Hi, I came back from the dead to point out how I never told you what I do for a living by my chemical romance is a song that perfectly describes Dutch's descent into insanity.

Like, basically how the whole song is about someone doing horrible things and killing people just to get their dead lover back and in the end it turns out they did all of that for nothing, they fixed nothing, just made everything worse. Gerard starts out singing the lyrics, but as the song goes further, he starts getting louder and louder and ends up screaming by the end. Also my favorite detail is how basically, throughout the second half of the song Gerard keeps repeating I tried, tried and they start out sounding really angry and defensive but as the song goes on, they start to sound more desperate and pained and by the end they just sound like someone screaming while crying and just defeated and God, there are so many tiny details I could point out about this song that just match his story so well but I'm really tired now and this is probably very incoherent.

rdr2 arthur morgan's journal is my favourite storytelling device ever, video game or otherwise. he's a boulder of a man: broad shouldered and scowl faced most of the time. he reserves something of himself because he leads a life that needs a bit of reserve—arthur raids houses, and collects debts, and robs at gun point. he lets his physicality do the talking.

the only place arthur freely expresses himself is his journal, which you have access to, and as his story unfolds, he adds more and more to it. he draws beautiful illustrations of last night's campfire, with impressions of his friends. he sketches rabbits you saw in passing. he adds small symbols and reminders for himself. he writes, wondering how he can live with himself, wondering if tomorrow he'll be dead, and just grieving, grieving, grieving.

arthur morgan's journal is an object of function and beauty: functional because it's a player action log and beautiful because it expresses arthur's rich interior life.

Dutch is a very complicated character, in my opinion the trolley crash had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the changes in his behavior, but if something in that specific mission were to cause a change in him, it would probably be the fact that it was another job he was hoping would help them back on top and instead it was just another massive failure

The theory that Dutch went “crazy” bc of his head injury on the trolley doesn't really hold up. I say this as someone who has endured multiple life-altering head injuries. To change someone's personality like people claim it did Dutch's, it would have to be an incredibly severe injury, not just a minor concussion.

I can think of one medical case where this occurred to such an extent. It was Phineas Gage where his personality changed completely. And guess what caused it? An iron rod went all the way through his head. So, the likelihood of Dutch's minor head injury being the cause of his behavior in ch4-6 is very low.

Personally, I think it's as simple as Dutch was a manipulator, knowingly or not. And when John and Arthur were slipping away his tactics of manipulation fell through, hence his change in behavior.
