this is genuinely true for a lot of the scary mental disorders tm tbh to the extent it significantly impacts how and when and how often those disorders/conditions are diagnosed

(its also tangentially true of a lot of physical medical conditions specifically chronic disorders)

as someone who works in a housing program objectively this is an issue that affects trans women and trans men incredibly similarly its a trans thing not a transfemme thing

Performative “feminists” on this site care more about labels and identity than the physical safety of vulnerable people.

Trans people deserve shelter, and they deserve to have safe shelter. They should be safe to use whatever shelter they have proximity to and desire to be in. They should not be turned away on the basis of their gender presentation or legal sex. Transgender men experience sexual violence at higher rates than cisgender women, and forcing them to sleep and shower with cisgender men is just as dangerous as forcing a transgender woman to do the same. Access to safe shelter is not a zero sum game!

Find shelter & housing, and if you have the means, go find an LGBT+ friendly program to support monetarily.

It's really great that so many people are abandoning the word hermaphrodite in zoology, but now we have a new problem. That being the misuse of the word intersex in its place.

Referring to cosexed animal species as intersex perpetuates the exact same misinformation that the H slur does.

What misinformation would that be? The idea that intersexuality is anything similar to the reproductive organization of cosexual species like snails and worms.

Intersex refers to a variation-from-typical in the sex traits of individuals. Examples include calico cats with male reproductive organs, humans with ovotestes, does with antlers, bilateral gynandromorphy, etc

Cosexual refers to a species that had dual reproductive function, such as snails, worms, leeches, etc

These are separate and unrelated things and it is ACTIVELY HARMFUL to conflate them. The H slur conflates them because it is a word originally used for intersex people being applied to cosexual animals. Directly calling cosexual animals intersex DOES THE SAME THING.
