"Hmmmm...You know? I hadn't really thought that ahead yet...Honestly, the only reason I opened Mane Melody in Maretime Bay in the first place, is because the townsponies REALLY needed some good manestyles. Hitch couldn't be the only one with a perfect mane!"

"...But now that you mention it, Bridlewood would need a Mane Melody too. I've heard that they're still using manestyles from the 50s. Like, HOW can you be so behind the times?!"

"And if I open a Mane Melody at Bridlewood, then Zephyr Heights can't be left behind. Most ZH ponies don't need makeovers, but given my MASSIVE fanbase, I think I'd get a lot of good customers anyway~!"

okay. OKAY. he could do this.. he could do this! no big deal! He was just.. trying to give something to pipp for hearts and hooves day.. not like she wasn’t an incredibly famous social media star who probably got hundreds of gifts, or anything.. the thought itself was almost disheartening, but hitch shook himself out of it quickly enough. no matter what, he was going to show pipp he cared for her. sunny had told him once that peonies meant beauty and elegance, and well.. If that didn’t describe pipp, what else did? he exhaled, moving to carefully draw the bouquet of peonies and carnations from his saddlebags.

reaching out a hoof, he knocked on the door of where she had been staying whilst in maretime bay and waited for her to answer. As she did, any semblance of confidence he normally exuded seemed to fly out of the window, and he stared at her for a long moment, blinking, before awkwardly extending the flowers out towards her. “for ah – for you, pipp! hearts.. hearts and hooves.. yeah! for hearts and hooves day! I just thought.. they’re pretty.. you’re pretty.. It just makes sense, you know? not that it’s the only thing about you! ” he grimaced, rolling his eyes back slightly. “ugh. let me just.. start over, okay? ”

Pipp did, in fact, receive lots of gifts on Hearts and Hooves Day. Fans, fellow celebrities, stallions and certain mares that wanted a chance with her. They all had something to say, something to send, whether they wanted her attention as a famous popstar, or as more.

Pipp loved attention, and she loved her Pippsqueaks more than almost anything, but...well, she couldn't say she wasn't missing anything. She was a princess, after all; it was a cliché at this point that princesses like her wanted big, strong, nurturing stallions to love them. And it couldn't be just anypony for her; the stallion needed to be somepony truly special, somepony who made her heart race, her day happier, her life fuller. Somepony like...

Knock Knock!

Her train of thought was interrupted, as she received a visitor in her Maretime Bay villa. A beautiful beach house that she bought to spare herself from flying too far to see her dear friends Sunny and Hitch.

The latter being exactly who she found in front of her door, unusually nervous and with...flowers in his hooves. Carnations and..peonies? OMG, they were her favorites!! And Hitch was...giving them to her? For Hearts and Hooves Day? And calling her pretty?

...No. Way.

Outwardly, the princess grinned, jittered, and giggled as Hitch stumbled over his words. On the inside, she felt as stupid as Hitch probably felt.

...How did she not notice that Hitch liked her? How did she not see this coming? Furthermore, why didn't she think of getting Hitch something for Hearts and Hooves Day? ...Hitch Trailblazer was exactly the type of guy she always dreamed of; tall, handsome, kind, nurturing, confident, funny, respectable, a total gentlestallion. Yet somehow, somehow, the sheriff needed to shove flowers in her face for her to realize he was the stallion of her dreams...

...Well, better late than never! Once she was finally able to stop herself from giggling, Pipp responded to the stallion, with blushing cheeks and loving eyes.

"I mean...if you want to start over, I'll let you....But you're already the cutest thing I've seen all day~" She cooed, being flirtatious on purpose for once, and not out as an unconscious manifestation of feelings she hadn't realized. Nope, she truly liked Hitch Trailblazer, and he was the most adorable thing when he was flustered~

"I say you keep at it! It's on her for not wanting to see my beautiful face and being annoying!"

She...secretly isn't joking as much as she's pretending to. Which is why she quickly gets unamused at Izzy's comment.

"Oh, you're just saying that to be nice and because we're both your friends. I'm clearly prettier. Especially because I look after myself! Everypony else thinks so!"

Her previous smile only brightened at Hitch's compliment, as did her bright green eyes. Inexplicably, her heart raced at his sweet words. Was she used to receiving compliments? Oh, for sure. She received them in spades on all her social media accounts. And it's not like Hitch had never complimented her before. But this was...different, somehow, in a way she couldn't explain or understand. She needed a moment to decide how to respond.

Her first instinct was to lightly stroke Hitch with the wing that was closest to him, her voice soft and...subtlely flirtatious. "Do you now~? ...I like that handsome smile of yours too, Sheriff~"

There was the popular saying, ❝Take a picture, it lasts longer❞. Pipp took it into consideration after staring at the stallion for so long, getting her phone out of one of her fluffy wings. Quickly setting up a good camera shot with gentle tap tap taps to her phone screen, she lifted her phone a bit for a selfie, hugging Hitch closer with her wing.

"Speaking of which, it's been a while since you've shown it to my Pippsqueaks. We're overdue~!"

...Well, when he put it like that.

Pipp lightly blowed on her lip in frustation...Well, there was no way she could deny him now. What was she gonna do, not trust the most reliable stallion she's ever been priviledged to know? The absolute best guy in her life? That was far from an option.

"...Of course I trust you. I trust you with my family, my life, my livestreams, even!" Pipp exclaimed, her common warped priorities quickly showing.

With a sigh, she pocketed her phone away. "Alright. ❝Spend some time off my phone.❞ I can do that! ...But only if we do something together to spend the time!" Pipp bargained.

Pipp giggled once noticing Izzy's blush, as well as at her comment. "Oh, you can count on it~"

After this encouragement, she started to hum and think deeply, to properly coordinate their next hang-out. Then, her bright green eyes light up, a grin just as bright coming up her face.

"Ooh, I'm free on Friday~! I think Friday would be perfect for us to meet!"
