Maya immediately rushed over and took Nya from her, holding her close. She looked at Skylor with a grateful look.

“Th-Thank you for bringing her here, Skylor,” She spoke in a soft voice. “I’m glad that you’re safe as well...”

“We won’t be safe for too long,” Lloyd took in a deep breath. “Everyone who isn’t capable of fighting should go into the infirmary... At least- At least it’s somewhat safer in there... Everyone else can do their best to keep fighting once they break through,”

“Th-they’re here already?” Jay trembled.

“You three work on the mech, I’ll see if I can hold them off if the snakes break through,” Lloyd stood up, trying his best to hide his shaking. Wu stood as well and looked to the door.

“I can work on repairs right now!” Jay grabbed onto his toolbox. “Maybe it won’t take too long...”

“I can help as well,” Pixal said.

“Not really, you’re still kinda shaky, and it’s not good to put your heart through so much strain... It’s been through a lot lately,” Jay sighed. “But I know that your powers are more useful than mine against the snakes, so... As much as I want you to not fight, we really need you, just please take it easy,”

“Yeah, that’s true,” Jay sighed, glancing around the room. There was quite a lot of people down there who needed protection... “Maybe I can go with, and maybe Lloyd can too...? We really need that scroll..”

Jay was putting the last of his tools away into his toolbox. It was decorated with stickers that he had stuck on there. He looked up at Zane when he came closer.

“Are you really going to try and head out there too?” Jay asked, looking almost sad.

“That... Still is important, Zane,” Cole frowned slightly. “Still take it easy. Nya’s going to help,”

“Cooling them down will just heat you up even more, which will make your systems shut down even faster since they’re not completely up,” Cole reminded him, shifting Kai slightly in his arms. “You can help fight, but once you’re at least past 90%, okay?”

Cole took in several deep breaths, appreciating the cold thay Zane provided. It definitely helped to calm them both down. He offered Zane a small smile.

“Th-Thank you, Frosty,” Cole whispered. “You should really sit back down, you’re still not doing too well... Get more rest, Zane...”

Cole wasn’t expecting Kai to run into him with so much force. He toppled onto his back and crashed onto the floor, but kept a tight hold on Kai. The heat radiating off of his body made Cole panic. It almost seemed to remind him of the soffocating heat against his body in the beast’s stomach he had been in. Cole trembled and held onto Kai tighter.

“C-calm down, please..” He whispered. “Please..”

Cole managed to get up to his feet and got between them, holding his hands out to grab onto Kai once he got close enough.

“K-Kai, now isn’t the time to be fighting against each other! Don’t hurt him,” He huffed slightly. “Those snakes are c-capable of a lot, let Wu help and don’t cause trouble for anyone, okay?”
