So bizarre seeing one of my old hs acquaintances go from being normal to posting about how if she as a latino american got deported by ice she would gladly cooperate because illegal immigrants are all rapists and murderers

somewhere out there right now is a kid with curly hair being raised by people who have wavy hair at best and those people are giving them 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and telling them to dry brush it. and that kid is gonna spend all of middle school and high school hating their hair and moping over the flat iron. they're being told right now that if they don't dry-brush their curl pattern into oblivion every morning it means they're unkempt and gross even though they naturally have the kind of ringlets that a thousand bridezillas would commit horrible murders for every june. it's happening right now it's an absolute epidemic and a tragedy every time

tumblr is such a different animal than other social media platforms for so many reasons obviously but one thing i really find funny about it is how on other sites if i see something that doesn't interest me i don't follow or don't like the post. but on here if someone i follow starts posting exclusively about something really niche that i have no interest in my reaction is never to unfollow. its just part of the natural environment. like oh mutual is now really into pro wrestling? ok i guess ill be seeing these guys around now

I didn’t go to my city’s pride this year mainly because of the heat, summers here reach 100s and I’m on medication that makes me prone to heat exhaustion

I’m kind of sad about it though because some acquaintances from high school went and i think it would have been nice to run into them there

I haven’t gone to a pride event since 2016 and I really miss it. Last time i went i met a really awesome bi girl and got to hold hands with her, a photographer actually came along and took our picture but I have no idea where it ended up

While I agree that one sided “parasocial relationships” can turn into unhealthy obsessions or lead to disrespecting someone’s boundaries, I feel like some of you get unnecessarily self critical whenever you find yourself behaving even a little parasocially about a celebrity or influencer. Like even just thinking someone you’ve never met is cool or funny or relatable will get people saying shit like “ugh i wanna like them but I don’t want to be in a parasocial relationship with them”

I know this is the self flagellation catholic guilt website but i mean come on, surely you guys know what it means to be a fan of someone? Or to have a celebrity crush or even just to admire or look up to someone? Like unless you’re crossing their boundaries or invading their privacy you aren’t doing anything wrong by liking them or getting excited when you see them. This is just another normal behavior that gets pathologized for some reason.

Man……… I shouldn’t have applied for this retail job lmao I just found out the place I interned at is opening new positions starting July. I literally could’ve just waited.

I’m still gonna apply for jobs with my former employers because I prefer boring office work a billion times over retail but I’m sure my current boss won’t be too happy about me leaving shortly after starting 😭 Not my problem though.
