It happened in the library...

While not the closest of friends, the group of young men and women shared a class that some may or may not have particularly liked, but it was needed for the sake of good grades. The class was large, their professor somewhat evil as he paired random students together in groups to do research for what he called a “big project” that would be worth “a good chuck of their final grade.”

Fantastic.

It would take a team leader, but too many were interested in the role. The only thing they all really had in common was that they wanted to pass, so they agreed that a study session in the library would be a good place to research on neutral ground. 

Only an hour or so into their research, two wandered to the back in search of extra material. What they found was a surprised to them. The old leather bound book looked like it belonged anywhere but a college library. They brought it back to the group, curious about their findings when the book flew from their hands.

It landed on the table, open to a particular page.  The words scribbled on the page were handwritten, not printed, and seemingly in another language. The group hovered over the book, all eyes on the pages as one member read aloud the words on the page.

It was then that there was a flicker of light throughout the room, a gust of wind rushing from the book and surrounded the students before disappearing.

All frightened, creeped out, and a little bit worried, the group parted ways for the night, the next morning thinking that it was just going to be another regular day.

It wasn’t.
