WAYS TO APPRECIATE YOUR PARENTS
Weekly Journal Entry ~3~
This week, I’ve been trying to be more mindful about appreciating my parents. They do so much for me, and I want to make sure they feel valued and loved.
Before this I realised that I’ve been spending a lot of time on my own or with my friends so this week, I made a conscious effort to spend more time with my parents. On Friday, we watched one of our favourite movies together. It felt nice to be in the same room, laughing and enjoying simple things together. I could see how much it meant to them, and it reminded me how important these moments are. Other than that, I’ve been thinking about how we often rush through life without really appreciating the little things. This week, I decided to start creating additional memories with my parents. On Saturday, I ask them to join me on a walk in the park. It wasn’t anything grand, but we talked about life and it felt refreshing to just slowdown and enjoy their presence.
Another thing I did this week was to be more intentional in praying for my parents. Usually, I include them in my prayers, but this week I made a point to specifically ask for their health, happiness, and peace of mind. Suprisingly, this small change made me feel more connected to them spiritually. Aside from prayer, I also helped out more at home this week. Normally, my parent take care most of the house chores, but I decided to clean the living room and cook dinner without being asked. By doing this, I could see the relief on their faces. It goes to show that showing appreciation isn’t always about what we say but our actions speak volumes, too. Moreover, I surprised them with breakfast on Sunday, I woke up early to make pancakes, which is something they both enjoy but haven’t had in a while. As a result, they were thrilled, and it made me happy to see them enjoy the dish.
Finally, I started planning for their upcoming anniversary. Rather than just buying the usual gifts, I’m thinking about creating something more personal like writing them a heartfelt letter or planning a special day we can all enjoy together. This week made me realised that special occasions are a perfect opportunity to express how much I care in a more meaningful way. Overall this week taught me that appreciating in my parents goes beyond just verbal of thanks. Instead, it’s about being present, making an effort to do small things that bring joy to their lives. I want to continue finding ways to bring more joy and love into their lives because they truly deserve it.

WAYS TO EXPRESS LOVE
Weekly Journal Entry ~2~
This week, I've been reflecting on how I show love to people around me, particularly in relationships. I’ve realised that love goes beyond words. It’s a little, intentional things we do for each other that really make a difference.
It all started when one of my closest friends texted me, asking if we could talk. I knew they had been under a lot of pressure so I made a mindful effort to be an active listener. I realised that sometimes, in the past conversations, I’ve been guilty of offering advice too quickly, thinking about my own problems. This time, I just listened. We sat together for over an hour with them spilling everything that had been overwhelming them. I didn’t interrupt and didn’t jump in with solutions. I just let them talk. At the end of the conversations, they thanked me for not solving anything but simply for being there. I think when I truly understood the power of listening, It made me realised that sometimes the best way to show love is to be present. After those conversations, I reflected on how little time I’ve spent with my friends lately, with classes and everything in between, I’d let life get in the way. I decided it was time to make time for them. I reached out to a few friends and we arranged to meet for dinner on the weekend. We hadn’t all been together in a while, so it felt good to sit around the table, laugh, and catch up. The sense of comfort was undeniable by sharing a meal, setting everything else aside to focus on each other. I realised how important these moments are. It feel like a breath of fresh air.
To round off the week, I decided to do something small but thoughtful. One of my friend had mentioned how much they were craving a specific snack but hadn’t had time to grab it. So, on my way to meet them, I picked it up and surprised them with it. Their reaction was priceless. I realised that giving presents doesn’t always mean big gifts or grand gestures. Sometimes It’s just paying attention and showing someone that you care about the little things in their life. By the end of the week, I felt like my friendships had grown in ways I hadn’t expected. I’ve understand that showing love isn’t about saying the word but It’s about being there, being a good listener for them and paying attention to small details that make life richer.

HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF
Weekly Journal Entry ~1~
This week, I focused on practicing self-love, and it's been a rewarding experience.
I started this week by putting myself first. Setting boundaries and making decisions that prioritized my well-being. At first, it was challenging but I realised that taking care of myself isn’t selfish but necessary. To connect with nature, I made time to go for a walk in the park on Thursday. After a long exhausting day, the fresh air and the soft glow of the sunset calmed my mind, I felt calm and grounded. It made me realize that sometimes, the simplest things can bring so much peace.
I also focused on practicing a healthier lifestyle. During this week, I paid more attention to what I ate, adding more fruits and vegetables into my meals. Not only that, I also stay hydrated by drinking more water throughout the day. Because of these changes, I found myself feeling more energized and less sluggish, which boosted my productivity. Other than that, I decided to invest more time in my hobbies by writing a diary. I spend at least 30 minutes each evening expressing my thoughts and feelings by reflecting myself every day. This routine allowed me to process my emotions and gain clarity on what truly matters to me. It has become a valuable tool for self-reflection, and I’m grateful for the insight it provides.
Furthermore, I made it a priority to get enough sleep this week. Normally, being awake late at night was my struggle, but I set a goal to sleep at least 7 hours each night. As a result, I woke up feeling more refreshed and mentally focused each morning. It was a small improvement, but for me, it made a significant difference in how I felt. Overall, this week has been a valuable learning experience. Step by step, I’m starting to see how taking small actions towards self-love can create positive waves in my life. Moving forward, I plan to keep fostering myself. Stay connected with nature, and continue prioritizing rest. I’m excited to see how these routines will shape my well-being in the future.
