It came fast. Faster than him and his mind couldn’t comprehend that. Maybe it had to do with the alcohol. Or maybe it had to do with the already blow to his right shoulder. Nonetheless he fell backwards, stammering back, desperate to grab something near him but fell right on his back. He groaned, low and full of pain as he reached for his stomach. So this was how he was going to go out. Somehow Pietro thought it would be over something cooler. A pathetic shot from a HYDRA agent? If he could laugh right now, he would. Instead he coughed, finding it difficult to breathe.

Yeah, he was going to die. 

He thought about Wanda. How she would find his body laying here on the ground. Dead and gone. Just like their parents.

No, he couldn’t die like this. His eyes closed for a moment, trying to regain his strength. Focus, Pietro. This wasn’t the time to die. They promised each other they wouldn’t end up like their parents. They’d revenge them. They would live.

His fingers applied some pressure to the wound, earning another groan from his lips. He was loosing a lot of blood. He could feel it all over his hands. If he didn’t get a hold of the bleeding, he would most likely die or pass out. Reluctantly, the Sokovian sat up slowly, carefully, afraid of causing more damage. This was exactly what he deserved for the stupid stunt. In his typical show-off fashion, Pietro had zipped through the crowd of HYDRA agents, purposefully gaining their attention while Hope led a few people out an exit in the opposite direction. It was meant to be helpful. Actually up until his downfall, it was helpful. But he didn’t want to go out this way. Bullet to the stomach. Falling to the ground. 

Yeah, he was going to die. 

And all he could think about was how this couldn’t possibly be the way he’d go.
