Aquarium Date!

(fluff w/ Stan Marsh x Fem!reader)

Where is she? Stan thought as he looked around through the large crowd, packs of families with their care-free children clinging onto their parents arms, pulling them excitedly towards the entrance of the aquarium. Stan was close to calling you, worried that maybe you changed your mind after thinking he isn’t good enough, that you felt like a second choice or a rebound or—

“Hey, Stan!” Suddenly being pulled away from his overthinking, he looked up and scanned the crowd once again, where he finally spotted you. And wow you looked absolutely breath-taking, your hair all neatly styled and you decided to wear such a cute summer dress that hugged your curves rather nicely— Stan shook his head, “W-wow, (Y/N) you look amazing.” He complimented, causing you to give him a cheeky smile. “Thanks, Stan! Sorry for keeping you waiting, had a few issues with getting here.” You explain, the dark haired boy chuckled, “Don’t tell me you got lost.”

You pretended to be insulted, gasping in shock as you placed a hand on your chest. Stan’s eyes followed your hand to your chest and noticed that you were wearing the Lego necklace he had gifted you when you two went shopping at the mall. "How rude!" You scoffed with a pout. Stan rolled his eyes playfully at you; he couldn’t help but smile at himself, happy that you appreciated his gift, since he too was wearing the other half of the necklace, which was hidden under his hoodie.

"Oh, won’t you ever forgive me, (Y/N)?" He asked, pretending to be hurt. With your arms crossed, you looked up at him, trying to keep a serious face before giggling and bringing your hands to cup his face. "Hmm, I’ll forgive you if you.." You trailed off as you leaned in closer; Stan’s heart was beginning to thump faster—were you really going to kiss him now? Oh god, you look so beautiful, your lips looked so soft, and—

You pulled away quickly and chuckled, "Show me around the aquarium!" Stan frowned a bit before lightly chuckling. "Sounds good to me." With that, you slipped your hand into his and led him towards the aquarium’s entrance. Stepping inside, you first had to pay for your ticket at the entrance booth. As you went to grab your wallet, Stan placed a hand over yours before handing the ticket seller some cash. "My treat, (Y/N)." He said as he took the wristbands from the employee, handing you one with a small smile.

You smiled sweetly back at him, causing the fluttering in his stomach to begin once more. "Thank you, Stan. You’re too sweet." You said as you put on the wristband, making sure it wasn’t too tight so you were able to take it off later and save it as some kind of memento. You looked up to see Stan trying to put the band on, concentrating as he didn’t want to get the sticky part in the wrong area. You couldn’t help but smile at the cute display. "Need some help?" You offered, and he looked at you with a sheepish smile. "Yes please." 

He gave you the band, and you took his hand, where you then helped him put the band around him. After finishing, you then intertwined your hand in his and quickly dragged him further inside the aquarium, where you both were met with the main tank. It was filled with a variety of colorful fish and sea life. "Woah!" You exclaim as you watch a school of fish swim inside the pinkish reefs. Stan couldn’t help but admire the shimmer in your eyes, the fascinated look across your face, and oh, how he longed to kiss your glossy lips.

Still holding your hand, he gives it a small squeeze, causing you to look up at him. Hey, I thought you wanted me to show you around." He teased, and you rolled your eyes playfully at him, "It’s still on the table, dummy. So where should we head first?" He chuckled, and the two of you walked hand in hand with one another down to the Tropical Section of the Aquarium. There, the two of you admired the vibrant and colorful marine life swimming about in their tanks.

The two of you stopped in the middle of a tunnel tank, where a group of turtles swam above you. Looking up, you snuck a glance at Stan; the way the aquarium lights illuminated his face as his half-lidded eyes followed the fish swim by made you smile. Stan was incredibly handsome; you adored his messy hair and the small smirk he’d give you every time the two of you would tease each other. All of these little things made your heart stammer.

As the two of you finished exploring half of the inside of the aquarium, an announcement was made, inviting guests to check out the dolphin show now starting in the outdoor area of the aquarium. "Wanna check that out?" Stan asked as he looked down at you, and you gave him an eager nod. Making your way towards the doors to the outdoor area, you noticed numerous families crowding around the small entrance, causing the two of you to squish up shoulder to shoulder against each other.

"Guess we aren’t the only ones who want to see the show." You joked lightheartedly, Stan chuckled, "Let’s hope we get some decent seats at least." With more people shuffling to get towards the doors, you started to get irritated by the enclosed spacing and let go of Stan’s hand. He looked down at you, his thoughts starting to consume him, telling him that you’re not enjoying the date, and—

"There we go, much better." You sighed, feeling more comfortable as you clinged to Stan’s arm, squishing him close to your chest, which helped give you more space from the overbearing crowd. Stan’s overthinking quickly melted away, and smiled in relief at how cute you were acting towards him. Finally, as the two of you made it outside, you pointed to some open seats around the center. Walking over and taking your seat, you shifted your hold onto his arm and returned to holding his hand.

"I haven’t seen a dolphin show in so long, well, I guess more like an orca show.." He said as he caressed his thumb over your hand, you hummed in response. "When’s the last time you’ve seen one?" He pursed his lips for a moment before lightly chuckling, "Few years back, when I was a kid. I remember the whale was named Jambu and—" He said before the announcer came back and told guests that the show was about to begin.

You gave him a sincere smile and took your other hand to pat his knee, "You can tell me about Jambu in a bit." He nodded, softly smiling back at you. The two of you then turn your attention towards the large open tank in front of you, where four dolphins swam around gleefully, flipping around and squeaking as their trainers treated them with fish.

Seeing the many tricks they did had both you and Stan watching in anticipation for the dolphin’s next trick. Occasionally, the two of you would comment on how the show was going and even chat about Jambu and how Stan and his friends sent him to the moon. After the show concluded, both you and Stan decided to explore more of the outdoor area of the aquarium, where you got to visit the adorable sea otter exhibit.

After leaving the area, you then spotted a small ice cream booth and dragged Stan over. You decided to share a cup of ice cream, and this time you hurriedly pulled out your wallet and paid for the both of you before Stan could. "My treat." You said gleefully as you passed him the cold treat, he took it with a small frown, "Next time I’ll be paying, got it?" You rolled your eyes playfully at him, shrugging as you grabbed a plastic spoon and stuck it into the dessert. "You'll have to beat me to it though," he raised his eyebrow at you and gave you one of his signature small smirks. "Oh yeah? You’re on, (Y/N)." 

Your cheeks were tinted a pretty pink color before chuckling, "C'mon, let's go check out the penguins!" Stan smiled back at you, adoring your flushed look and the way your eyes squinted a bit as you smiled. Following you to the exhibit, the two of you shared the treat, and you would even offered to feed him whenever you it. Stan felt nausea running through him—it wasn't that the ice cream was bad; no, it was how pretty you looked and the fact that you were sharing indirect kisses with him since you decided to grab only one spoon. Oh, he longed to genuinely share a kiss with you, hold you close, and tell you how much he enjoys spending time with you. 

With the ice cream now discarded, the two of you decided to head back inside where you entered the Deep Ocean Sector of the Aquarium. There were many displays of luminescent shrimp, octopi, and other interesting creatures. However, what really captured your attention was the large tank in the middle, filled with jellyfish swimming so peacefully. The two of you stood in front of the centre of the tank. Most people were still outside due to another show starting, and most kids found this section of the aquarium rather scary due to its darkness. 

As you and Stan stood hand in hand, admiring the lustrous specimens swimming by, Stan decided to glance at you. Your face looked so perfect; you were so perfect; everything about you made sense and brought so much comfort into his life. He’s been so incredibly grateful that you decided to give him a chance, his heart racing a mile a second as he longed to kiss your beautiful face. "(Y/N)," You turned your head to look at him, a soft smile grazing your lips as you hummed in response. He fully turned to you, causing you to do the same. "Everything alright?" You asked as you held both his hands and intertwined your fingers, hoping to reassure him with whatever he was going to say, and he gave you a soft smile. 

"Everything’s perfect. I-I’m just really happy to spend time with you." He said, his cheeks beginning to flush as he saw your soft smile. "I’m really happy too, Stan; thank you for bringing me on this date. I loved every second of it." You said as you looked up at him, your eyes glancing down to his lips and back to his eyes. He gave you a look of adoration, "You’re so perfect (Y/N)," He whispered lowly, only for you to hear as he brought a hand to your face and tucked a piece of hair behind your ear. You felt your face begin to warm and smiled up at him as you leaned in closer, your chest pressing against his.

He placed his hand on your cheek and slowly leaned down before hesitating. You chuckled lightly before pressing your lips against his. Your first kiss with one another was so tender and sweet. His hold on you filled with so much care and love that as you pulled away, you couldn’t help but admire how incredible he looked, feeling so fortunate to have him; Stan Marsh to be the one you can call yours. Sighing in delight, he caressed your cheek and placed another kiss on your lips. "I’m so lucky," You giggled and rested your head on his chest as you turned back towards the tank. "Aren’t they beautiful?" He rested his arms around you and chuckled. Stan turned toward the tank before looking back at you. "I disagree," you turned your head and glanced up at him, a surprised look spreading across your face. "Hm?" Stan smirked at you and placed a kiss on your temple. "I think they’re pretty, sure, but you, you’re beautiful."

This is sort of a continuation of my other Stan fic, and decided to write out the first kiss scene since I may have inspired it from a date with my boyfriend LOL I'll try to post again this weekend and will be working on a Tweek request!
