“One of the basic human needs is a home: a place where you feel safe. Not only physically but also mentally. Queer people are often in search of a ‘mental home’ as family and friends may not accept them. Not many get the chance to find a new family, but some succeed. On February 24, all Ukrainians lost their physical home. They were forced to flee from Russia’s military attack on Ukraine.For queer people, the constant search for a home is common. Feelings of search and loneliness become permanent.”
