we'll make a home on the cracks (glowing review)
"The sun was warm on Simon’s skin, the waves of the sea a distant lullaby, the gull’s cries piercingly loud and the line in front of the ice cream shop stretching out far beyond where Simon could see, when he looked up into the smiling face of a stranger he’d likely never forget. "
Working in an ice cream parlor to earn some cash inbetween semesters has been a very responsible and mature decision, Simon knows that. But it's also been boring as hell. That changes when one day, a chance-encounter changes the course of his next twenty-four hours, and possibly his entire life. He's never been a romantic, never believed in the one true love. So, why does saying goodbye feel like dying?
Well... here I am, yet again, on a Friday, posting something. You can find the story here.

Ok hear me out, I had a realisation. At the start of the series, Simon is quite sassy and doesn’t bite his tongue, but as the series progresses, that side of him fades away, until... the final scene. His last line 'what the hell do you think?' is so significant because it's the first time he's been sarcastic in ages. In that last moment, Simon is finally back to his true self.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but Wille not having a plethora of hobbies doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a personality. It just means he’s a teenager who goes to school, does his homework, and hangs out with his friends/boyfriend in his free time. He used to play a sport but then he quit because he decided he doesn’t want to do it anymore. He tried out the choir but realized it wasn’t for him. All of this is like peak normal teenager. It doesn’t mean he’s not an interesting person. Not having a bunch of interests/hobbies doesn’t mean that he’s not funny, smart, kind, loyal, wtv.
