Chapter Four
Three weeks later
September seemed to end all too soon with Madeleine and Louise starting university. With October here Madeleine and Louise settled into their new life as university students, it seemed William did as well. Or at least, that’s what it looked like.
Madeleine hadn’t spoken to him since her night with him at Buckingham. She did, however, watch the press coverage as he arrived for his first day at St. Andrews University in Scotland alongside his father, Prince Charles.
And Louise was insistent on not letting Madeleine forget about William. She kept buying all of the rag magazines that took grainy, low quality paparazzi shots of him doing his day-to-day activities while at St. Andrews. Madeleine felt like one of the paparazzi herself with as much as Louise made her look at all of the stories about William, but according to Louise they had something and Madeleine shouldn’t ignore it. Madeleine, however, was still up in the air about that one.
William was the least of Madeleine’s worries right now. She still hadn’t spoken to either one of her parents since they left London three weeks ago, even though her older siblings were pressing her to patch things up with them.
And she had to admit, she missed her parents. And of course, she loved them dearly. She would also admit she said a lot of incredibly harsh things in the heat of the moment.

Chapter Three: Part Two
William’s tour of Buckingham ended up being longer than planned, so much so that when they returned to the 1844 Room Madeleine’s parents had returned to her flat and Elizabeth had gone to bed. But a half asleep Hans was patiently awaiting their return as they stumbled into the room, giggling like school children.
“Your Royal Highnesses.” Hans said to them standing to attention and bowing his head to them.
“Hans.” Madeline replied with a warm smile in his direction.
The night ended out to be better than Madeleine thought it would be, of course the private tour of Buckingham helped. And oddly enough, so did William.
“Is my grandmother still awake?” William asked Hans.
“No, Sir. Your grandmother has retired to her bedroom for the night, and The King and Queen have returned to The Princess’s flat, but have a car waiting for her outside.”
“Ah, thank you Hans.” William said, turning to Madeleine. “I can drive you, if you like. You’re in Notting Hill, right? I’m heading that way.”

Chapter Two
“Mamma! Pappa!” Madeleine yelled from her spot in Heathrow Airport as she threw her arms into a frantic spurt of waves to gain her parents’ attention.
Her parents saw her and her mother, Queen Silvia, nearly jumped out of excitement at the sight of her youngest child. And Madeleine had to admit, it was comforting to see them here, in her new home.
Since she had arrived in London on Monday, Madeleine had found herself missing Sweden, her parents in particular. She missed the familiarity of her day to day life in Drottningholm Palace, and how she would begin and end each day with seeing at least one of her parents.
By Wednesday of that week, the “London calling” hype had begun to wear on her. Afterall, it wasn’t even six months ago that she’d graduated secondary school and now here she was, beginning university and in a strange place. A strange place that had been calling to her since she was fifteen. A strange place that was supposed to feel like home, but so far the only thing that was good about London was that she had Louise by her side.
