what do other people think of the watcher dlc. i thought it was ok. obviously not the greatest but i liked it enough. not everything can be a banger and i understand some of the people who don't like it.

spoiler discussion under the cut

i felt there was a lot of lead up with the rot and echo/void stuff, but then it kinda just ... ?? went in two separate directions? like they were two unrelated story lines. and not connected really at all.

not only that it felt like ... neither ending had much weight in the grand scheme of things? like yaaay this kid echo moved on yaay echos can maybe ascend/move on. and then it's like. okay what now. what does it mean for anything else. what about my rifts. nothing ??/ otaayyy.... and then u get the second ending and it's like. okay well that explains the rifts . i guess? i spread rot. but why. why am i spreading rot. is it accidental?? on purpose????? and then prince shows up and it's like. yaaaayyy the rot became sentient from all it consumed yay thats cool. and then it still kind of means nothing. regions get rotted and infected and the idea is like ... prince wants to rot everything so they all live together as one? or something? which is an interesting idea. but. there's not really any weight behind it. or why we're doing this still. like what does this mean for the rain world

also back to the lead up with the rot n stuff.. like at the beginning you have the echo teleport you and the world is more fucked up each time. LIKE WHAT DOES THAT MEAN !!!!!!!!!! was the echo doing that??? what if the rot was just like. a disease of reality. caused by the echo (and you) tearing big open holes in the world and fucking around. or like... that the void/echo and rot were opposed in some way. that the void spawn could be some sort of immune system for reality, and thats why they keep trying to eat you. you're a foreign body in the system. you are spreading infection. GET OUTTTTT !!!! like what if reality was a living creature amd you were the equivalent of a virus accidentally fucking everything over. not like you'd know. how could a virus or organism as small as that, ever comprehend the scale and complexity of a person? it has no ill will or anything .. it's just doing what it does.

idk everything just feels all up in the air and there's really no explanation for anything at all. maybe i missed some things but ... still

and i say all this as a rw fan since the beginning <3 also if people want to discuss on this post it'd be fine. JUST BE NICE !!!!!!
