So I’m still alive folks. I got a nervous breakdown for my birthday and then a week later I got a new job, so my social media, writing, everything’s fallen by the wayside.

I came back to so many messages today and I just cannot believe how thoughtful my friends on here are. Thanks for checking in, I’m sitting here blubbering away because I forgot that some people actually do give a crap about me. I’m sorry I didn’t respond up until now. I just didn’t have the energy.

I completed my Swift, HTML and CSS courses, so now I’m moving on to Javascript and finally editing Domesticity – which I haven’t finished writing, by the way. Still alive, folks!)

Rejecting pointless meetings was the best decision I’ve ever made. (Although I’m loving antagonising the developers by suggesting we make an app for the employee well-being portal and if they need a hand with iOS development, I’m their girl now 😂).

The appraisal went well, and while the company isn’t in a position to give me a full bonus because profit’s down, they’re still going to give me a little extra on my Christmas pay! And they’re giving in to my demands for more copy staff and home working because they don’t want me to quit. Yay! Let’s see how long this lasts!

If anyone’s wondering how I am, I’ve figured out how to automate remotely clocking in and out of work and had a meltdown so big that people are being nice to me because they’re scared! I’m still alive tho!

Sorry I’ve been AWOL. I’m kind of just focusing on getting through the weeks here, trying to master JavaScript and staying away from the computer when I’m not coding or working. It’s kind of helping. I hope everyone’s well!

This week, I scored two job interviews. One company I had applied to before lockdown and they just called out of the blue. It’s a residential village for people living with disabilities – it’s just down the road from where I live and they’re looking for a Communications Officer. And then a startup software company in San Francisco got in touch because they need a Copywriter and it pays so so well. 

But then another place wanted me to freelance for them for £70 a week. Which is a bit of a slap in the face given my hourly rate is half that. They’ve obviously never hired a Copywriter before...

So... pray for me.

Apple silicon is life (aside from buggy Photoshop which I’ll probably have to make do with until it runs natively); I’m building my first landing page from scratch; learning C and Swift; and I’m gonna perform brain surgery on my old MBP to upgrade the SSD tomorrow (I still wanna try and upgrade the RAM but I’m not a mentalist yet). I’m not dead and I gained lots of hobbies on my week off. Hope everyone’s doing alright!
