5 year winner of the "technically a Vulcan" award, the Earth-born mixed descent junior lieutenant D'emily has twice that many notes on her file for reckless negligence and impulsive behavior. Her medical records are private, but some ensigns suspect she's hiding Klingon ridges under her bangs.

look okay nearly every project moon character is the character of all time on account of the literary references and layers of bullshit but Ricardo truly IS the character of all time. He wears a *jaguar (not leopard, sorry) print fur cape and no shirt. His hair is hot pink. He would chase someone across the high seas and to the opposite side of the country because he wanted to kill them for stealing his hair coupons. EDM music follows him around and it IS diegetic. He loves cute things and decorates his Book of Vengeance (where he writes the names of everyone who has ever wronged him so he can punish them for it) with kitty stickers. The gang he’s from is called the Middle Finger and all the guys he leads call him Big Bro and really truly mean it. His favorite positive descriptor is “luscious” and his favorite negative one is “bristly” and he’ll use them in situations where they shouldn’t be applied. He lives in a world where you are more likely to become a pile of gore than survive another day and but instead of turning into blood and meat he just gets launched like Team Rocket. The chains and tattoos aren’t even a remarkable part of his design since that’s just what The Middle is like. I got so caught up describing how strange he is that I forgot to say that he kills people by punching and kicking them to death

My grandma just called and, among other things, said “You have hips. That’s good! Men like hips!” and then she interrupted herself to say “Women like hips. People of your preferred gender like hips. I can never remember” And I was like “Thanks grandma! My preferred gender is none of them, no thanks.” and she was like “Okay, no one will comment on your hips!” very self satisfied, like “aha, I have figured it out” I think like half her grandkids are some variety of not-straight and she can’t always remember which is which but she is the epitome of like “she’s a little confused, but she’s got the spirit!”

we stanAO3 staff for their dutiful work
The midjourney stuff just reminds of when we were trying to find a new platform to host the ao3 donation form, and companies kept trying to tell me about all their "ai" features that would track donor engagement, and figure out the optimal pattern to email individual donors asking for follow up donations, and all the ways they suggest we manipulate people into staying on our websites. It was a great way to filter out who either wasn't listening to us when we described our ethics and donor base, or just didn't believe us.
Now granted ao3 is a unique case based on a) the amount of page views we get in any given time period and b) the fact that most donors absolutely do Not want to be identified as such anywhere, (the default "list of recent donors" module got nuked Immediately) but it surprised me some that the concept of "donors who value their privacy and would be furious at even the whiff of AI" is unique. Some of us really are just existing in different worlds.

Finally finished this after a couple months of on and off working on it. The Worm x We’ll Be Fine video, now fully drawn and colored! First time committing myself to something like this, and while there are definitely some issues, I’m happy with how it turned out. Maybe more in the future? If I have time (definitely have some other ideas for Worm x EPIC and maybe other musicals)
Bonus: Some frames that I liked

the Library crumbled, ages ago.
you're not really sure when. time doesn't matter much anymore, amidst the fluttering pages and bits of leftover paper. it happened so long ago anyways. each floor is still intact, in its own way, some almost broken to pieces and others showing only hints of damage- but no one minds. everyone is still here, after all. prowling where they last were, Abnormalities close behind. they aren't the only monsters here, not anymore, yet some of them still fight with the remnants of your coworkers. it seems they can't tell the difference still, and sometimes you hear screeches and howls coming from below you.
not your floor. never your floor. your floor is quiet and peaceful, just as your Patron Librarian wished her to be.
you bring her books sometimes, scraping together pieces to make a complete story. only she and you are allowed in the back corner, beyond the silent trees and stars to a nest made of feathers and parchment. Binah's Distortion stirs when she hears you approaching, shifting her ragged wings in an invitation to come closer. you nestle in her embrace, holding out the book for her many moon colored eyes to examine. some of your feathers match hers. as they should. you vaguely remember her holding you firmly when everything broke, before your world became hazy and peculiar. and you nestle back against her, gratefully.
Binah croons low in her throat, two monsters together in ruination.

Three-knife hairpin 三刀簪 (one for the country, one for the family, and one for oneself) was a popular headpiece among women in the city of Fuzhou, Fujian province.
Also known as "Three Hairpins” it consists of three small swords worn like hairpins, mostly made out of silver or white copper, and engraved with patterns.
There are various theories about the origin of the Three-Knife hairpin. The most popular one claims that it evolved from small sharp weapons worn by women during the Ming Dynasty in order to defend themselves against Japanese pirates raiding China’s coastline, by killing their enemies, or even committing suicide.

In June 2024, the three knives were selected as an intangible cultural heritage of Fuzhou, and more people became aware of this traditional clothing culture.

do you think any of the air nomads had complex thoughts or resentments about most of them not being raised by their parents? do you think aang did? (i know quite a bit about adoptees and i know most adoptees have complex thoughts about it once they come out of what they call ‘the adoptee fog’.) do you think it causes any insecurities for them, like abandonment issues or such? i don’t know if you have any thoughts on it, but i was curious on what you think!
ummmm…. so you know how like…. social structures such as the nuclear family model are not ontologically necessitated and adoptees being raised in a culture that reifies the importance of biological parentage are likely to feel an emotional disconnect but if you were raised in a culture that prioritizes communal living and de-emphasizes the supposed sanctity of a direct genetic lineage you are probably far less likely to feel alienated from your community because everyone else also shares your experience…… yeah so it’s probably kind of something like that…..
