I've returned from the depths of inactivity, with more questions. The other day I saw a drawing where Brin is a villain and I wanted to know if there is any lore. :D

Welcome back to the land of the living!

And OH BOY IS THERE!

SO, basic background in that au is that Mar conditioned Brin into being experimented on long before his beast change, and was actually able to complete his goal of the full procedure (which I wasn’t sure what it was, so we’re gonna say it was full shapeshifter synthesis) instead of the half Timber we’re used to.

He also perfects a suggestion chip that allows control over Brin (sorta like “Cry Wolf”s weird mind control with more memory blanks), and basically uses him as a bodyguard normally/body collector whenever guests come over and poke around too much, leading to B having a terrible memory and a looser moral compass.

When the Legion comes around, B is tasked to hunt the forest crew down for asking too many questions (they’re investigating some missing scientists) while Mar dealt with the ship crew. Instead, Brin gets his shit rocked by Lightning, Saturn, and Supes, and it damages his suggestion chip enough for him to realize he’s been being used as a fucked up tool for his fathers whims. The Legion is skeptically about his change of heart, but wants to help in the end, and agree to sneak him out.

Unfortunately, the chip reactivates before they can do that, and he ends up getting near fried by Lightning for attacking them. But that starts his true escape.

Eventually, he ends up killing Mar and stealing a shuttle to get off-planet, as well as documents detailing every scientist that had had a hand in his fathers experiments, and starts committing crimes of murder, breaking and entering, thievery, and mild cannibalism as he grows more animalistic and hungry over the course of about a year. Which is about when Mekt finds him in an alleyway and (for reasons of brotherly guilt and genuine concern) takes pity and brings him home. By this point, Brin is a wanted criminal, and Mekt is now harboring him in his bathroom like a scared, 8 foot cat, begging to every god available that his siblings don’t try and mend bonds NOW.

Slowly, Brin gets better (he’s still just barely an adult at this point, and severely haunted by his actions) but keeps hunting down scientists without Mekts knowledge, and eventually stumbles upon one that was attempting the exact same experiment B went through.

On kids.

B ends up disappearing for a good half year afterwards, no bodies, no visits to Mekt, nothing; and then the mfer just appears on Lightnings fire escape one night and tells him to watch his kids while he does sketchy shit.

There’s so much I want to do with the AU, and so much more to it, but I am not a person that can see things through 😅
