Link Love: In Search of Inspiration
I’ve been in a rut… and it’s not the first time this year. As I continue to train at my new job, I am utterly exhausted during the week, thus, little motivation to write a blog post. In an effort to get out of this rut, I’m taking some advice from my blogger friend of Vici Loves on how to find inspiration.
I almost forgot how much I love NARS Lip Pencils, until I came across this awesome ranking of the best shades (both matte and satin shades) on ITG. Nice to see that my favorite shade, Roman Holiday, made the top 15.
Did you hear? CVS is adding more on-trend brands not often found in drugstores. This is part of a greater redesign of their beauty service model and I can’t wait to hear more about it.

While I LOVE my new job, the commute is much longer (an hour or longer… but who’s counting?). My husband suggested I start listening to podcasts and I’m so glad I took his advice! It has made my trip go by so much quicker. I’m a huge fan of NPR’s How I Built This and Side Hustle School, but I’d love to get more recommendations. Tell me about your favorites in the comments!

4 Face Mists for Achieving Hydrated, Dewy Skin
I’d like to confess my new favorite daily ritual: MultiMisting. Face mists are like the perfect on-the-go shower. I love to keep my skin super-hydrated and glowy, so depending on my needs that day, I’ll combine a couple of these Pixi face mists to refresh, hydrate or set my makeup look.
With a longer commute to work, I’ve been setting my alarm 15 minutes earlier to get out the door on time. I never thought I could miss a mere 15 minutes without sleep, but I do! Which is why I depend Vitamin Wakeup Mist. It’s like a drink of energy for my skin thanks to an invigorating Orange Blossom water base. I like to spritz on a cotton pad and sweep in upward motions.
I love me a steamy shower (yes, even during the warm weather months) but I know it takes a toll on my skin so I’ve been spritzing Hydrating Milky Mist to lock in moisture. The Hyaluronic Acid helps skin absorb moisture to plump and rehydrate.
I used to think I wasn’t fully dressed without my signature scent, but in actuality, I am never fully dressed without my Makeup Fixing Mist. It’s the last step in my beauty routine before I walk out the door to set my makeup look. I also like to spritz this on my eyeshadow brushes if I’m applying shimmery shadow.
I’m addicted to Glow Tonic, so naturally I’m also obsessed with Glow Mist. Packed with 13 natural oils and infused with aloe vera and fruit extracts, it smells delicious. I’m traveling to Fort Lauderdale in May for a bachelorette party and I’m definitely going to pack this in my carry on.
If you’re a frequent traveler or don’t have much time to primp in the morning—these face mists can get the job done in a whopping 15 seconds. Trust me, it’s worth every spritz!

Understanding the Cult of P50
Guys, breaking news: P50 launched a new P50.
You have certainly heard of P50. The French toner-tonic-lotion by Biologique Recherche that balances your skin’s pH, exfoliates, hydrates and clears up acne, all in one. Mary Kate and Ashley are massive fans (just saying) and it’s the results that have earned this product a HUGE cult following.
Admittedly, the smell is something you have to get used to, It smells of apple cider vinegar and onions at best. But – for skin that is crystal clear, soft and plump, you will take your chances.
If you live in the US, you probably know that it’s practically impossible to get your hands on it. It’s a French thing. You can really only find it online at Philadelphia’s Rescue Spa and at Aida Bicaj in New York.
I was introduced to P50 years ago. A friend of mine swore by it and, around the same time, I popped in for a facial with Aida Bicaj. She has been using Biologique Recherche for years and told me about P50’s magical powers and wouldn’t let me leave her office without my own bottle. Since then, I have loved it. I learned for myself that P50 actually works. It’s the hallmark of French beauty and is bought by me, beauty editors and crazy-good-skin-loving woman all over the world. Now here’s where things get slightly confusing.
There are lots of different kinds of P50, so for someone who is new to P50, it’s tough to know which is best for your skin. Lucky for you, I popped into the Biologique Recherche Spa last week while in Paris and asked them to break P50 down for me. PS – The next time you are in Paris, you should pay a trip to this spa, and you will see what I am talking about. I hope this helps:
Note: Whenever there’s “1970” in the title, it means the product includes the original formula made with phenol, (an ingredient used in mouthwash). The new formulas (without the “1970”) were created specifically for the European markets. But, in the US you can still purchase both. P50 die-hards still crave the original formula, but I switched over to the phenol-free formula.
If your concern is acne (or you just want to be hardcore, as this is the most aggressive one): P50 & P50 1970
This is the original, guys. It’s got AHA’s and BHA’s, and a special mix of ingredients (a list that even includes onion!) to promote acne free skin that glows.
If you have red or sensitive skin: P50V & P50V 1970
Is your skin ever so dry or just a tad sensitive? This is for you. They’re not quite as harsh as the original formula, so it’s more conditioning. The best part? They’re packed with all those good-for-you ingredients like Onion Extract, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Burdock Extract and Plankton.
If your concern is anti-aging: P50W & P50W 1970
This is the most delicate P50, but its Burdock Extract and Panama Wood Extract keep the skin glowing. The formula is best for mature skin types, as the formula is packed with anti-inflamitory active ingredients.
If your concern is sunspots or hyperpigmentation: P50 PIGM 400
I just bought this one. Lotion P50 PIGM 400, the newest P50, is an exfoliating and brightening lotion that is ideal for dull complexions with hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It’s made with wasabi extract…enough said.
