Adding to the prev. post, I tried watching Gotham a couple of years ago but the problem for me was (and maybe is, I don't know) that it wasn't exactly my kind of show and I didn't care much about any characters other than Alfred and my baby Penguin.

So I don't know if I can watch all 5 seasons of it.

But baby Penguin (and Ed) is tempting me. Hard.

Welp, it's not like I need to have any more ships I am obsessed an unhealthy amount with, nor fandom, for that matter, nor have time/energy for watching a whole ass tv show (even though it's 100 episodes long, which is not too long... but not short either)...

...but I feel like Riddlebird/Nygmobblepot might be my cup of tea and am very tempted to watch Gotham.

That's what I'm here for. That's what drew me in. From the start, I felt for Izzy - it's so obvious Ed is his whole life. For decades, that's how it probably went - Izzy focusing on Ed 100%, yearning, being there for Ed in his way and trying to be content with the scraps he got. And then this rich boy comes along and suddely Ed is the one with the longing gaze - for someone else.

In S2 I almost let myself believe that maybe, maybe...

...we could complete this triangle?

I still think it would have been neat - not the tragic yearning look, but mutual fondness - the 3 of them ❤

Been talking with my mum about Izzy and her arguing that Izzy wouldn't just up and become a pirate if he was a naval officer ( and we both believe he was ), that Ed most likely had something to do with it and she doesn't think it had anything to do with a raid got me thinking that I really, really want a third version of my Izzy's backstory where Izzy served on the naval ship that once captured Ed Teach, still young and working for Hornigold (but just as reckless if not more than he is now, hence him being caught), and Izzy helped him escape after seeing how poorly he was treated and somehow in the process of doing it he found himself miles away from his ship together with Ed so he sort of escaped already and Ed clearly needed someone to look after him or he would die too young and it's not like Izzy had a high opinion of the Navy or the King at this point so... he became a pirate. Purely to protect Ed.

Also, he had to ditch his Naval uniform before coming onboard Hornigold's ship for understandable reasons, and he had nothing to wear, so Ed lended him his shirt... and never took it back.

Which is why Izzy's shirt is too long for him and has to be tied up at the elbows. It's Ed's.
