The night was young, the streets of Vegas prowling with more than one addicted creature of the night. Casinos echoed noise and excitement into the air, neon lights and signs that beckoned the casual man or woman to participate in numerous businesses. The smell of alcohol and the distant sounds of clattering dice hit Jerry's ears. He barely came into the city on an average day. Noise from excited patrons bothering his ears. The Fall was chilly this year, wind slightly brushing past the citizens on the sidewalks. The weather never interrupted these people from their nightly outings.

It was fascinating to see.

As the vampire walked past one of the casinos to the grand building of Peter Vincent himself--he paused. His cold hands buried inside of his black jacket. Peter still performed here? The bastard knew he was safe, that was why. Jerry was dead after all, wasn't he? The fire that gave him the worst burns of his life.. It had taken him weeks to recover. Since then, he made sure to keep out of the public eye as he usually did.

Especially away from the three lucky fucks that were Amy, Charley, and Peter Vincent himself.

A scent struck him. A familiar one. One he knew all too well. The sounds of doors opening, footsteps. He was just around the corner when his body felt the burning desire to maim. His "killer" was going to walk out those doors.

He would be ready to greet him. 

Peter called Vegas home. It didn’t matter that he had nearly died here. It didn’t matter that he knew vampires roamed the city of sin. 

He occasionally hunted them down now. Willingly. He and Charley would catch up, Peter would drink a few, and they’d go do their best to make Vegas safe. 

It was all Charley’s idea. 

But tonight, he was heading out to party in the clubs, hit up a couple casinos, bring home a couple broads... He didn’t have a care in the world. He was ready to lose himself and surrender to the city of sin. 

Jerry was the last thing on his mind. He was sure Jerry was dead. So he had no reason to watch over his shoulder as he left the building. Face buried in his phone, a pair of unneeded sunglasses perched on his nose... Other hand reaching into his pocket to tuck his flask away.

Peter was grumbling under his breath. “Damn suit is a rental...” He muttered, setting the flute on the nearest surface. 

He looks her over, up and down. “... yeah. Whatever.” He says, not sounding like the other men at the party. He wasn’t pretending to be a nice guy with lots of money. He wasn’t interested in rubbing elbows with the “right crowd” 

“You’d think the least they would do, open the back door to the patio... let everyone... breathe a little. Give a bit more space.”

Peter hated these types of social events. They just weren’t him. The only good thing about these parties was the booze. He held a champagne flute in one hand and little snacks in the other. 

He watched people, judging them in the back of his head. They all had their heads so far up their own arses that they-

“OH FUCK OFF.” Someone bumped into Peter and he spilled his drink on himself. He looked down at himself before looking at the other.
