Cowboy!Bucky x reader

A/N: just another cowboy Bucky blurb I had. Pretty short and not proof read but I thought this was a cute little look at Cowboy Bucky's family and their shenanigans (just fluff basically)

“Darlin, We don’t need another horse,” He reasoned with you. But as his daughter stood behind your leg, peeking her head around to show her tears. It made him freeze. 

He built a wooden horse for her when she was young, she barely left it. As he came home from patrolling the land, he would see her through the old screen door, rocking back and forth with laughter as she watched you make dinner. She was in love with horses.

Becca always joined you and Bucky in the morning for daily chores. She would wake up smiling, reaching for you as you carried her to feed the horse before Bucky went to work.  

She sent her dad off every morning on his horse. You always carefully lifted her into Bucky’s arms, letting her sit on the saddle as she loved to run her tiny fingers through the horse’s mane. The horse would snort and sigh as she giggled. You would have to pry her off as you watched Bucky go off into town, her face molded into a frown, as you held her hand walking her back inside before starting the chores. It was a routine that became sacred to her. 

She worried about the horse, always asking Bucky, half asleep, waiting up for him to get home from work, wanting to walk out to the stables to pet it, and give it a snack for all its hard work. 

So when you casually mentioned to Bucky that you heard from Wanda, your neighbor, had to give up her horse, your daughter almost broke the windows from her squeals of joy. 

“Mama, please, please please! Winter needs a friend, he gets cold out there all alone.” She sniffled. Wanda snickered at how your daughter knew how to negotiate, your stern face turned scared at the flick of a switch. You just couldn’t say no to her. 

You knew Bucky couldn’t either. 

“Buck, come on, we’ve been talking about this on and off for a while now.” You prodded, almost pleaded. You look at Bucky’s steely face, he can’t hold it for long as his eyes meet Becca’s face. Her cheeks reddened by her tears, it wasn’t long before he rubbed his forehead with his calloused hand. He knew he was beat. 

“Please dad?” Becca walked over slowly to her father, wrapping her arms around his leg, looking up at him with a small little smile. 

You hide the giggle in your throat but smile as you walk towards the struggling man, wrapping your arms around his waist, kissing his cheek, whispering to his skin, “please buck.”  

You ended up with three horses by the end of summer, a new wooden one, Winter and now Summer, which Bucky let you and Becca name before training it to be brought to work.

Winter didn’t like the competition, but enjoyed the extra apple you packed for him as they left for work each morning.

OMG OMG OMG OMG FINALLY SOME MIGUEL FIC FROM YOU. I WAS JUST ANTICIPATING IT BECUASE OMGGG IM IN LOVE. THE DIALOGUE, THE ACTION PACKED FIGHTING SCENE THAT WAS P E R F E C T (yes it was good, quit saying it wasn’t) AND UGH THE READERS CONFIDENCE, THE WAY YOU DESCRIBED THEM WAS 😘

Also annoyed, grumpy Miguel was portrayed amazingly. He’s such a grumpy pants but hehehehe he’s so cute. 🥺

Summary: Spider-Man 2099 entered a universe where the heroes punch a little harder and rarely ask questions. They’re a bit aggressive, but get their jobs done. As a variant Spider-person, he thinks you’ll make a fine addition to the team, but he first has to get you to hear him out.

Warnings: hopefully a cool fight scene with an appropriate amount of violence, no romance sadly

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader (College AU)

Summary: Bucky, your childhood best friend, takes you to a baseball game to thank you for helping him with his chemistry class. However, between bets and kiss cams, luck seems to be the real game being played.

      “ Y/n, I caught it!” Bucky yelled grinning from ear to ear. Cheers erupted from the seats around you as he waved the baseball he caught in the air. “ There’s no way,” you grumbled staring at the baseball Bucky was twirling around in his hands. You placed a bet with Bucky earlier on whether or not he would catch one of the stray baseballs from the game. He would routinely complain about coming here and never catching one, so you thought this would be a good opportunity to make a few extra dollars. Unfortunately, for your bank account, luck was on his side today. 

     You reached into your wallet and took out a twenty, handing it to him annoyed at your loss, “Here.” Bucky was grinning smugly as he took the money from your hand, a twinkle of satisfaction in his eyes, “ Maybe you’re my good luck charm, Y/n. You should come to these games more often with me.” You glared at him playfully,” And have to do more of your chemistry homework? No thanks.” He laughed at that, stealing a cheesy nacho from the container on your lap.

     “ Not chemistry. Next time it’ll be algebra.” 

     “ In your dreams, Barnes.” 

     “ Oh, so we’re on last-name terms now? Well, L/n, to cheer you up I’ll buy you some of that cotton candy you wanted. Although, technically, you’ll be buying it,” he cheekily remarked calling over one of the snack vendors and buying a pink fluff of candy floss with the twenty you just gave him. He handed it to you and you gladly took it,” Whatever, Barnes,” you replied holding back a grin. It was nice to see how excited Bucky was to have finally caught a baseball from his favorite team. You knew he wanted one for a long time, and no doubt would stay after just to try and get it signed by his favorite players.

     Even though you lost the bet, you were glad you came to the game with him. You usually don’t come to outings like these as you’re usually busy with coursework and Bucky tends to invite Steve or Sam to these kinds of things. However, when he was falling behind in chemistry, you helped him complete some assignments and study for an exam he ended up acing thanks to your tutoring. Tutoring is not your specialty, but when the request came from your childhood best friend, there was no way you could say no. You can’t remember the last time you genuinely said no to Bucky.   

     The people in the seats surrounding you suddenly started to get rowdy breaking you from your thoughts. You scanned the stadium confused as to what everyone was getting animated over. You knew there was a current break in the game, so it couldn’t be that. Hearing the romantic music being played over the speakers brought your attention to the giant screen in the stadium. Your heart skipped a beat as soon as you saw who was on it. 

     It was you and Bucky. 

     There the two of you were on the jumbotron with the words ‘KISS CAM’ plastered on the screen surrounded by a scatter of red hearts. You froze in your seat never been put in a position like this. You felt the heat rise to your cheeks as the people around you encouraged the two of you to kiss—including the announcer. You weren’t a stranger to any sort of public displays of affection, but this was something else in its entirety. 

     “ Y/n, you know we don’t have to do this. They’ll just switch to another couple. Relax,” Bucky spoke up from beside you, his voice gentle and kind. He must have noticed how nervous you had gotten as soon as you two showed up on that screen. You turned to him, the word couple bouncing around your mind with mixed emotions. However, as soon as you locked eyes with him the emotions were no longer mixed. 

     You wanted to kiss him.

     This came as no surprise to you, and most likely no surprise on his part either. There was a constant flirtatious dynamic between you and almost everybody you knew assumed you were a couple. It’s not like they would be wrong to assume that since there were a few times you almost crossed the line between friend and lover, however, neither of you ever took the step to fully cross it. Stolen glances, lingering hugs, and near kisses were no strangers in your friendship.

     “ But I want to,” your voice came out quieter than you expected, and yet Bucky had heard you. His demeanor changed from earlier, a hopeful yet almost shy look overtook his face. A sheepish grin replaced the confident one from earlier as the reality of what could and would most likely happen, set in.

      “ You sure?” He asked coming in closer, his right hand taking your left in his as a comforting gesture. You were so entranced by the moment you only managed to nod your head before he leaned over and kissed you. You kissed back, your right hand dropping the cotton candy and instinctively holding onto his cheek. As the stadium erupted with cheers, he used the hand that was holding yours to pull you in closer by the waist.

     Today turned out to be a lucky day for both of you.

“ I wish this day would last forever,” you let out a long sigh, finishing your last spoonful of cookie dough ice cream. The sun was setting, leaving the most lovely hues of orange and yellow across the sky. The sound of flowing water accompanied by the chirping of birds made your stroll in the park with your boyfriend almost dreamlike.

Bucky returned your sentiment with a soft smile, “ Forever would be nice.” He rubbed small circles into your left hand, planting a kiss on your hair simultaneously. To have days so tranquil like today were rare. The only time the two of you spent together lately involved any missions you were partnered on. Stopping madmen from taking over the world wasn’t exactly your idea of a romantic date. 

You intertwined your fingers with his and pulled him toward a stone bridge. It overlooked a gently flowing river with a perfect view of New York City beyond it. You weren’t tired, but you wanted to rest for a moment, hoping the world would let you bask in the sunlight for a few more minutes before disappearing into the night. 

With a quick hop, you sat on top of the bridge railing and patted the spot next to you for Bucky to sit. He shook his head and instead chose to stand between your legs. One hand resting at your side, the other holding his rocky road ice cream cone. There was a look in his eyes you recognized very well. His eyes twinkled with mischief warning you he was planning something. 

“ You got something on your face, darling,” Bucky motioned to your face lazily, not highlighting a specific place. 

“ Where?” Your brows furrowed, dabbing your hands across your face trying to find the something Bucky mentioned.

“ Right there,” Bucky, in a quick swoop, smeared a dash of rocky road ice cream on your nose. Your mouth flew open in playful disbelief, “Buck! My nose is all cold now,” your hand lifted to wipe it away, but he stopped it midair,“ I’ll get it.” He leaned down and pressed a kiss on your nose. “ Better?” He asked after pulling away. You shrugged, failing to suppress a smile, “ Maybe just a little bit.” He laughed, looking at you with adoring eyes, cradling you in warmth and love. 

This time he wiped a tiny bit of rocky road on your lips before replacing it with his own. The kiss was gentle and tasted of velvety chocolate and sugary marshmallows. 

Now this was your idea of a romantic date.

Watching tv with Bucky

“We need this Bucky,” 

You grabbed his arm, forcing him to look at the hundredth item being shown on tv that was being sold to you and Buck with urgancy. The sellers had you, your attention, and his wallet wrapped around their fingers.

“No we don’t. What are we going to do with-“

“What if I need to deep fry something?” 

You had almost become a salesmen on your own. You created a script in your mind, trying to convince him and yourself that the "compound" needed it. A deep fryer. Even though Stark had almost everything available at the touch of a button.

“Baby, we barely have the space if we just bought the mixer.”

But you were a pretty cute salesman. You got him to buy the mixer when you told him you'd make him all the cookies he wanted.

“But they said that this would be the lowest price that anyone is offering right now. We’ll miss it if we don’t buy it now.”

“Hon, I don’t know. Sometimes they just say that to just-“

“It’s the deal of the day! We need this. We do.”

2. Bucky steals your cheetos

“Answer me, now.” 

A small meow echoed behind you as you both stared questionably at the orange crime scene before you. 

“Alpine told me everything.” 

That little snitch. He would’ve gotten away with it too. 

“Buck, show me your hands.” Your arms crossed, waiting for the evidence to show in flaky, orange fingerprints. 

“Doll, I promise I didn’t eat your Cheetos,” he whined. They were just sitting there staring at him. Now the empty bag shoved under the couch unraveled and crinkled, almost laughing at his failure. This would be the end. 

“Oh yeah then who did i-“

“Sam.” 

Problem solved. All he has to do now is run. Seems easy enough. 

You leaned into his space, his legs frozen to the couch as your face was inches from his. Your breath touched his left cheek, lips brushing his skin. 

“Buck, if you’re going to lie about stealing my stuff, you might want to get rid of the lingering evidence you seemed to leave in plain sight.” 

Shit. Where? The empty bag hidden, his hands cuddled under the blanket. What else was he miss-

You kissed the Cheeto dust off his lips, before he could even think about how he messed up.
