I WILL STAND BY THIS UNTIL THE DAY I DIE: FUGO DID NOTHING WRONG. i cannot believe at all that there are people who blame fugo for his decision and believe that he “betrayed buccellati.” fugo did what almost anyone would.

it doesn’t matter how much you love buccellati or whatever, you CANNOT tell me that you would join buccellati and betray the boss without a second thought knowing full well that everybody who did that before died horribly as an example. he loved and cared about everybody in the gang. he felt like he owed his life to buccellati, and he really would have died for him or anyone else in the gang.

here’s the thing: when buccellati decided to betray the boss, it wasn’t for anyone in the gang (at the time). it was for a girl that they’d barely known for a day or two. is it really selfish of fugo to not want to get on that boat? no, it’s not. not that many people are so selfless as to willingly risk their lives for someone they barely know, fugo included. that doesn’t make him a bad person in the slightest. he’s just the type of person to think about himself and his friends first, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

fugo didn’t betray anybody, and the fact that i’m seeing so many people making it out to seem like he did something wrong when he didn’t breaks my heart.

he didn’t want anyone to die. it’s not like he deliberately stayed behind for any selfish purposes. he didn’t want what happened to every other traitor to happen to him or his friends. he didn’t want anyone else to get on that boat with buccellati because he felt like that would happen, and he was right in feeling that way.

y’all really wanna blame fugo for not wanting him or his friends to risk their lives for a girl any of them hardly knew at the time? ok.
