there’s always a look of understanding that runs the length of the great hall the morning after a party, as students nursing hangovers stumble their way in. no one is ever under the illusion that the faculty is entirely unaware of their antics, and for their part there is a certain wilful ignorance of the whirring schemes. 

but this morning, it is an entirely different look that passes across the room, one of concern and worry. one that’s accompanied by whispers covered by hands slipping up and down the top table. a tension in the room as more stragglers emerge out of their stupor and into the hall. one only broken when grace tuft, daughter of thomasin tuft, passes the threshold — professors hurrying the length of the hall to whisk her from the room.

what’s going on?

and so the whispers start, as a few rub the sleep from their eyes and turn them to the morning’s papers;  the tufts are dead. all of them wiped out in a night, the skull and serpent left hanging over their aberystwyth home. all of them but grace, kept safe by hogwarts grounds. too young to be left with a legacy like that, too young to plan that many funerals, too young to be the last left standing. but still she stands. alone.

in the recent past

OWL and NEWT exams took place, with the sixth year end of year exams being sat along side them

the results of the chief warlock election were announced june 27th — rodolphus lestrange emerged the victor

classes will finished at 12pm on wednesday june 29th

an end of term party was held on the astronomy tower on the evening of june 29th

this week

the hogwarts express will leave for london on july 1st

the full moon is july 1st

looking on to the future

a memorial is to be held for the tufts, organised by rodolphus lestrange

the black family debuante ball is to be held july 7th

NEWT and OWL results are to be sent out july 15th

to say it was an eventful year would be an understatement, between turmoil and triumph it was one for the books! students have celebrated highs and mourned lows and now they’re ready to just let loose and enjoy the last bash of the year. classes have come to an end and everyone is packing up for the train ride home, but not before one final party in the astronomy tower. this is the last chance for some to right wrongs or confess crushes, before moving on to the real world beyond hogwarts hallowed halls. for others it’s just another party before another year of class and quidditch. however this party finds you, remember to have some fun and raise a glass for those no longer here. bertram aubrey this one’s for you!

details: regulus is going through a lot. he’s just taken the mark, he’s got conflicted emotions about it, he’s struggling to stay afloat with the expectations put on him. he needs someone to confide in and be comfortable with. he doesn’t trust easy, but he would open up eagerly to the person he trusts most: his partner (or close friend that he’s into). due to his position and his fear of having weaknesses, he keeps them secret from the world. this secrecy can be either a source of angst or comfort for the other character. this person can be of any blood status and gender.

we’d love to see saoirse on the dash again! she’s such a versatile fc so we think she’d make a great fit as daisy hookum, lucinda talkalot, gladys gudgeon, and hestia jones. but we’d be lying if we didn’t say how much we’d adore to see her play a slightly darker character, one with a surname like crabbe, goyle, wilkes, fawley and burke!

how would one go about taking a wanted connection (where the player has indicated that you don’t have to contact them)? is this something that’s done after applying?

we always love to see our wanted connections taken so all we ask is that you tag on a wee note to the end of your app saying what connection you’re applying for! just so we know as soon as we get your app that that connection is now taken. i hope that answered your question!

details: amaline and her older brother got along reasonably well as children, especially since their mother’s passing when amaline was five. their father wasn’t particularly attentive or loving in a traditional sense ( even though we always strived to treat the children with respect, honesty and while cold provided them with a good childhood ) but he always encouraged the siblings to be close. things only became complicated when amaline became a teenager and her views began to stray away from her family’s, making her pull away from her brother slowly even if she never gave a reason. now, between an unwanted betrothal on amy’s part and her brother’s leaning towards the dark lord’s side, the relationship is drifting farther than ever. there’s a lot of love between them, but amy definitely doesn’t make their dynamic easy.

details: they’ve been betrothed since they were 12, and ever since amaline has made it her life’s mission to stay as far from him as humanly possible. amaline didn’t want a betrothal, not because of whom she was betrothed to but simply on principle, and her way of trying to ignore that reality was to make sure that she crossed paths with him almost never. with seventh year looming and graduation a more tangible reality, however, amaline knows that eventually she’ll have to bite the bullet and at least sit down and have a conversation with the boy… sometime. their dynamic is completely free to however plot and chemistry takes us, whether they absolutely hate each other or end up happily ever after is up to the writing gods.

SIRIUS BLACK (CHRIS VERES) is searching for their DESTINED BETROTHAL. they’re called UTP BUT OF A PUREBLOOD LEGACY, MADE UP OR OTHERWISE and are sixth / seventh year from slytherin / ravenclaw / hufflepuff house. they look like BAE SUZY / LANA CONDOR / LAURA HARRIER / BARBIE FERREIRA / JESSICA ALEXANDER / UTP and applicants do not need to get in touch.

details: walburga and orion black would’ve been notoriously picky about their choice of betrothal for an heir, so preferences would have absolutely gone to other heirs or otherwise eldest/only children of pureblooded families. as time went on and sirius’ reputation soured, his parents would have needed to go through option after option and likely settled on this person only recently. this person would have to know of the betrothal due to his parents having to sus them out, but sirius would be completely unaware of the betrothal for the time being. whether this is forced upon this person, or they’re aware that sirius isn’t in the loop, pleased/worried with any bits of it, etc. etc. is completely UTP, but note that sirius’ ignorance is fully planned to change for the worse regardless of his actual opinion on the character due to the secrecy + clear means of control this means his parents are placing on him. his reaction has a 90% chance of causing severe embarrassment in the long-term. details tbd by me & could be u. amen.
