Okay, R76 of it all aside, this part of the Jeffbomb stood out to me because it seems relevant to Ana:
Specifically, these panels in Uprising:
Jack asks questions, but Ana seems the most pointedly skeptical of Gabe, and the one who is actually challenging him. This doesn’t seem to have affected her and Jack’s relationship:
And so I think it’s fairly significant that when Ana “died,” Jack not only lost one of his closest friends in Overwatch, but maybe the only person who was both insightful enough to see through Gabe, and close enough to him that he might actually listen to them when they cast doubt on his “war buddy.”
This gets kind of weird when you look at Ana and Reaper’s interactions, though. His voice lines seem to have him as more disappointed than anything else that he’s fighting her, and there’s this panel in Old Soldiers, where he runs from her instead of continuing their fight, and gives her this warning:
Anyway. I have no idea what to make of that part, but I thought this shed some light on Ana’s importance in the Overwatch leadership dynamic, and her partnership with Jack going forward.
The information above all comes from official Overwatch hero bios, videos and articles, as well as interviews and panels from devs, so even if some of my estimated dates (which you can identify using the timeline key) aren’t 100% to the year the chronology should make sense, and the events are all canonical.
I have a FAQ & Info Post, as well as a Source Links post related to this timeline, so check it out! Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions, comments, etc. :)
Please don’t re-post this timeline! It’ll be updated here as new information comes out, and like any other piece of art I simply don’t want my compilation to be distributed without my consent!
Current Patch: 11/5/2017 - Release of MOIRA!! Patch notes under the cut!
Jesse McCree is, like, AMAZINGLY good at stealth. That’s why he was recruited to Blackwatch. When he wants to, he can move perfectly silently.
This was an asset in the field, but it was becoming a serious problem on the base, because you had all these trained soldiers with hair-trigger reflexes who reacted badly to people appearing suddenly behind them.
They ended up making him wear spurs so they could keep track of him. If he ever takes them off he’s a ghost.
