False went through the Nether portal through Eversea, with a district goal: She should have asked what Shelby was doing asking about fae. It was sort of embracing how long it been, but even if the matter was resolved, False was the curious type so she wasn’t quite letting it go yet. Beside it would be good visiting the Forgotten Cove in whole.

Using boats, she paddle over there, even with her wings at her disposal as it felt disrespectful to their pirate culture. Now finally at the deck, she called out a greeting in Shelby name.@archeologistfalse

Gem stopped by for help getting a flower in the Deep Dark for some fae pact she made, Lizzie also needed some of my help with dealing with the fae so I helped her move a warden and now suddenly everyone's worried I'm going to take the tunnel to the circle to go and do something incredibly stupid... Oli set up a lovely little house! I don't know if you've met him yet, but he's really nice. He did suggest he might steal things the second he met me, but to be fair, you're also big on talking about theft but you're the best and wouldn't steal anything too crazy. Scott made amends with Pearl, then they managed to mess up the relationship once again— I think it's because of some cold thing? Though that could be unrelated— and then I had to let Pearl out of jail again... Fwhip might be dealing with some sort of dangerous situation, so be careful with that since you two are neighbors. There might be someone looking to maybe kill poor Fwhip, but he'll be fine with some warden protection around his home. Right, I should also warn you about the warden movement, since you two are neighbors.

There’s something electric in the sea air, something that makes her feel a little more alive than she ever does with her feet planted firmly on the ground. It’s hard, manning a ship alone, no crew around her, but the rewards are just as plentiful as the hardships. Shelby ties knots and hauls rope and steers well into the night, never once slipping into sleep despite the stars and moon overhead. The phantoms call her name, but she pays them no mind. The ship must sail, after all. 

It’s invigorating, being back on the sea again, the freedom in the wind beneath her sails. There are no questioning gazes here, no web of lies, no ghosts with thorns wrapped around their necks. There is just Shelby, and the Sea, and that’s all she’s ever needed.

And then, between the breaking of one wave and the next, Shelby wakes up.

She doesn’t know where she is. She’s not entirely sure how she got here. Well—she sailed, obviously, she remembers that, but the memories can’t be right. When was the last time she slept? Ate? She should be exhausted, but… she isn’t. She’s not hungry at all. She stands on the bow of the ship and stares out at the waves and feels, for the first time in a month of dreamlike exhilaration, dread.

“Oh no,” she whispers, grabbing the rudder, eyes glancing up to the sky as she tries to figure out what direction she needs to sail—north? South? East, maybe, or west, or—

“Oh no no no no. This is bad. This is very bad. This is—”

Her body knows what to do, even if her mind doesn’t. She turns back towards the Cove. There’s so much she’s missed, overcome with seasick madness. She needs to get back as soon as she possibly can.

Or else let the Sea claim her for good.

Uhh, sure, that makes sense. And yeah, that is definitely something I can do! I just have to write a letter. Unfortunately, um, uh, there was... an accident with our paper supplies! Huge fire in the storehouse, big problem, terrible mess. I've got it handled though, it might just take me a while to get to writing that letter.

In the meantime, if you wanna keep your boat docked here, since Chromia's not on the coast, I can get you a spot sorted? Also, uh, help you get it here. The harbour's kinda treacherous if you don't know your way around.
