Subassemblies with alligator clips and cardboard is the way to go.

Here's a link to a handy guide
I got a question. How does one go about painting a gunpla? Do you build first then prime? Prime first then build? Just go straight paint to model? I did the latter, and it came out okay, but I dunno if it'll hold for larger sections

You get to direct the Minotaurs against one chapter and get a good book for it. Would you choose the MM, the Bitch Templars, or someone else?
Probably Black Templars, for both the catharsis of seeing them getting censured, and also because the reaction from a really specific portion of people would be hilarious.
#saying this as a black templars fan and player#more than any other loyalist chapter#they have it coming

An Elemantalist Mage of the High Elf Realms, likely mainly going to be used as a Stormcaller for my Sea Guard Garrison force.
High Elves are a pretty welcome departure from my usual grimdark painting fare - focusing on bright, saturated, clean colours is a lot of fun.

Oh I think you can still run them - they folded venerable dreads and regular dreads into one profile if I remember correctly. They're just in a similar spot to Tactical Squads (and other firstborn kits) where they're being phased out over time. I don't think you can buy a new, regular castraferrum dread off the web store any more, just the venerable.

Venerable Brother Magnor of the Adanac Reach Crusade of Black Templars.
I wanted to do a quick and simple Black Templars model to keep my recent hobby streak going, so I grabbed an old castraferrum-pattern dread out of storage. It's a shame ye olde boxnaughts don't really have a home in a mainline GW system any more - hopefully they're still usable in the new edition of Heresy and I can form a post-scouring Templars force of Firstborn using the rules there.

“And they remained, like shadows of a bygone beauty — tall and silent, watching over a world that is no longer theirs.”

Completed my Merwyrm for my fledgling Sea Guard Garrison army for The Old World. I fell in love with this sculpt ages ago and was pretty disappointed that I missed the boat on picking it up back before 8th ed WHFB died. Needless to say, I was pretty thrilled when GW bought it back for TOW.
