We Are a Family Trying to Survive Under Bombs and Hunger

I'm writing on behalf of my family, from under the rubble of fear, hunger, and war. Life here has turned into a daily struggle for the most basic things: food, water, safety. We have lost almost everything — and what little remains is far beyond our reach.

There’s no bread, no clean water, no electricity. Medicine is a dream.Even when these essentials appear, they come with prices we simply can’t afford. Imagine going to sleep hungry, waking up to explosions, and wondering if you'll survive the day.

We divide a single meal among us like it’s gold. Some days, we have nothing at all. The fear is constant. The hunger is real. But the hardest part is watching those you love suffer and being unable to help.

Ibrahim is one of the Palestinians that I've known since the beginning of the genocide along with Nader. His father is currently in a grave situation as his cancer keeps spreading. With the murderous Zionists still keeping the borders close, it makes it all the more difficult for this young boy to help his father evacuate. Today is the birthday of my brother Mahmoud, whom we have not seen for two years because of the occupation that closed the Rafah crossing and prevented him from returning to us in Gaza. He has been living in Egypt in a difficult exile for two years. Would anyone like to congratulate him or send him a little money?To help him in the circumstances he is going through after he lost his shop in Gaza and his future became unknown ..

Fletcher said five trucks of aid went into Gaza yesterday, but described this as a “drop in the ocean” and totally inadequate for the population’s needs. He said the aid lorries, which contain baby food and nutrition, are technically in Gaza but have not reached civilians as they are just on the other side of the border.

Five trucks had entered Gaza for the first time in 3 months. This compares to 500 trucks every day before October 2023. There are miles of loaded trucks that Israel continue to block from entering besieged Gaza.

Make no mistake, Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war against 2 million people.

When I came across this horrific headline, I immediately thought of my friend @amalashournew, who is trapped in Gaza and has been navigating this genocide with her toddler. Thanks to your donations to Amal’s campaign, she has managed to provide for her daughter, but prices of what little food remains in Gaza are now higher than anytime before, which makes this time far more critical for donations and shares than ever before.

Frankly and briefly, the situation in Gaza cannot be written about in a mere post or expressed in a mere picture or video clip. The situation in Gaza is more like an end-of-the-world movie, but this movie is titled The End of Gaza!!

If you think about it…. the acronym KYS isn’t saying “kill yourself,” it’s saying Kill Your Self. Three words. As in, kill the concept of the “Self” - your consciousness’s perception that it is an individual, that it has one meaningful isolated identity that is “you,” that it is not but a droplet in the grand ocean of interconnected souls of all living beings in this universe.
