GUYS NEW SHARK JUST DROPPED

Well, technically it's not new : it's a nurse shark. What's new, however, is that it's the first xanthic (imagine albinism but in yellow) nurse shark ever found !! Not only it's not common AT ALL to find fishes with xanthism (it's the first cartilagenous fish ever recorded with this type of genetic "anomally"), but if it's there and still existing as an adult, it means the species is chill-ish with other predators (it probably would have been eaten by then). Its eyes are white so it can also be a form of albinism, in addition to xanthism !!!!!

And most of all : ITS SO CUTE !! AND IT'S SUCH A COOL FIND !!

Please if a marine biologist or someone with more info can interact with this post to feed me some more info or correct me on wrong infos i'e given I'd love it !

i wish more people had any sort of sympathy for fish. so often customers come in to my job and couldn’t care one bit if the fish they purchase live or die in their tank… and i don’t mean feeder fish! i mean guppies, cichlids, other fish we sell as pets! or even feeder fish bought with the intent of raising as a pet!

most people see fish as expendable or decorative and don’t have any sort of care for their actual wellbeing… i tell someone “If you put that comet goldfish in a 2 gallon, it’s going to keep growing and die from stress” and they just shrug and say “I’ll replace it”

why do people buy fish with the expectation that they will die???????? or lack of care when informed they will????????? i just don’t understand. these poor fish

a few nights ago lotus and poison, iconic performers and trans women, were viciously attacked at legends gay nightclub. nobody intervened in a supposed community space. please help cover their medical expenses and show them they are not alone. they were absolutely let down, and what kind of community doesn't help its most vulnerable? consider showing them support both emotionally and financially after this dual trauma of abuse and neglect.
