I'm in a webseries fandom and play on a site that had* a one-pet-per-name policy (not neo). after six years of the series releasing i realized the full names of the characters were all unclaimed, so I made the main trio of characters for fun.

a full year later (so seven years post-OG canon release) I get a pm demanding I give my pets to this rando. they are not new, they have had the same amount of years as I did to claim these names themselves.

I say no, since I've already put work into these pets, but in hopes of befriending the first person I've found that also likes the media on this site and thinking we just got off on the wrong foot, spend a good hour or so looking up and writing down a few alternative names that still fit the canon name and look just as nice (don't have any annoying underscores or random extra letters, etc). think "max smith" vs "maximus smith" when the character goes by both, etc.

They yelled at me and said they don't want any other versions of the names, only the specific ones I had, and I don't "deserve" to "have them all". so I blocked them, then over the next couple of weeks made all the named side characters into pets too to have the *actual* full collection lmao. (I wanted to do the other characters eventually anyway, but it was definitely mostly out of petty spite)

Am i the arsehole for quitting Marapets after playing it for one day?

For congtext, I joined Marapets after seeing an ad for it on Neopets. I adopted an Equilor because it was the cutest one IMHO. It was hard and kinda shitty, and I didn't really like it. I exited the tab after seeing that pets could die. I only played it for one day. AITA?

Am I the asshole for reporting everyone including myself? I’ve been a pound chat regular for months now, trading for the most exclusive pets like real words and UC petpet pets, not to mention the Y1 and Y2s. With the reversals and freezings ramping up lately, I’ve been scared, so I’ve been preemptively reporting people I trade with. It started when I got an offer of a VWN Y2 with a UC petpet. It seemed too good to be true. These pets barely existed only months ago. Now they’re out in droves. I reported the user before our trade, just to be safe, and they along with many people before them, were frozen. Pets were reversed back months. I panicked. If I couldn’t trust their offers and all the people before them, who could I trust? Not even my own pets. I reported my pets as well, just to be safe, and now I have none. I keep making BFA posts to warn everyone on the PC, but they bully me and say I am wrong for doing this. AITA?
