fiery duet. Peter's hands slipped under your shirt, his touch sending waves of pleasure through your body. You let out a soft moan, urging him on.
But just as things get heated, your door opens with force, and both you and Peter break apart rather quickly, your gazes darting to where MJ and Ned stand, both holding different expressions.
"Guys, what the hell?" You scold, fixing your shirt as both you and Peter sit up, putting distance in between you two.
"Does your dad know that you occasionally suck face with your so called friend?" MJ jokes, Ned snorts at her quip, and you give her a unamused look.
"How did you get in here?" You ask, ignoring her question, briefly watching as Ned wanders around your room curiously.
"Some grumpy guy let us in when we told him we were here to help you with your missing work." She tells you with a shrug, and you groan, keeping in mind to confront Happy later.
Peter sighs next to you, anxiously rubbing his hands on his jean pants.
"But seeing as your busy keeping your relationship a secret from us, we'll leave." MJ snides, gesturing for Ned to follow her out your room.
You share a look with Peter and he gestures his head for you to follow both of them, and you glare at him before getting up from your bed, calling your friends name out before they could reach the elevator.
Ned turns around quicker than MJ does, the girl slowly turning around in annoyance.
"We wanted to tell you guys, but this is all new to us, and we didn't want you to judge, honest." You explain, nervously fiddling with your fingers, hearing faint footsteps behind you.
Peter nods in agreement, watching MJ stare the two of you down, and you had never wanted anyone's approval as much as you wanted hers.
You knew she wasn't too fond of Peter, and the thought of her only best friend spending her alone time with him probably broke her heart.
"It's not that I'm mad that you kept your relationship a secret, I understand that and if it makes you feel better, I'd never judge you, no matter the person." MJ tells truthfully, and you let out a sigh of relief at her words.
"Yeah, me either." Ned agrees, and Peter shows his best friend an appreciative smile.
"I always knew you were hiding something, but had I known it was Peter, I wouldn't had cared as much." MJ scrunches her nose up in fake disgust.
Showing MJ a very sarcastic smile, Peter rolls his eyes before shaking his head.
"So, we're good?" You ask, stepping closer to MJ.
"Yeah, just don't be so couple around me." She warns, pointing a finger at the two of you.
"Deal." You agree, holding your arms out toward the girl, she hesitates at first, giving her lack of liking affection before giving in.
"Oh, we'll make sure to be extra couple." Peter blurts out from behind the two of you.
You pull away from MJ, the girl giving your boyfriend the middle finger to which both you and Ned laugh at.
Sure, eventually you would have to tell your dad, but that was another can of worms you'd worry about opening later.

part one
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ taglist
Two months. Two months since Peter confessed he had feelings for you and two months since your first date, since you last talked to him. To start with, the tryst went absolutely amazing, for the most part. Peter certainly surprised you. You had not expected someone nearly as incompetent (in your opinion) and naïve as him to be so strong matched about your preferences.
The minute the boy showed up at your door, he thankfully did not bring flowers because you mentioned at one point during your many conversations how cliché the boutonniere is. He, of course respected your thoughts and instead arrived with a bouquet of sticks, which you did not find funny, but Peter swore it was a comical idea he believed would make you smile (it didn't).
You recommended your first date to be somewhere luxuriated, like a movie date to which he told you happened to be even more maxim than bringing you flowers and woefully you agreed.
So, you two decide on a sandwich from Delmar's second establishment and a walk through Central Park. The first thirty to thirty five minutes of your time was filled with conversations you missed, how hard and pointless school was, and the fact that Peter was Spider-Man. Something you still can't quite believe.
You didn't know the exact way to ask him about his alter ego, nervous to offend him, but thankfully you gathered up the courage and he was more than happy to tell you.
He told you about how he was bit by a radioactive spider on your grade nine field trip to the science centre, and how for the past three years he had been trying to impress the Tony Stark. Peter then told you he never really had an internship with the billionaire, it was just a cover up for his vigilante side.
You asked questions, he answered and to you, at least for the most part the date was unexceptionally good, until he decided to be more dense than he already was.
'Oh, crap." Peter pulls out his phone from his pocket and glances down at it. You blink in confusion as he turns up the volume and listens to police officers from what you can only assume is a 911 dispatcher app.
"What?" You glance from the phone and narrow your eyes at him, sensing what you already know.
"There's a robbery on sixty fourth avenue.."
You stare at him in confusion, not really understanding if what he was suggesting was actually about to happen, so you sigh and place your hands on your hips.
"And that's your problem because?"
"I mean, I am Spider-Man, so."
You huff and roll your eyes at his stupidity.
"The police can handle it." You suggest and Peter frowns as if you just recommended the boy donate his blood.
"They won't come fast enough." He insists and tucks his phone back into his pocket.
The boy cropped up this dogmatic counsel to ditch you on your first ever rendezvous to stop a bank robbery that can easily be terminated by the police, given it was their job to do, not his. You sensed a common amount of fury climb through your body.
"So, you're suggesting that I let you leave while we're on a date that you asked me on?" You tilt your head in confusion and watch Peter press his lips into a thin line, a greater than sum of thoughts dispute through his eyes.
He contemplated your question for some time before he nods slowly.
"I'll come back, it'll take ten minutes or less. Bank robberies are my speciality." The boy offers you a smile and you roll your eyes, in spite of your inner torment, you sigh.
"Fine, ten minutes or less. If it eleven minutes or more I will consider this the worst first date ever." You point to him and Peter smiles as you agree to let him escape to his mission.
"I'll be back in ten, promise."
You nod silently and observe him turning away from you and exiting the park.
You had no idea why you believed him, because eleven minutes, twelve and eventually an hour had past. You gave up the hope he was coming back. Embarrassed by your reliance, you walk of shame your way back home.
What was even more disappointing was the fact he had not reached out to you that entire night after his failed promise, so you swore to yourself to declare the date with him the worst one you have ever experienced, no matter how terrible future ones may be.
-
"Boys are idiots, that's why I date girls." MJ shrugs and pops a chip into her mouth, the noisy cafeteria being a familiar background to your ears.
You told Michelle a sugarcoated version of Peter standing you up on your first date, still being respectful about his secret identity even if you hated everything about him in the moment.
"I should have never agreed on that date." You cross your arms as the girl raises her eyebrow.
"It's not the end of the world." Michelle reassures.
You start to wonder which side she was even on.
"Yes it is." You argue.
The brown haired girl sighs and sits up. "Okay, so what if Peter stood you up on your first date—"
"Ever." You interrupt to add.
She narrows her eyes. "On your first date ever." You nod at the correction.
"The best part of this whole conflict is you got a free sandwich."
You furrow your eyebrows at her insensible words, despite it being true, was not the wisdom you were searching for.
"Whatever, it's very humiliating to have a like slash dislike relationship with someone and agree to go on a date with him, only for the boy to turn around and stand me up. He didn't even apologize." You explain, your anger bubbling up at the memories.
"It's been two months and you're now just telling me this." She points out and you glare at her.
"I was still in disbelief and that isn't the point."
"You're right." Michelle nods. "The point is that you need to stop avoiding him and talk to him. I'm sure he has done everything in his power to apologize."
MJ is absolutely right. For the past two months, Peter went out his way to talk to you, apologize, and get your attention. Being the stubborn person you are, you ignore his attempts and steer clear of the spider boy the best you can. In your eyes, it was justified (maybe slightly unfair), because you were not the kind of individual to easily forgive. Especially when the reason for your obstinacy only started due to the certainty Peter stood you up to cease a misdeed that could've been done by the police department. Not only did he leave you longer than he promised, he made no effort that same night to explain why it took him more than an hour.
Instead he waited seventy two hours later to approach you, and you knew you were worth more than a three day later apology.
As the weeks passed, he never sought to give up his efforts which may have been just a tiny bit admirably but also terribly annoying.
"No." You shake your head, Michelle sighs as she glances behind you.
"Well, better find a hiding place quick, your knight in shining armour is coming this way."
You quickly turn around to see what she was talking about and you see Peter with a weary determined look, coming your way and you stand up as swiftly as you can, unfortunately not fast enough to escape him as he catches your arm with a gentle grip, but still firm enough to make sure you can't run away.
You look at MJ for help and she pretends to not see you.
"Wait." Peter pleads and you shake your head at your so called best friend and side eye the boy, not in the right headspace to officially face him after two months of avoidance.
"Can I talk to you, please?" You feel Peter's hand withdraw from your arm, examining you carefully.
Notwithstanding your urge to say no, and to leave you alone, you narrow your eyes and huff out a flatten sigh.
"Fine," You cross your arms as Peter looks around nervously before clearing his throat.
"Not...not here." He shakes his head.
You glance around the cafeteria, the bustling noise of students undeniably obnoxious. Certainly, you sensed Peter's hesitation to want to converse with you in such a wildly known public place that tends to shape commotion.
Sharing one last look at MJ, you gesture for the boy to lead the way.
Peter guides to the hallway outside the cafeteria, placing his hands into his pocket. It's not lost on you how nervous he is. You could not understand why the boy was practically shaking in nerves considering when it came to you, he always seemed so sure and somewhat, maybe slightly confident. There was banter, teasing and harmless insults through the time you've known him.
However, recently, Peter's endurance struggled.
"I haven't seen you in two months." Is the first thing he says to you and it takes you a minute to fall back down to earth.
"I wonder why." You raise an eyebrow in defence.
"I didn't ditch you on purpose."
"You didn't explain why either."
Peter immediately presses his lips together, his hand running through his hair in frustration.
A few seconds of silence goes by and he sighs. You can see the wheels turning in his brain as he tries to come up with an answer, an explanation even.
"I know and I'm sorry. I got distracted and its not like I forgot or anything. May found out and it got really messy--" You hold up your hand and immediately he snaps his mouth shut.
"What do you mean she "found out?" You blink in confusion as he raises his eyebrow at your question.
"That I'm," Peter glances around, presumably to make sure no one hears before looking back at you. "Y'know, that I'm Spider-Man."
Your eyes widen in surprise at his admission, the sudden guilt overwhelming your thoughts. Had you known your every so often 'friend' was going through such a thorny conflict, you probably wouldn't be half as mad as you've been the last few months.
If only he had told you.
"Why couldn't you tell me that? I might've like, supported you through it or something."
You're not really sure if there was anything you could've done, but what you are sure about is Peter coming to you for any sort of comfort might he needed.
"I'm sure." Peter nods and steps closer to you. "You have to believe me, that I didn't mean to ditch you and I realize I probably should've tried a little harder to talk to you after our date." He admits and you can't help but smile slightly at his words.
A part of you (mostly your head) tells you to hold him a bit more accountable, to expand his defence. Your heart however, remembered Peter Parker has always been the sweet, remorseful, boy next door friend(ish) you've known for years.
And if you've learned anything from your on and off again friendship, you know when he's sorry, he really means it.
After much debate, positives and negatives, you were willing to forgive him, one last time.
"Alright, you've convinced me." You say as you cross your arms.
"Convinced you to what?" Peter furrows his eyebrows at your albeit, vague submit.
"Forgive you. Obviously you suck at excuses, so I'm willing to forgive you one last time." You explain, watching Peter nod with hesitation.
Yet another beat of silence occupies the air and you press your lips together, having nothing else to say. You've done your part of forgiven, now it's his turn to accept it.
"Perfect." Peter smiles at your mercy, quickly hugging you.
You flutter somewhat and your arms instinctively hug him back. The new, yet familiar warmth evades a gloomy outlook and you find yourself wanting to embrace him no matter the circumstance.
Atlas, reality returns as Peter pulls away from you slowly.
"Does this mean we're friends again? Like again for a long time?" He gazes at you with the most puppy eyed stare you've ever seen and you have to look down in fear you might not have much control left.
"Yeah, I guess we can be friends without the enemies part." You reassure, glancing at Peter as he smiles.
"That's good to know. Maybe down the road you can..." He pauses for a moment and you notice he bites the inside of his cheek.
"Be my girlfriend."
Your heart jumps at his words and your eyes might seem as if they're about to jump out of your socket.
"What?"
"Huh? I'm kidding." Peter laughs and you frown before glaring at him.
You didn't find pulling at your heartstrings humorous.
"We can start very slow, no rush. I'm just glad we're friends again."
The lunch bell rings, a flock of students rush out of the cafeteria, chattering and what not overtakes the comfortable atmosphere as you stare at him.
"I thought you liked me?" You blurt as you tilt your head.
Peter blinks before nodding, "I mean, I do, but it's been two months since we last spoke, so it would be kind of weird to...jump into something."
You sigh, not wanting to verbally agree with his statement.
"Friends." You hold out your hand.
"Friends, for now." Peter shakes your hand with a smile.
The familiar comfort returns and Peter offers to walk you to class, which you of course accept.

"There's a robbery on sixty fourth avenue."

IT HAD BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE PETER'S IDENTITY WAS REVEALED. Two weeks left of your summer break, tomorrow being the first day of school that you dreaded with each hour that passed by.
As expected, your dad limited your hangouts with Peter, not wanting you to face more trouble than you already ensued before, which, yeah was ultimately understandable, but you both knew he couldn't just deprive you from seeing your boyfriend. He opted to one hour phone calls instead.
You and Peter had broken that rule, going hours on end during the night while your dad slept soundlessly, oblivious to your loophole.
Currently, you were doing just that, chatting on FaceTime, paying no mind to the fact that it was a school night.
You had missed Peter these past few weeks, and you were finally glad you'd be able to see him tomorrow, but there was no doubt chaos would be awaiting you and your friends.
"Did you get a chance to send in your applications?" You questioned after your conversation about things you expected for Christmas died out.
"I literally just finished my MIT one." Peter tells you, the phone screen bright in your face, a stark contrast from the darkness that surrounded you.
You knew the chances were slim with getting into certain colleges, so you all had came up with a plan to apply to the same backup colleges if all goes wrong, or if miraculously none of you were accepted.
"You?" He retorted back.
"I did, few weeks ago." You admit, shuffling into a more comfortable position.
Peter hums out a response. "Could you imagine if we both got in? MJ and Ned too?" The boy wondered, to which you nod in agreement to. That was the plan after all.
"Yeah, but we'd probably have to get scholarships so that we could actually go." You say, a bit doubtful at your chances.
It's not that you didn't have hope, but with everything that's been going on, you knew your chances of getting in decreased, scholarship or not.
"Come on, you got the scores and the grades." Peter reassured you, dismissing your rational words.
You squint at him in scepticism.
"Are you trying to say I'm being too realistic?" You pondered, raising your eyebrow expectingly.
You probably were, but your question wasn't serious, just only teasing.
"No-, well, yeah, maybe." Peter stuttered out his reply carefully.
Peter shrugs as you let out a low chuckle, watching his face relax into relief, realizing the question wasn't to be taken serious.
"That's okay, though." Peter said after two seconds of silence, giving you a small smile.
"It's one of the many things I love about you." Peter confessed, and he could've swore your eyes got brighter at his sentence.
You smile, feeling the heat warm up your face at his disclosure. The boy seemed to always know what to say at any given time, one of the many things you loved about him.
"Really?" You amused, Peter giving you a small nod.
"What are the other things?" You wondered, rubbing your cold feet together in attempt to keep them warm.
Peter pretends to think about it for a second, and you roll your eyes at his stunt.
"Well.." He starts, with a smile plastered on his face.
"I love how brave you are." The boy tells you, looking back at the phone.
You hum, waiting for him to continue.
"You're also super nice to people." Peter jokes, to which you laugh at.
"Yup, I just love being nice." You agreed sarcastically.
"Your humour, which can be...really dark at times." Peter continued, you give him a grateful smile.
"It makes it more funny." You say nonchalantly, giving Peter a cheeky smile, watching the boy shake his head.
"And..." He trailed off.
"You make me really happy." Peter finalized, and your heart just about flutters in your chest.
You never really made it a goal to prioritized Peter's happiness, but you would never neglect it on purpose either. There was just this unspoken agreement that you had to always no matter what, make the most of what you had. There were going to be times and obstacles in your life that you would face, and you hoped in some way Peter would be there with you every step of the way.
You could say just about the same as well. You never had anyone in your life make you feel the way you felt when around Peter. His presence was enough to make you melt into a puddle, and you were glad you had found him.
You were truly thankful for him. If he asked for the world, you would give it to him in a heartbeat.
You open your mouth to express your reciprocation, but something, or someone snoring obnoxiously loud in the background breaks your train of thought.
"What's that noise?" You quizzed with furrowed eyebrows.
"Oh, it's Happy, look." Peter replies with a whisper, panning his phone over to a sleeping Happy in his recliner.
"Gave his room to May so he's sleeping down here." The boy adds informally, and you slowly nod before deciding to change the topic.
Since the unexpected situation at Times Square that happened, you had this nagging thought in the back of your head that always seemed to make a guest appearance when you were alone with your daydreaming.
You wanted to ask Peter for awhile now, but you never had the time, or chance to.
You figured now's a good time more than any.
"I have a..weird question." You start unsurely, your tone lowering with each word.
You didn't know how to ask it, really. It only just being a thought in your head, words jumbled together, not really making sense, but you thought it never the less.
"Does any part of you feel relieved about all of this?" You finally let out, watching your boyfriend's face twist in confusion at the lack of context you provided.
"What do you mean?" He questioned.
"Like, with the whole identity thing being revealed." You say more clearly, and his face pondered at your sentence.
A few seconds of silence creeps through the phone, the question still lingering in the air, awaiting to be answered.
"Ever since I got bit by that spider.." Peter starts, breaking the silence as he slowly answered the question.
"I only had one week where my life felt normal." He tells you and you couldn't help but feel bad.
"Or kind of normal, I guess." Peter adds and you nod in silence as he continues.
"And, that is when you found out." He says, gazing back at the phone.
You pout slightly, your sympathetic eyes staring behind your phone as you listened.
"Because then everyone that was in my life that I wanted to know, knew." Peter admits, and your eyes shift back toward the phone.
You understood where Peter was coming from, glad your question was answered. You really couldn't imagine the things your boyfriend had to go through after being bitten by a radioactive spider.
"And it was perfect."
You sigh in defeat, your face falls into a sad expression, at a lost for words or even a proper reply.
"But now everybody knows and I am the most famous person in the entire world." Peter states with a heavy sigh as he stared at the condo ceiling.
"And I'm still broke." The boy joked, making you let out a giggle.
You were silent for another minute, your heart beating at a steady rhythm against your chest, content with Peter's answer.
You couldn't bare another day without physically seeing him, the daily routined phone calls not enough.
"I really miss you." You tell him with a soft tone, your eyes looking at the carpet of your bedroom before looking back at the phone, seeing Peter's face gleam.
"Yeah?" He asked with a smile.
"Mhm." You hummed. "I also can't wait to see you at school tomorrow." You confessed, your eyes half lidded, tiredness hitting you like an ocean wave.
"I miss you, and I too can't wait to see you at school tomorrow." Peter retorts, his smile only growing wider with each word he says.
"Wrap it up." A voice demands from Peter's end of the phone, making the boy jump in alert, as you just furrow your eyebrows.
"You both like each other. We get it. Hang up." Happy countered sternly and you fight back a laugh at his annoyance.
"There's no new ground being broken. I need my eight hours." The older man says, his voice muffled by the ventilator.
"Have you been listening this whole time?" Peter questioned.
"Hi Happy." You greet awkwardly.
"Uh, not by choice." The man admits, to which you do laugh at.
"Y/N says hi." Peter tells the grumpy man.
"Hello." He waves, slowly drifting off back into his slumber.
You two suppress your giggles after Happy falls asleep again. It only got harder since the mere thought of poor Happy listening to you two talk all sappy to each other, tortured him, and you could take a few guesses as to why.
You yawn after you both stop your laughter, the action not going unnoticed by Peter.
"You should probably get your eight hours in." The boy teased, you snort at his joke, nodding in agreement.
"You as well." You tell him, stretching the lower half of your body, once again shifting into a cosier position.
"Yeah, see you tomorrow, 'kay?" Peter agreed, and you could see the sleepiness in his eyes.
It was a wonder how it only took Happy breaking your conversation midway to make the two of you realize just how tired you were.
"Goodnight Peter." You reply, a lazy smile on your face.
"Goodnight." The boy says softly, the phone call coming to an end.
You stretch once more, putting your phone on the nightstand near your bed, turning over to get more comfier under your blanket, closing your eyes and picturing a world where you and your friends didn't have to go through the torment you were going through now.
Hopefully your school day wouldn't be as bad as you thought.
Tumblr media
School was just as bad as you thought. As soon as you exit the car, there was a mob of either citizens or students swarming the front of the school.
You and MJ had to ride to school with Peter and Ned, via Happy's request because May feared the worst if you four weren't together when attending school. You were glad that she suggested it, because compared to how you imagined, it was chaos.
Chaos is probably a bit of a stretch, but when you were walking up to the school, there was people with homemade posters, claiming just how wrongly villainous Peter was, blaming the boy for Mysterio's death.
As mentioned before you weren't a people person, and you didn't do well in a large crowd, though this wasn't exactly your problem, you made it your problem because you knew Peter. You don't regret it one bit though. The one thing you wished for really was for the people to understand Peter's side of the story.
No one deserves to be wrongly accused for something they didn't do, but you knew how the world worked. People believed what they wanted to believe.
Your anxiety worsen as you walked side by side next to said person, Peter, your sister, MJ, and best friend Ned, closely behind the two of you.
You and Peter instinctively reached for each-other's hand, being one another's unsaid emotional support, guiding through the roaring crowds of people dreadfully.
People were either shouting your name, Peter's name, even Ned and MJ's. Some were saying things you couldn't quite hear, insults here and there, one civilian even asking you if you were going to have Peter's, "spider babies". You shivered at the thought.
Thankfully, a lady who guided you through the crowd, had made sure no one got too close to you or your friends.
"You know he's a murderer right?
"Peter. Do a TikTok with me."
"Mysterio forever!"
"Do a flip!"
Was all you heard as you walked by, your gaze worriedly going to Peter's who face was pinched with cringe, his strong urge to ignore the words being thrown at him.
When the four of you had finally arrive at the threshold of the front doors of Midtown, there was a few security guards waiting at the door, one with a body scanner.
The one with the body scanner, scans Peter, who after he was done attempted to wait for you and your friends, but obviously they wouldn't let him, and your face is evident in defeat.
"I'll see you inside, okay?" Peter reassures as a security guard body scans you, you give him a weak nod.
Soon after, MJ, and Ned get scanned as well, you waited inside the building patiently.
One of the front doors open, revealing MJ, who quickly goes over to hug you, her curly hair in a down do hairstyle, different from her common one you were so used to.
You quickly hug her back, embracing each-other for awhile before pulling back.
"You okay?" You ask her, she nods in response.
"Yeah, where's Peter?" She questioned.
"Class probably." You answer unsurely.
To be fair, you really had no idea where your boyfriend had went. You figured he'd be in class anyway, but not without going through expecting students that most likely lingered in the hallway.
It was your senior year you realize, this was supposed to be it. Instead you were doing everything but beaming with happiness as your final year finally rolled around.
"'S fine, we have him next period." She says, linking her arm with yours as the two of you wait for Ned.
You had no first period class with the two of them, but you decided on earlier in the car you all would walk each-other to your classes, but since the plan backfired, you just had to make do with what you got.
Ned arrives shortly, asking the both of you if you were okay, and you two tell him you were before dreadfully making your way to class.
Tumblr media
When lunch finally came, Peter finds his way to you somehow through the expecting large crowds of people who lingered to gaze at him, some amazed that an actual superhero was attending their very school.
The boy had pleaded for the two of you to go someplace quiet, anywhere away from the pestering students inhabiting the school, it didn't take much convincing on your end.
Peter had taken you to the roof of the school, a place you knew was probably the most quietest the two of you had been to in what felt like forever.
"Can we just stay up here all day?" Peter asked from above you, you reading through a newspaper you had found on your way to school.
You two had been up here for five minutes, you resting your head in his lap as he relaxed above you, staring off thinking about only god knows what.
"It is so crazy down there." He tells you, and you hum in agreement, something in the newspaper article catching your eye, almost making you laugh out loud.
"Wait, 's one's good." You say with a small chuckle.
"Some suggest that Parker's power include male spider's ability to hypnotize females," You share with a more bigger chuckle, and from the corner of your eye you see Peter's face fall in disbelief. "Which he used to seduce Jones-Watson into his cult of personality." You finish in amusement, hearing Peter let out a groan.
"Oh, Come on. Stop, stop." He pleaded, and you mischievously smirk.
"Yes my spider king." You mock teasingly.
Peter shoots you a glare from above as you break out into a giggle, the boy soon chuckling as well.
Once the both of you stop your chortling, you sit up from where you rested in his lap, placing the newspaper next to your backpack, gazing at Peter who was already looking at you.
You notice the boy's stare shift from your eyes, trailing to your lips, and you can't help but do the same. Peter smoothly places one of his hands on your cheek, the warmth of it burning against your fair skin.
You already knew where this was going, you had been touched deprived from him for way too long, and you were finally happy the two of you got the alone time you deserved.
You close your eyes just as Peter does the same, both of you leaning in, your lips just inches away, you could feel his breath so close to yours, going in for what you needed most.
"Finally some privacy." Ned bursts through the exit door of the roof, MJ trailing behind him with her bag half on her shoulder.
You and Peter slowly pull away, the boy's hand falling from your face and you give him a sheepish look with a shrug, your eyes watching the two come sit across from you and Peter.
"It is so crazy down there." Ned says, shrugging off his backpack and you just nod in agreement as MJ looked in-between you and Peter.
"What were you two losers doing?" MJ questioned knowingly, narrowing her eyes.
"Nothing."
"Talking."
You give Peter a look, which only made MJ grow more in suspicion at what you were really up to.
Truth was, you were doing nothing, the only thing about to be done didn't happen, and you were talking at first, so not much of that was really a lie.
But thankfully your sister decides not to harass the two of you anymore, pulling out a book from her backpack, blocking the three of you out for the mean time.
"So, I was thinking.." Ned trails off, grabbing his backpack and unzipping the bag to dig through it.
"When we get into MIT, we should live together." The boy suggested as he pulled out his school laptop.
You smile at his words, nodding in agreement as did Peter.
"Yeah, for sure." The spider boy verbally agrees.
"Yeah, love that." MJ deadpans.
You ignore her, focusing your attention on the laptop that Ned had pulled out, showing the front page of MIT.
MJ looks up in curiosity, glancing at the laptop that was held on display for the three of you.
"This is gonna be us." Ned smiles.
"Sure." You say, whole heartedly agreeing with him.
"Minus the Frisbee and the smiling." MJ added, her face cringing at the mere image.
"MIT's obviously the dream, but if we match our backup schools, then either way we'll be in Boston." Peter countered with hope laced in his tone.
"New school, new town. I can Spider-Man there." The boy suggested, getting approving nods from MJ and Ned, turning his gaze to you and you shrug.
"They have crime in Boston, right?" Peter asked you absentmindly, you once again shrug, giving a verbal answer as well.
"Totally."
"Wicked crime" Ned adds in.
"It'll be like a fresh start." Peter states, still expectingly gazing upon you.
You reluctantly nod, sparing a glance at MJ, who's face fell from her grimace to a much more dreaded look.
Peter noticed the lack of the both of your hopeful faces, furrowing his eyebrows in wonder.
"What's up?" Peter questioned, darting his eyes in-between the two of you.
You told MJ about your doubts of the two of you getting to the same school, well not just the two of you, all of you, really. You never had a single doubt before, but now that the knowledge of Peter's secret identity was revealed, you feared that with you knowing him your chances would decrease.
You just wanted all of you to be in the same place at all times, safe and happy. It was easier said than done unfortunately.
"Nothing, it's just..." You trail off, not knowing how to word what you were feeling.
"If you expect disappointment, then you can never really get disappointed." You hear your sister say, the three of you turning your heads to look at the girl.
You nod at her words. It was something she would rarely say, this being the first time she shared her words to anyone in a long time.
"No, hey, come on." Peter says, taking a hold of your hand, before looking back at MJ.
"Be a fresh start, and we'll all be together." Peter reassured, his hold of your hand only tightening, showing you a reassuring smile.
There was something that lingered inside you at his words, you couldn't pinpoint it but you figured you best drop the uneasy feeling still stirring in your gut, giving your boyfriend a nod in agreement.
"Yeah, fresh start." You mutter, giving him a weak smile.
"Fresh start." Ned also says, placing his hand on top of yours and Peter's and when MJ didn't, the boy's other hand dragged her free one on top of his.
You had only hoped Peter's words were right. You couldn't bare another disappointment ensuing.

"WHAT THE FU-" You hear Peter's voice exclaim a car horn blocking out his profanity, from above you after the very shocking detail you already knew, but it being revealed to the entire Times Square, and most likely the entire world was nerve racking, your heart seeping below your chest at that mere thought.
"That's right folks, Peter Parker." Jameson says as it cuts back to him, saying your boyfriends name as if the picture wasn't already clear enough.
You ignore the murmurs of the people by you, your eyes looking up toward Peter, the back of his masked face meeting your gaze.
"A seventeen year old high school delinquent." He adds to the public. You had tried to listen to a few more of his words, but the citizens that were surrounding you started dragging their attention toward you.
You weren't much of a people person to begin with, which is why it was always hard for you to make friends. Your socially awkward personality only showing once more as the people around you started to pester you with questions related to the spider boy.
"She knows him."
"Are you Spider-Man's girlfriend?"
Questions and statements being thrown into your ear as people tried to gain your attention, tapping on your shoulder, your anxiety rising at the contact and the lack of air you were feeling from being too claustrophobic with how many people were practically suffocating you.
The man who asked if you were Spider-Man's significant other asked you once again, turning you around to face him and some more people who were just as curious.
"I-" You started, helplessly looking around, trying to get the people off of you in fear of the worst. You didn't want you knowing Spider-Man to harm you physically, so you tried your best to push them away without doing much effort.
Thankfully Peter caught onto your silent cry for help, jumping from the lamp post to come in-between you and the big crowd, your anxiety slowly going down now that he was near.
"Yo, it's him!"
"Spider-Man?!"
"Uh, whoa, whoa, whoa. Please don't touch her, sir." Peter warned the people who were jabbing at you, gently squeezing in-between you and the mob of people.
"You're just a kid?"
You give Peter a look, his hand on your shoulder, trying to guide you away from the people as they dazed at the two of you, most throwing insults and what not at your poor boyfriend in disbelief.
"You murdered Mysterio?"
"Um.." Peter trails off, hugging you closer to him.
"Peter..." You start, watching him quickly look at you as the once small crowd turns into a herd of people, swarming you and the boy like you were pieces of meat.
"We should get out of here." You suggested and he quickly nods.
"Come on kid, let me see the face!" A lady says before you two could go anywhere, lunging at him.
Your instinctive protectiveness comes in, you now hugging Peter closer to you away from the lady. Some citizens having a sense of morality, dragging the woman away from the two of you.
You swing a arm around his neck, his going to your waist as you two sprint through the crowd of people that seemed more like a mob waiting outside of a Taylor Swift concert.
"He hit me. Spider-Man hit me!" The same lady exclaims in a bare obvious lie, but you decide to ignore it.
You two swiftly get away from the people, who got crazier by the second, one boy even trying to jump onto the two of you as you now were swinging across the city.
You had momentarily forgotten just how scared of heights you were due to everything that happened in the pass thirty minutes.
"Oh god!" You scream, squeezing your eyes shut as your body was now tightly and hopefully securely wrapped around Peter's as he swung through the city away from the scene that unfolded in Times Square.
You had no idea where you two were going, but you supposed anywhere away from there was good enough, somewhere possibly more quiet where you two could collect your thoughts.
"Peter, where are we going?!" You managed to ask as your heart tightened in your chest with each swing the boy took.
"I don't know, your house?" Peter answered unsurely, he at this point was just aimlessly swinging around.
"No! Definitely not my house, my dad will kill you!" You tell him loudly, your eyes still closed at every word you said, you weren't going to risk letting your fear be just as worst if they were opened.
"What? I thought he was just starting to like me..." Peter replies in defeat.
"Well, not anymore." You scream.
Thankful to all the gods above, you and Peter land at the stable trusses of a bridge. The boy drops you down way too quickly for your liking and you have to fight your balance as to not fall, your boyfriend pulling out his phone to answer it.
"Dude!" You hear Ned yell as soon as Peter answers it.
"Dude!" Peter replies back in the same tone.
"Dude!"
"Dude!"
"Dude!" You say, miserably failing to keep your balance, Peter's attention shooting toward you in a heartbeat.
"Oh, right, sorry!" He sheepishly apologized, running over toward you to help you keep your feet stable.
"Are you okay?" Peter wavers, his question lingering in the air.
"Not at all." You admit for him and yourself.
One being, you were on top of a bridge, failing to keep your balance, your heart probably out of your chest out of fear, and two being because so much has happened in such a short amount of time. You don't think you can handle anything else any longer.
"I'm gonna get us out of here, okay?" He reassures and you nod.
"Yo, Peter!" Someone yells, your heads snapping to a few people in a gondola near the bridge.
A helicopter was soon to be seen, people from apartment buildings that sat outside their balconies watching as well. You wanted nothing more than to get out of here. The attention that you were receiving being too much for your liking.
"We should go." You tell him, already clinging to the boy and bracing yourself for the impact of his swinging.
"Right, yeah we should." Peter agreed, jumping from the trusses and swinging away from the attention, your screams weren't as loud as they were before, you kind of were getting used to it, but your heart dropped to its stomach every time no matter what.
"We're going to take the subway!" Peter yells at you throughout your screaming.
You don't answer as Peter free falls you two into a nearby sewer, his webbing opening it up as you two entered through it.
You could've sworn you saw Flash Thompson for a quick second, but you weren't all too sure.
Once you two entered the subway underneath the city, you opted on piggyback riding your boyfriend, feeling it'd be much more easier for the boy to navigate through the tight space.
"Peter!" You scream at him as a oncoming train approached you both, the spider boy dodging it a mere second later.
It felt like it had been forever when you two finally arrive at the ladder of a sewer exit, watching Peter climb it first before opening the round thing separating you two from New York, and you follow behind him. When you were close enough, Peter reaches out his hand to help you up.
"Thank you." You breathed out, giving your surroundings a quick look over, citizens who were walking the cemented sidewalk glancing at you, and you found it a little ironic how you two were in-front of Delmar's.
"Yeah, yeah, no problem. Are you okay?" Peter asked you as he placed the round covering of the sewer back into place.
"Yeah, I'm okay." You reassure him, once again wrapping your body around his before he swung off, his webbing attaching to a lamp post.
"We're going to go to my place." Peter tells you through the wind.
"Okay!" You yell at him, closing your eyes as you embraced his hold.
Four or five minutes go by as you two swung through the city to Peter's apartment, your eyes remained closed as you felt Peter's breathing at rapid speed, which was understandable given the circumstances of the current situation.
After the five minutes or less of you two swinging, you finally arrive at his bedroom window, the boy sticking to the brick wall next to it as you climb off to open his window.
He helps you inside, and you practically fall in relief onto his bed.
"Oh my god." Peter finally breaks after rushing inside, closing his window.
"Y/N-" Peter starts, your head snapping up to look at him as his hands were on his head, walking back and fourth between his room.
"Peter, it's okay." You try to reassure, but to no avail.
You knew it wasn't going to be okay, but you had no other choice but to say the words both you knew weren't true.
You quickly sit up from his bed, going over toward him, watching the boy press the spider on his suit in defeat, catching half of it before it can fall to the ground.
"It's not okay!" He argued back, snatching his mask off his head and throwing it elsewhere in his room and you place your hands on both sides of his face, trying to calm him down.
"Oh no." He groaned, shaking his head as he leaned into your touch.
"Peter." You say sternly.
"I don't know what to do!" Peter tells you as his hands wavered at your waist, his hands tightly gripping his suit.
"Peter, it's okay, everything going to be okay." You say with a nod just as the door opens, revealing Happy.
You and Peter quickly look over at the man whose face turns pale at the sight of you two.
"Oh, um.." You swallow, cringing at what it seemed like the two of you were doing given the face that Peter was half naked in-front of you, his suit falling from his hands watching Happy try to shut the door.
"I didn't see anything." Happy says, covering his face with his hand.
"Happy, it's not what it looks like!" Peter tries to reassure, your hands swiftly moving from Peter's face to your sides.
Peter's Aunt, who you had heard about comes into the room to see what was going on, her eyes quickly widening in disbelief.
"Oh!" She says, only seeing Peter's half naked body before going to shut the door once again.
"No, May, this is not what it looks like." Peter countered, and you nod in agreement at the inconvenient timing.
"Practice safe se-" May starts and your eyes widen as you furrow your eyebrows at what almost came out her mouth as she stops herself mid sentence.
"Oh, wait. Hi, you must be Y/N!" She says, coming back into the room where you awkwardly stood.
You quickly fix your (MJ's) cardigan, showing the lady, who was effortlessly gorgeous a forced smile as Peter nods before looking at his door.
"It's so nice to meet you, heard a lot about you." May tells you, giving you a friendly hug which you mirrored.
"'S nice to meet you too." You tell her quickly with a tight lipped smile as you two pull away.
You wished you had met the woman on better circumstances. The awkward tension only getting thicker by the second.
"Wait, have you been crying?" Peter asked Happy, who stood at the doorway with dried tears and a puffy face.
You tilt your head curiously, but quickly dismiss them looking over your boyfriend's room, having not been in here before.
He was a nerd for sure, a lot of dorky things decorated his room, things MJ would probably had made fun of him for.
"We broke up." The older man says shyly, peaking through the doorway.
"Oh." Peter says bewilderedly, you give his Aunt a look as she cringed sheepishly at his words.
"Hey, Spider-Man!" A man exclaimed through the window, and your mind trails back to why you really were here in the first place.
"Oh, uh.." The boy says in surprise, using his web shooters to close the blind of his window.
You notice a shirt laying on his bed, grabbing it quickly just as the light outside dims now that the blinds blocks the glaring sun from peaking in, as well as the people who for sure seen you two enter his apartment window.
You give a lazy smile to Happy, holding out the white T-shirt in-front of Peter, helping the boy into it quickly, hearing him mutter a 'Thank you'.
You catch glimpse at the "I survived my trip to New-York" graphic as Peter rushes May further into his apartment and away from his bedroom.
"I didn't know you guys broke up." He says as you trail behind the two of them, shutting his bedroom door.
"I thought you were in love, May." Peter quizzed bewilderedly.
"We can talk about this in the kitchen." He says, putting a reassuring arm over her shoulder as he walked her to their kitchen space.
Your phone buzzed in your skirt pocket, as you and Happy linger behind Peter and May as the boy confronted his aunt about her relationship issues.
You were just about to pull out the device, but a different kind of buzzing grabs your attention.
"Is that the door?" The man next to you asked, his gaze wandering over to the front door that was left open.
You quickly go to shut it as a neighbour stood in-front of it, asking all sorts of questions he most likely wasn't getting his answers to anytime soon.
"Nope!" You say, shutting the door into his face, before pulling out your phone.
There was six missed calls from your dad and a text message from your sister, telling you to call her with a few emojis that you deciphered to be related to what was currently going on.
You unlock your phone going to your contacts to call MJ.
After a few rings, you hear her pick up.
"Oh my god, Y/N are you okay? Have you seen the news?" MJ practically exclaims from the other end of the phone.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm at Peter's right now, it's really crazy." You tell her, keeping your voice down as you absentmindly wandered to the kitchen.
There was so much to be said, but you figured you'd wait till you got home to tell your sister exactly what happened, but you had a feeling you didn't need to given that she was there with you every step of the way and most likely seen the news or she wouldn't had been calling to ask.
"Is Peter okay?" She questioned.
You had no idea if you should answer that truthfully, with a half truth, or just lie instead. No one but Peter knows if he's actually okay, but you knew he wasn't okay with anything that was going on. To be fair, there were more ways she could be indicating the question, but you were lost at this point.
"I don't know, I-" You start, watching your boyfriend helplessly close the blinds in the living room as May and Happy now sat down in-front of the TV from the couch.
"Can you please get off your phones for five minutes. I just wanna talk to you about your relationship, okay?" Peter countered to the two adults as the background of the news channel played behind him, and your eyes widen as you adjust your gaze to recognize the building.
"MJ, let me call you back." You, hanging up the phone before she could say anything.
"Peter."Your voice says before your mind can register, pointing behind him after gaining his attention.
He turns around to look at the source of his TV, a few helicopters swarming around his apartment building, making their way over to one of the living room windows.
"Is that here?" Happy asked, his voice laced with a skeptic tone.
Peter seemed to be at a lost for his words, not knowing what to say as he stutters out a proper response, tilting his head down in defeat before shamelessly walking toward the window he had closed with his web shooters, opening it up to reveal the outside world he tried to shield them from.
May, Happy, and yourself walk over to the small window, curious to see just how bad the damage really was.
You stand next to your boyfriend, sharing a look with him as Happy and May look outside of the apartment place in utter disbelief.
"Wha-" May starts, but cuts herself off as a few pedestrians below yell out Peter's name, looking up to the window where the helicopters were aimed at.
"I mean, maybe it's not so bad?" Peter shrugged hopefully, his Aunt shooting him a worried look.
You were glad she was less mad and more worried.
You on the other hand, a shaking anxious mess, still recovering from the many people that lingered around you, and the amount of swinging you swore you'd never do again still crawling over your body. You had no idea how bad things would get from here on out.
Tumblr media
"Spider-Menace!" Jameson exclaims from the TV in your living room. You could almost roll your eyes at his dramatics.
After the fiasco that took place at Peter's house, he and his Aunt figured it be best to take you home, as they tried to figure out what to do with the boy's identity being revealed to the whole wide world.
As soon as you get home you were bombarded with questions from your dad, who was more worried than mad at you for being with Peter. He was surprisingly understanding with the situation, but he never liked Spider-Man to begin with so you knew that after the situation died down, he'd dislike Peter more than he did before after finding out about his second identity.
MJ on the other hand already knew exactly how you were feeling. Her mind was racing with thoughts, thoughts only she knew you'd understand. There was nothing the two of you could do but hope for the best out of this situation.
"Governments around the world launch investigations into the murderer known as Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker, aka the web headed war criminal, who for years, has been terrorizing  the decent citizens of New York." The bias anchor exaggerates, and you let out a scoff from where you sat next to MJ, both you now cladding your pyjamas after a long day, well, long day for you at least.
Your heart only drops at the digital news paper that had, you, Peter, MJ, and Ned's face plastered on the front cover, the title saying "Peter's cronies revealed", before cutting to different digital magazines, and a brief footage of some jerk throwing slime onto Peter's suit.
"Well, now this city and the world see him for what he truly is."
You tune out the TV, sharing a look with MJ as your dad divides nothing but his full attention toward the TV. You feared he'd force you to break up with Peter, and you didn't want that one bit.
All three of your gazes break from the TV as a loud and obnoxious knock goes at your door.
Your dad quickly stands up from his spot from the couch, going over to the door, opening it to reveal a few agents, and a another one, holding a badge out.
You and MJ go to the door, lingering behind your father.
"Mr. Jones?" The guy asked, his voice stern.
"Yeah?" Your dad confirms with slow nod.
"We're the Department of Damage Control." The agent says, and MJ shoots you a look, and you shake your head quickly.
"Dad-" You start, but the agent cuts you off.
"We have a warrant for the arrest of your two daughters, Michelle Jones-Watson, and Y/N Jones-Watson." The man tells him, closing his badge before shoving it into his pocket.
"Arrest?" You father's eyes widen in disbelief, looking behind him at the two of you as your face falls in fear, MJ taking ahold of your hand.
"We just want to ask them a few questions, we promise to bring them back as soon as we're done." The Agent reassures, not sounding convincing at all.
Your father ponders, also not trusting the agent, but what was he to do? He couldn't refuse, but he also didn't want the two of you to face any charges or dangerous consequences.
"If you refuse, we will arrest you as well." He adds nonchalantly.
Your dad lets out a defeated sigh, giving you two an apologetic look, and you shrug sadly, your dad moving to the side to hesitantly let the agents inside.
Tumblr media
You and MJ had arrived at the Damage Control's building after arguing with the agents to at least let you two change out of your pyjamas, wanting to look decent if you were about to get interrogated for no absolute reason.
Once you enter the building, a few of the agents lead you two to a investigation room you presumed, and at some point before you entered the building, May and Ned had joined you two as they guided you inside.
Your eyes quickly widen, seeing a familiar head set of brown curls inside an interrogation room, his face filled with worry.
"Peter!" You exclaim, the agents now quickening their pace behind you, slightly pushing you, your sister, Ned and Peter's Aunt away from him.
"Y/N!" Peter's muffled voice responds back from behind the glass.
He points to the four of you, saying something you couldn't quite catch, his gaze now on the agent standing above him.
You didn't want Peter to say anything he shouldn't say, hoping his smart personality had a chance to play through as he was interrogated by the man above him. You only hoped he didn't say anything he wasn't supposed to say already.
"Don't say anything without a lawyer!" You shout at him, May and MJ mirroring your words at the same time. You weren't expecting it, but happy they both had the right mindset you had as well.
Tumblr media
When you four had made it into the further part of the building into more interrogation rooms, Ned and May were separated into two rooms by themselves, and you and your sister (mainly just her) told the agents you weren't going to say or admit anything to the them if you weren't by each-other's side.
They were reluctant at first, but when you two put your foot down once more, they gave in and put the two of you in the same room.
A few minutes had went by before the agent, whose name was Clearly, comes inside the room, you two expectingly waiting in boredom.
The agent sits down without saying a word, opening up one of the two files that sat in his hand, you glance at it, realizing it was your file, and you cringe subconsciously.
"We want a lawyer." MJ tells Agent Clearly, as he settles down, you break your gaze away from the file and up at the man.
"Mses. Jones-Watson-" The agent starts, but you cut him, shaking your head in disapproval at this address in-correction.
"Jones, we don't go by Watson." You quickly say, your sister giving you a nod from your peripheral vision.
He nods in understanding before clearing his throat.
"Mses, Jones, why do you want a lawyer if-" The agent starts.
"If we have nothing to hide?" You cut him off with a raised eyebrow.
"Exactly, Unless-" Agent Clearly starts as he raises both his eyebrows expectingly looking in-between the both of you.
"We're actually guilty of something?" MJ adds, cutting him off as well, the agent letting out a low impressed hum.
"We are very aware of your tactics and our rights." Your sister informs, she nudges your shoulder, gesturing her head at the false mirror next to you.
There was most likely someone on the other side who could see you through the window that's behind the so called mirror. You watched enough true crimes to know all that you needed already.
You and MJ wave at the person who was listening behind the 'mirror'.
"Just answer my questions." The agent sighed, you could feel his annoyed energy radiating off him.
"I've seen your files. You both are smart, young women with bright futures ahead of you." He informed the two of you, and your gaze slowly turned back to the man in question.
MJ poked her tongue against the inside of her cheek, also glaring at the man who really tried to break through the two of you, but to no avail.
"Why would you risk it all by getting involved with a vigilante like Peter Parker?" Agent Clearly asked the two of you, but he shifts his gaze to you after he finished.
You wouldn't give him the satisfactory of an answer, sharing a look with MJ, who shrugs, and you look back at the agent who was probably awaiting for your answer(s).
After a few heartbeats of silence, the man sighs in defeat, shaking his head before looking over at the false mirror, gesturing for the person behind it to dismiss the interrogation. He slowly gets up from his seat, collecting the files as you and your sister remain silent.
"Let me know when you're ready to answer my questions." The agent says, leaving the room hesitantly.
You were already facing trouble, no sense in causing more.
Tumblr media
As promised, later that night you and MJ arrive back at your apartment. Your dad was sound asleep in the living room and you didn't want to wake him, the TV being the comfort background noise for his sleeping figure.
"Hey..." MJ says, breaking your gaze from your sleeping dad, and you turn to face her with raised eyebrows.
"We'll get through this." She says after you meet her brown eyed stare.
You nod, swallowing the lump you fought so hard against throughout the day down your throat.
"I know." You tell her, going in for a hug, which she reciprocates.
You two pull away after a minute of just embracing each-other. You were glad you had someone to go through this with, and you were also glad Peter had you as well. You knew this was the toughest on him and you would do anything to be with him right now, hoping you could make him feel better, feel safer, but you knew your dad would probably limit your hang out time with the boy.
Peter needed you just as much as you needed him. You knew he would get through this, he was the strongest person you knew.

YOUR DATE WITH PETER WAS GOING AMAZING. You'd never would had thought someone like him could be such a romantic. Not that you're complaining, but given how long you've known the boy, it was hard to assume he could be the movie sort of romantic guy.
Your date consisted of a walk in Central Park ( a classic) and some ice cream from the local convenient store because fall was approaching rather quickly and the ice cream truck was no longer in season.
Now to be fair, you were never a hopeless romantic type, but when you had met Peter, he changed your life (in more ways than some). He had made you see the colour you were too blind to see because your life was always filled with darkness by choice. He helped you be more optimistic than pessimistic as you always were. You felt as if Peter was the sun to your moon, and sure that was probably cheesy but it was the honest truth.
Currently, you two were hand in hand, walking to your apartment instead of swinging, because you were afraid of heights and of course you trust Peter with your entire life, but being more than three feet above the ground was a terrifying thought.
When you had found out about your boyfriend being the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, it was when you and your friends were on the school trip that quickly turned to hell. You had always had an inkling that he was your city's hero, but you were never really sure. It wasn't until your sister Michelle, told you her suspicions as well, and you were eyeing him ever since. Of course you only eyed him for that one reason, well that's not true, you had eyed him because one, you wanted to know if he was Spider-Man, and two, you had an major crush on him.
It wasn't major per se, but every time you secretly read a romance novel, you'd picture the two main characters were yourself and Peter, an insane thing to think, but you couldn't help it.
After the school trip, and Mysterio's pandemonium, Peter confessed just how much he liked you, which was a total surprise to you. You had always thought it was one sided, and he had his eyes set on your sister, but it only seemed that way because the boy is truly just that awkward.
You're glad things are the way they are for now.
"So, same time tomorrow?" Peter asked, swinging your hands back and fourth, the upcoming August wind blowing mercifully against your faces.
"A second date?" You quizzed, gazing at him with a small smile.
Peter shrugs.
"Sure, why not." He smiled back, giving your hand a soft squeeze.
Given this was your first official date after all the chaos that happened on your trip, you couldn't really say no to a second one, knowing that since this one went without problems and normality, the second one shouldn't be as bad.
"I'd love to." You beamed just as you two arrived at your apartment building.
"Awesome." Peter smiled, letting go of your hand, watching your figure walk to the building's doubled doors as you opened it, stopping in your tracks to turn around to give him a final wave, which he reciprocated.
Your building wasn't fancy, not that you mind, and you were grateful you had a place to live, to be able to go to sleep in a nice warm not so comfy bed.
You walked up the stairs to your complex, and you would had took the elevator if it wasn't broken for the fourth time this month.
Your phone dinged with a notification, a text from Peter asking if you made it to your door okay, and your heart flutters at his thoughtful concern. You reply with a 'yes', grabbing your key from the back of your pocket and putting it in the keyhole before unlocking it.
Once you entered the abode, you're hit with a familiarity of books, the pages either crumbled or worn out with a tear. The soft noises of the TV in the living room filling your ears and being the curious person you are, you travel to the noise.
Your father is sitting on the couch, watching an old show made in the sixties, a habit you adored about him.
"Hey." You greet him, setting down the flower Peter had gave you when he arrived at your apartment, into an empty flower vase on the end table next to the couch.
"Hey hun, how was your hangout with your friend?" He asked, turning his attention away from the TV to look at you.
"Dad for the last time, it was a date, not a hangout." You corrected, rolling your eyes as you fixed the flower into the vase.
You had told your father about the date, and also about the fact you were dating Peter, but he was either forgetful or just didn't really like the idea of you dating anyone. Peter tried his hardest to make your dad appreciate him, but it was pointless, and that may be because your dad did not care about his attempts of overawe.
"Oh, right. With Peter?" He quizzed, raising an eyebrow.
You hum out your response, flipping over the ceramic flower necklace attached to your neck.
It was a white astrantia flower, one of the petals cracked, but you didn't mind, it still had special meaning and gave it a sort of character, you suppose. Peter had given it to you shortly before his confession back in London on the landmark bridge. He rambled about what it meant to you and why he was going to give it to you and you only had smiled and gave his cheek a quick peck to shut him up.
The flower meant a lot to you, because anyone and everyone you met had told you how strong you were and how you would be the first to defend anyone you cared for. Your bravery was an inspiration to others, something Peter would remind you of any chance he got.
"Your sister should be home from her shift shortly." You hear your dad tell you as you make your way to your bedroom.
You say nothing, going to your bedroom and closing the door.
Your room wasn't much, just a room filled with shelfs of clutter and books, notes of affirmation attached to your wall near your closet, and Polaroids above the headboard of your bed that consisted of pictures from your trip and adventures with MJ.
Your favourite polaroid was your recent one with Peter, the two of you sharing a ice cream, but instead of the two of you being a cliche and licking it, you were holding up the cone as ice cream melted, a bright smile adorning your face as Peter reciprocated it, his hand also nursing the waffle cone.
You grabbed a pin from the drawer of the nightstand near your bed, your grip on the polaroid picture, closing the drawer and climbing on your bed holding the picture to the pinboard.
Before you could put the photo on the pinboard your sister practically bursts through your bedroom door, causing you to drop the polaroid, it slipping between your headboard and falling under your bed. You mutter a curse, getting off your bed and turning your gaze toward MJ.
"Sup, loser." She greets with a straight face, decorated in her work attire, her teal shirt with a hint of pink on the end of the sleeves the same pink colour also peaking from her collar, a mess.
"What happened?" You question, ignoring her greeting as you gestured toward her shirt that had a few stains.
"Some moron didn't know how to drink coffee, and I tripped with a donut in my hand." MJ shrugs, going over to your bed before laying down with a huff.
You nod, doing the same.
"Sounds horrific." You say, placing your hands on your stomach.
"How was your movie cliche date with spider boy?" MJ asked with a hint of curiosity.
It made sense sister knew Peter was Spider-Man. You had nothing to do with her finding out, she told you how it was kind of obvious to begin with and she confronted him before things took turn for the worst during your time in London.
"It was," You started, pondering your thoughts as the curly haired girl expectingly looked at you. "Surprisingly great." You finished with a smile, your sister rolling her eyes.
"I always knew he'd turn you sappy." She sighed, sitting up from the bed, scanning your room.
You roll your eyes as well, staring at the ceiling.
"You're just jealous." You say back.
"I have Ned." MJ joked, causing you to chuckle.
"You apply to MIT yet?" She asked quietly, fiddling with her hands.
"Yup, just waiting for the letter." You tell her quickly, feeling your heart tighten in your chest at the mere thought of rejection.
You, MJ, Peter, and Ned had this almost impossible plan to apply for the same college, because you four were just that inseparable and even if you and MJ breathed being introverts, you were genuinely glad you met Peter and Ned. One being your best friend and significant other and the other being your best friend, but together, you'd die for them.
"Same." MJ says with a smile before the girl gets up from your bed and makes her way to your door.
"I'll be with Peter tomorrow for our second date." You tell her randomly.
"Gross." Is the last thing she says, exiting your room as the door closes.
You roll your eyes, dismissing her comment before turning off your light to enter a much needed slumber, anticipating tomorrow, your mind already filling with the things you and Peter could do.

you: don't swing and text :)
You quickly stuff your phone in your pocket after sending the message to Peter, warning him about his bad habit of swinging and texting. You were already nervous with the date you didn't expect, but adding him and his hazard swinging to the mix wasn't helping.
Unfortunately for you, Peter had insisted that you two go on a swinging date, then go to Delmar's, which was at it's third instalment, and he promised for your third date that he would let you pick out what you two could do. You would hold him to that too.
You had hope that your current outfit was too much of a hassle for Peter to navigate with, because you know it would be difficult if he had to swing with you with the outfit you were wearing.
Your outfit wasn't plain, but it also wasn't extravagant either. You had barely just any energy when you were picking it out. You had borrowed a grey cable knit cardigan from MJ's closet, hoping your sister wouldn't notice, but given her observant personality, you doubt she wouldn't. You had paired it with a charlotte skirt you found in your closet with your black high top converses, because well, why not?
It wasn't that you didn't want to swing around with Peter, but you didn't, at all. There was nothing the boy could do that would convince you to do it, not anything that you knew would work. Somehow though, he convinced you anyway saying it would be fun, and a "one time thing only", which you only hoped was true.
A knock at your window broke you from your thoughts, your attention gazing over toward Peter, who was in his newly made suit, the classic red colour now assigned with black.
You send him a smile, going to your window and opening it to let him in.
"Sorry I took too long, there was this whole thing with Happy and May that I had to sort out, then it got all weird so I just left." The boy rambled, entering your room before taking off his mask.
"It's okay." You laughed, fighting the urge to fix his unruly curls.
"You look great, by the way." Peter adds quickly with a flustered face.
It always amazed you at how shy and awkward Peter could be at times when it came to complimenting you, or just giving you words of affirmation at any given time. It quite literally surprised you when he had the guts to ask you to be his girlfriend.
"Thanks, you too." You say just as shyly. You had no idea why you had said that anyway, he was only wearing his Spider-Man suit, but it was still the truth anyhow.
"I only wore this because I didn't want to go swinging." You admitted, watching the boy give you an eye roll.
"I promise it's not that bad, not unless you make it that way." Peter tells you, approaching your figure before taking both your hands in his spandex covered ones.
"And I promise to never let you fall. I will always be the one to catch you." He adds sincerely, and you swear your heart grows three sizes at his words.
Like you said before, Peter always finds a way to give you words of affirmation no matter what.
You give him a shy smile, your cheeks practically burning at his words, giving his left one a peck.
"Alright, let's go before I change my mind." You tell him, the boy letting out a breathy chuckle.
"Okay, okay." Peter says, tugging his mask back onto his face.
"Is MJ here?" He questioned as he exited your room, sticking to the building in front of your window.
"Yeah, why?" You ask, taking a hold of his hand he had it held out for you.
You wrap your legs around his hips, connecting your arms around his neck, clinging onto the boy for dear life and he wasn't even swinging yet.
"Just asking." Peter shrugs, closing your window for you.
"Ready?" He asked, one hand gripping around your waist.
"Never."
"Great!"
Everything happens rather quickly from you two being still at the outside of your window to Peter all too swiftly, without warning swinging you both through the city, your heart pounding wildly against your chest.
"Oh my god!" You scream, closing your eyes as you bypassed buildings, burying your head into his neck.
Your boyfriend seemed to pay no mind to your screeching. It surprised you, supposing you were quite literally screaming into his ear, which you hoped you didn't do too much damage to. However, your heart was no longer in your chest, instead at the bottom of your stomach, you felt like you were going to puke.
What really surprised you throughout this whole torturous swinging was the fact your skirt wasn't a problem at all, not that it would've been anyway because you were smart enough to wear shorts underneath.
"I'm not looking! I'm not looking!" You continue your whines, feeling the swift wind blowing wildly in your face, hearing Peter's cheers as you continue to navigate through the city.
Peter was keened on making sure you felt safe when swinging with him, though you did, it still didn't help with your fear of heights. Sure, you hated this, but you know somewhere deep down inside of you, you enjoyed this, maybe just for a bit though.
You let him be in the moment, him at one point doing some sort of trick where it seemed he was going to drop you, but doesn't, something that made you let out a loud throaty screech in fear.
After awhile though, the swinging thankfully comes to an end after your pleading of asking him to drop you in the middle of Times Square.
When he does, you two land near a lamp post, your hair that was in an up do, probably a mess from the rush of wind you induced.
"You okay?" Peter concerns, watching your body relax as you catch your breath.
You nod, unable to form any words, your throat aching from all the screaming you did.
"Yeah, just-" You start, "never do that again." You warned him, watching him nod in understanding.
"Ever." You added, making him laugh.
"Alright." Peter reassures.
"You still want to go to Delmar's?" Peter asked unsurely, tilting his head in curiosity.
You thought about his question for a moment. He did promise you he would, but in all honesty you really didn't feel like it, at least you thought you didn't. Plus Delmar's was all the way in Queens while you two were standing in the middle of Times Square, which wasn't anywhere near the deli.
"Maybe tomorrow?" You suggested raising an eyebrow.
"Oh okay, sure." He agreed.
"I'll just have my dad pick me up, because, you know." You tell him, hoping he caught on to what you were trying to get at.
"Right, understandable." Peter chuckles.
"See you tomorrow?" He questioned, and you give him a nod as your answer before going in for a hug.
You two mutter your goodbyes, you watch the spider boy swing to the lamp post you were near, causing the birds that were sitting there to fly away in alarm.
You were just about to pull out your phone to call your dad to pick you up, the spider boy also about to leave before something on one of the many screens in the Square catch your attention.
"This is breaking news." the anchor from a Led screen announces, dragging most of the civilians who were wandering the Square's attention, as well.
"We come to you know with revelations about last week's attack in London." An anchor on a big screen you were staring at says, Peter turning around to look at another one on a much bigger screen.
You furrow your eyebrows in confusion, curious as to what new information could possibly be provided.
"An anonymous source provided this video." The anchor says, your eyes gaze to Peter who was already looking down at you. It didn't take a genius to know that he was confused and fearful underneath his mask.
"It shows Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, moments before his death." The man adds, a small crowd gathering near you to watch the screen.
"A warning, you may find this video disturbing." He adds.
Your head unknowingly tilts in confusion, watching the screen switch from the news man to a video footage of the former villian at the London bridge.
"I managed to send the Elemental through the rift." Beck says fearfully.
"But I don't think I'm gonna make it." He exclaims, and you almost could roll your eyes at his victimized act.
"Spider-Man attacked me for some reason." Beck lies straight through his teeth, you knew it was a bold face one, Peter as well, but you feared the many people that lingered around you who was either watching or not would believe him. You really hoped they didn't.
"He has an army of weaponized drones, Stark technology." He informs wearily, the video glitching every chance it got.
The ironic part about that sentence was that army of drones were his weapon, the same weapon the man used to try to delusion you and your friends, the same weaponized drones that he tried to kill you with. Somehow, he managed to make it seem like Peter was using the Stark technology for bad reasons, which wasn't the case at all.
"He's saying he's the only one who's gonna be the new Iron man." Beck spits out yet another lie.
Your face falls in disbelief, no longer in its curious expression as it was before, you glance at a couple people who had their phones out, recording the scene ahead of them.
The footage then glitches, or cuts to a new footage of Mysterio, or Beck, laying limp on the ground as Peter stood before him, talking to the AI glasses Tony Stark had given him, EDITH.
"Are you sure you want to commence the drone attack?" The AI lady's voice asked.
"There will be significant casualties." She warned.
"Do it. Execute them all." Peter tells, but from your knowledge you can tell the video is heavily edited, chunks of what actually happened cut out for reasons you weren't so sure of.
Gun shots were being fired in the video, most likely destroying the drones, but it probably seemed as if it was doing something way worst, you had no idea since Peter was the only one there, able to know what actually happened.
"This shocking video was released earlier today." The anchor mans says, coming back into frame of the screen, and you feared the worst.
"On the controversial news website." The man adds, and you figured it was probably the Daily Bugle, to which was true since the man says it anyway, the screen cutting to the news website, showing a grumpy old man known as J. Jonah Jameson.
"There you have it folks, conclusive proof that Spider-Man was responsible for the murder of Mysterio." Jameson informed.
You gave your surroundings a quick look over, the crowd that was small much more bigger.
"An interdimensional warrior who gave his life to protect our planet and who will no doubt go down in history as the greatest superhero of all time." You watch the bias anchor say, you were now starting to see why this news website was so controversial, your blood boiling at the praise Beck was receiving undeservingly.
Peter once again looks at you, and if you weren't so focused on his reaction you'd miss his body demeanour practically pleading for the both of you to get out of there, not wanting to face the public any longer.
You were about to call out his name, but the next words from the screen stops you.
"But that's not all folks." Jameson exclaims, your head snapping back toward the screen in-sync with Peter's.
"Here's the real blockbuster." He says and your face turns into yet another curious expression, your eyebrows furrowed.
"Brace yourselves. You might wanna sit." Jameson warns.
The screen shows Beck once again, the video glitching more evident this time, due to the damage it had most likely faced.
"Spider-Man's real-" The man starts, the video footage glitching. "Spider-Man's real name is-" He tries again, looking around in alert before the screen glitches to black for a second, and your heartbeat quickens, hoping what you think was about to happen didn't.
Unfortunately the screen glitches back to Beck, his face only getting inhumanly bigger on the screen as the worst came to settlement, his final words shocking everyone around you.
"Spider-Man's name is Peter Parker!" Beck exclaims, the video cutting to an familiar image of your boyfriend, being plastered on many Led screens in the Times Square.
"Oh, shit." You say with dread, hearing people gasp in disbelief, a few citizens pointed to your boyfriend who still remained sat on the lamp post.
What was supposed to be an innocent date, turned into something much worst. You had no idea what to do, and you figured neither did Peter, the one who surely whose head probably was exploding with a million thoughts.

Someone once told you that, even when something slips your mind, trust that it will find its way back to you. You always deemed this true, everything always sought out to swivel into your prosperity no matter how impossible you thought it to be.
It was like you were a ladybug, always lucky. Well, you'd like to think that was the case, in reality it wasn't even close. The past few months were hell. Not only for you, but for your best friend Peter Parker.
He had to deal with the heavy weight instantaneously put upon his shoulders. The consequence of figuring out how to live a life he wrestled so hard to keep private. You knew Peter thought the burden of the entire world perceiving his double life drained him completely. It was not as if he had cut everyone who already knew of him being Spider-Man out his life, no, if anything it only made him want to protect them more.
The hardship the poor boy went through in just the last few months made your heart ache, knowing how difficult it was for him to function without the help of his mentor. You reached out to Peter every single day, making sure he remembered there were people who cared for him and he could turn to.
As for you, being a friend of Spider-Man (or as Ned likes to say, "F.O.S") is a tough task. The stares you received not only in school, but in public were haunting. You knew everyone was judging you for being involved with who they believed was a murderer. It was nauseating to even think about, because Peter is anything but that. He's kind, caring, and modest. The boy couldn't even kill a fly if the opportunity was presented to him.
No one understood the boy, now that the secret was out. The whole world was against him, or at least majority of the world. Michelle informed you that he didn't really enjoy this particular version of fame he gained, and you couldn't help but agree.
When you heard of Peter's visit with Doctor Strange, you learn he tried in his own way to make things right again. He asked the wizard (who you didn't think was very kind based off your brief interaction with him) to cast a spell that would make the whole world forget he was Spider-Man in hopes that he could reverse what ruined you and your friends' chances of getting into college.
Peter being Peter finds a way to mess it up, which not only decreased his chances of ever having the world forget of his vigilance, but he apparently opened the multiverse. It allowed villains who knew of your friend being Spider-Man from other universes to enter your world, and the entire thing was damn near impossible to believe.
At first, you couldn't wrap your head around anything that was told to you, that was until Peter shows you proof of his encountrment with a man with literal mechanical octopus arms, a dinosaur—or more appropriately, a lizard, a man made of sand, and another one who produced electricity from his body.
Your friend felt responsible to help them. After learning their fates, which meant if he sent any of them back to their respectable worlds, they'd die. It wasn't an ideal situation, and Peter was noble, too noble. He wanted to cure them, to give them a second chance.
Reluctantly, you accepted his wishes of wanting you, MJ, and Ned's help, because he was your friend and if wanting to cure random villains from different universes cleared his mind of the world knowing his second life, then you'd be right by his side.
You thought the whole mission to cure would be an easy task, but you were so, so wrong.
Ned offered you and MJ to stay with him at his Nona's while Peter handled the more difficult part of the curing obstacle, and later that night is where you and your friends discovered the horrible, devastating news.
A anarchic consequence. Looking at the TV where the news played, you absorb the information of May's death. You didn't want to believe the details you consumed, because May was almost like a mother to you, and she loved you as much as she loved Peter. You did not even want to think about what was going through Peter's mind, and you just hope the poor boy was not spiralling.
If you know your best friend, you know that when he spirals, he often isolates himself from everyone and everything. It's a habit you wish he would break, but you suppose anything as heart aching as losing your mother like figure, the choice of isolation is certainly necessary.
You and MJ argue with Ned of wanting to find Peter, making sure he was okay. Before the two of you could walk out the door, Ned reveals that he was in possession of Doctor Strange's sling ring Peter had given him. He concocted the idea that with the ring, it would be easier to find Peter.
Sharing a look with MJ, you shrug and allow Peter's other best friend to give his idea a shot.
However, when Ned tries to use the ring and concentrates on wanting to find Peter, he finds two older versions of him.
You were in utter awe at this revelation. Two other variants of your best friend almost felt like a dream you could not wake up from.
Eventually after what seemed forever you finally find your Peter, on the roof of your school. When you hug him, immediately engulfing him in your warmth, he breaks down in your arms. It broke your heart, to see Peter so dejected. You wanted to take the pain away. Wanted to remind him that no matter what, you would be there.
The two other Peter's connect and share similar experiences, and encourage your friend to continue fighting.
After the words of encouragement, a new plan came about and Peter, you and your friends team up with the two other world Spider-Men to develop a more strategized cure for the villains.
Finally, you were all lead to the final confrontation at the Statue of Liberty, which is being renovated into Caption America's shield, in honour of him you assume.
MJ, Ned and yourself manage to help Peter cure the multiverse villains, but not without obvious obstacles. The difficult of such tasks lead to an almost devastating conclusion. The last villain, being the Green Goblin was twisted, wicked even. You pursued that he was the reason for May's life being taken. In the final moments of the battle, the Green Goblin's aggression reaches its peak.
His aggressive tactics, throwing pumpkin bombs and using his glider caused a significant amount of damage to the structure of the Statue of Liberty. Almost concluded in the death of your friend MJ. Thankfully the second eldest Peter caught your friend in time, but unfortunately for you as the structure falls, along with the shield, so do you.
Death for you, never was a thing you'd think about too often. Sometimes maybe a second thought, but not mindful enough to be taken serious. Sure, you wondered what it would feel like, or even be. Once you die, would you fall into an endless sleep, or would you see nothing forever? As you fell, death was all you could think about, of course. You hope once you reach the bottom of your fate, you wouldn't have to feel the pain and the demise would swallow you right away. You also hoped that Peter somehow, once you were gone, knew how much he meant to you. Knew how much you loved him as more than a friend.
As cliche as it is to be in love with your best friend, you fantasized the intention of being with him no matter how hard you didn't want to, knowing you shouldn't be allowed to even feel as much love for him as you did.
Deep down, you knew Peter deserves to be loved, and you were glad he found it within you, platonically. You could die happy with that acknowledgement.
Before the dark angel could even reach its hand out to you, you drop into familiar arms. Peter quickly swings you to the now fallen shield, holding you as you register the last thirty seconds, the cogs turning in your brain. You stare at your friend like a deer in headlights as he carefully puts you down.
Surely you thought death was on the doorstep.
"Are you okay?" He asks, his gaze carefully supervising your every move.
You nod your response as you look around, allowing your heavy breathing to mellow out.
"I thought—" You start as Peter steps closer.
"I know, I know. You're okay." He reassures, and you examine him, noticing his right eye. Blood invaded around his pupil and you scan the rest of his features, the identical crimson red colour decorated his face as well as a few bruises.
You hug the boy without a second thought, and in turn he accepts.
When Peter pulls away, you feel the word vomit take over you, and you open your mouth to say something.
Before the words you so desperately wanted to say could leave you, you glance behind Peter at the man responsible for May's death, a shiver running down your spine when as you feel a almost sinister shift in the air overtake.
Peter taking notice of your expression turns around in confusion.
It was almost uncanny, frightening and astonishing how swiftly you watch Peter's mood change from concern to instant anger. Not the typical anger someone feels, no, you could practically endure his revise. The boy looked murderous. The switch being so drastically different to the Peter you thought you knew made you question if you even knew him at all.
This was the same Peter Parker who you believed would never hurt a fly, the same Peter Parker who did not even want to idealize the concept of murder. Yet, here he was standing in front of you with a rage so intense, you step back in fear of what was to come.
"Poor Peter. Too weak to send me home to die." The Green Goblin grin was troublesome as he spoke.
"No," You friend starts. "I just wanna kill you myself." Peter's was raspy and low with anger.
“Attaboy.” The man grinned.
Enraged, Peter rushes at the Green Goblin, and boy do they clash. Your eyes widen at the scene taking place in front of you. The spider-boy pummels him with a murderous intensity. The Goblin breaks free, releasing his arm blades and swings them at your friend.
You gasp in horror, completely frozen. Watching such an extreme unfold before you was mind boggling, and the thoughts creeping in your head made you want to try and do something, but what could you do? Peter had the upper hand and it was brutal, so of course you were stuck in place out of fear.
Peter batters the Goblin until he's down on his knees, and unfortunately for the villain more barrage of punches given from the boy are received and the Goblin collapses to the ground, spent.
The fearsome inside of you increased and for some reason, tears threatened your eyes. You never really were a crier, but watching your best friend lay into Goblin, who took punch after punch caused unwanted emotions to course through you. You were so beyond scared at the person you swore you understood.
Observing the Goblin carefully, you don't realize your Peter grab the villain's glider, which was crashed at the base of the shield.
He drifts towards the Goblin, murder in his eyes, lifting the glider over his head and you register the fact that he had no intentions of coming to his senses.
Peter screams, unrelenting, about to bring the gleaming blade down on the helpless villain.
"Peter—" You cry as the much older version of himself steps in front of your Peter, a pleading look on his face, one you recognize.
Slowly, your friend snaps out of his angry, murderous intentions and relaxes. You observe the wordless understanding between the two Peter Parkers.
Shunk.
The familiar welch of skin being stabbed fills your ears, and the oldest Peter's face falls.
A grimace etches on your face, watching the Goblin stab the elder Spider-Man in the back.
The pumpkin bomb throwing villain staggers upright as his victim falls before him, clearly eager for more. He glances at you, and you take a unconscious step back, despite being at a safe distance already.
You could tell the man was taunting Peter as he looks over at him again.
"She was there because of you." The Goblin smiles, and Peter faces him, eyes narrowing.
"I may have struck the blow, but you." He laughs. "You are the one that killed her." The goblin cackles with glee at his own words.
You gaze at Peter just in time, eyeing as the second oldest version of himself throws the Goblin's cure, your Peter grabs it and briskly stabs the cackling villain in the neck. You watch the man stagger, shocked and in pain.
You breathe a sigh of relief.
Goblin falls back on his haunches, then a glint of recognition settles within him.
"Peter?" Norman stares at your friend in confusion as his eyes drift down to an injured version of your Peter, and if you didn't know any better, the look on his face seemed almost remorseful.
"What have I done?"
Eventually after all villains are cured, you step back to let your friend have his heart to heart moment with the other versions of himself. The only thing you wanted to do was search for MJ and Ned, hoping them to be okay.
However, your thought train is interrupted as your friend approaches you.
"I have a plan," Is the first thing he says to you once he's close.
"You have a plan?" You furrow your eyebrows.
Peter nods and he stares at you for a good while and he clears his throat.
"The sky—" He cuts himself off and you drag your gaze to the purple cracks in the sky as vague figures catch your attention.
"Are those..." You trail off and look at your defeated friend.
"I'm going to get Doctor Strange to cast another spell." Peter informs you and you're skeptical, but somewhere in your brain you figure it probably has something to do with getting rid of whatever was in the sky.
"Okay." You nod.
Peter sighs and shakes his head, like you were not understanding what it was he was trying to say.
"Don't be mad."
"Why would I be mad?"
"I'm going to ask him to make everyone forget who I am." He says, and you tilt your head in confusion.
"Like the same spell you already tried?" Peter shakes his head at your question and reaches for your hands.
"No, I mean, me. Peter Parker."
You feel your heart drop to your stomach at his words. Still, not completely understanding what it is he was trying to tell you, but if it's what you think it is, you sensed an unfamiliar feeling simmer.
"But that means I would—Ned and MJ." You stare at him in disbelief as he nods.
"I know, but I have to. I can't let anything else get out of control." Peter presses his lips together as he gauges your reaction to his words.
Ultimately, he was right. With the sky purple and cracked, and unwanted figures coming through, it was way out of control. You did not want to forget your friend before you could even confess your feelings for him. But you also did not want any more consequences for him to deal with.
Forgetting him meant forgetting everything you've been through with the boy. You couldn't bare the thought of losing someone you cared so much about. You did not even want to know what it's like to not have Peter in your life, not remembering him.
"I have to find Ned and MJ, to let them know as well." Peter states and you blink back into reality and gaze at him.
It was now or never, you thought.
"I'm in love with you." You blurt and you cringe at the five words and clear your throat before he could even respond. "I just thought you should know." You shrug and confidently never break eye contact with him.
You can tell Peter is racking your words through his brain, and you fear the worst as the silence becomes more prominent.
He mutters your name and pulls a strand of hair behind your ear. You were eager for heartbreak and you knew it didn't matter what his reply would be.
"I want you to know that I feel how you feel too." Peter reassures, and you gaze at him for a long while.
He feels how you feel too.
"And I promise," Peter's eyes never leave yours as he places his hands on both sides of your face. His touch was so gentle and reassuring that whatever he said next, you would believe him.
"I promise once this is all over, I will find you, and tell you everything."
At his words, you hug him, not wanting to let go. You think to yourself and pray his words become true. You did not want to have to live a life without Peter.
Slowly he pulls away, and gives your forehead a kiss, replacing his touch with his own instead.
"I promise." Peter whispers.
Even when something slips your mind, trust that it will find its way back to you. You remind yourself of those words as you replay his promise in your head over and over again.
You remind yourself of those words when Peter swings away to find Ned and MJ.
You remind yourself of those words as you look up into the sky, detecting something so foreign course through you. Your mind alters into a different outlet.
You couldn't remember exactly what you were reminding yourself of, the thought completely lost from your subconscious.
