Kids...
Sometimes the wife and I laugh about how good our kids have it compared to our childhood.  Although, my wife did go to DisneyLand just about every year in here teens up until she was 21yrs I believe.  I on the other hand didn’t even leave the Lone Star state my whole childhood.  I’m not even bitter about it though, I knew that when I got older I would travel as much as I could.  So, that was one of our goals when my wife and I got married, travel as much as possible, whenever possible.
I think I sometimes spoil my kids a little too much but, I just want them to have everything I didn’t when I was their age.  I do limit myself, I make them earn most of it and they get excited even about the tiniest rewards.  Going to grab ice cream is one of their favorites, I remember not even able to do that as a child, not because I was bad but, because we couldn’t afford it.  We weren’t living in extreme poverty. Parents just didn’t have good jobs for extra stuff, which was fine, we made the best of what we had.
Now, I look into my kids rooms and they have LED TV’s with internet.  They watch YouTube and Netflix (mostly kid shows and kid movies).  I didn’t even have a TV in my room at their age, our only TV was in the living room and barely worked, LOL.  As my brothers (3 boys total) got older, myself and my little brother had a TV in our rooms so the older we got, it got better.  My kids have it now and sometimes it seemed like a big mistake.  One day I was watching TV in the living room and my daughter wanted to watch TV and I had told her, it was my turn, I let them watch TV in the living room for a couple of hours.  She just sat there and gave a little attitude.  I asked her what was wrong, she said “My TV is too little”.  I was floored, hurt and disappointed all at once so, naturally, I got upset and told her the whole, I didn’t have a TV in my room with cable and internet and she was acting like a spoiled little brat.
The problem was, in her mind, she thinks all kids have TV’s in their rooms and live a lavish lifestyle.  I had to give her a reality check and explain to her that she is lucky to have everything she has because not all kids have what she has.  I didn’t realize it at first but, it was because I let them watch these kid shows on YouTube and the kids on there have RICH parents.  They show how they are going to Hawaii for vacations, swimming in their pools, have all these toys and foods that they “review” on YouTube and live a nice life.  Well, I don’t think reality has still hit but, I’m trying, first by them not seeing those stupid shows anymore and limiting their time on YouTube and TV.  Now their time, just like mine was, is now playing outside as long as possible.  Anything on YouTube has to be of something that they can do, realistically, baseball (my boy) and gymnastics (my girl...she doesn’t like to sweat unless its of her choosing).
This is my first time parenting and the wife and I are trying everything on our own with no help from our parents (our choosing) unless we really need some help.  Plus, my parents are the greatest parents so, yea, thats another story, LOL!

Gun Control...
I have my views and not everyone has agreed with me and I take what they have to say in consideration of a different way of thinking.
See, I am a USAF Veteran and I take pride in my country that I so proudly served.  So, most veterans, NOT ALL, think along the lines of the way I do.  Hire some Veterans that are in between jobs or just need a job that have experience with firearms.  Not just the shooting part but, the safety and use of them as well.  I’m also for getting a handful of teachers in each school the right training for the safety of our children in school.  BUT, before they even have to bring out that self-defense weapon, the schools SHOULD be utilizing their local PD for ideas/advice on how to protect their schools in a worst case scenario.
What are your ideas on how to possibly take gun control...controlled?

Music?
What happened to the days of good music?  Better radio DJ’s with a bigger variety of songs within an hours span?  I try listening to the radio here in San Antonio, TX and these daytime DJ’s play the same shit over and over.  The song gets played out before I can even enjoy it!  I now mainly listen to my music from my phone or iTunes on my Mac.  The commercials on the radio are ridiculous as well as the ones on Pandora.  Now, I haven’t searched for any other source of music that plays less commercials with no paid subscription either.  If you have any suggestions, I’d be more than happy to hear them out.
So whats your take on the new music of today?
Do you still prefer your music that you grew up listening to?
I myself am an 80′s baby and listen to just about everything.

Life of Dad
It’s kinda complicated but, it kinda gets easier...
So, I’ve been wanting to put some sort of blog together and just go off about life and my thoughts, ideas and opinions.  Why?  Why not...some day my kids will read this and hopefully understand me more.  Plus, they can see how others might argue their point over mine and thats ok, not everyone will agree.  Social media has taken over a lot of peoples lives and they thrive off of the “likes”.  Life isn’t about how many “likes” you get and there are a lot of people that haven’t realized that yet, sadly.
Being a Dad is a trip sometimes, I can be happy go lucky one minute and then BOOM! someone snuck in kool-aid into their room and spilled it all over their bed (place in facepalm, LOL) and I’m not so happy anymore.  Well, thats what we call parenthood, well at least for me.  The wife most of the time, makes things better and tells me things like, its okay, it can be washed, cleaned, picked up etc.  She is my rock and my pillow at the same time.  She is my Queen.
Before all this Dad stuff, I thought I had it made.  Spending money like it was going out of style, partying, getting drunk, sleeping around and just being the typical single guy.  Until, I met her, the woman I’d spend the rest of my life with. The usually nights I’d spend long nights at the club or bar trying to take home my next one-night-stand, was now talking on the phone at my apartment with this special girl that always brought a smile to my face.  She was the one I fell asleep thinking about and waking up thinking about.  I’d do anything for her, all she had to do was ask.
So, we got married, had some fun, then reproduced.  We have a 8yr old daughter and 6yr old son.  We have our pair and they made us complete, we want to pull our hair sometimes but, we wouldn’t have it any other way.  That is a short story for us to get to now.  The rest of my posts will be of different things, I’ll even go off on tangents and forget what I was originally posting about but, anyone that wants to chime in, you are more than welcome to.  We not agree on the “correct” answer but, oh well, life ain’t perfect.
So, welcome to my world and here is my story...
