Rumors of my death...
Ok internet, I'm afraid life has caught up with me and it turns out I have what is called an Arteriovenous Malformation, or AVM. I discovered this twisted little collection of veins in my brain as a result of experiencing a sudden and continued numbing of the entire left side of my body. I've been at SF General for the last 36 hours or so, and hope to be discharged tomorrow. What will likely follow is neural surgery if one sort or another. Despite recent sad events at SF General, my experience thus far has been if a staff that are knowledgeable, caring and unexpectedly, hot. :/ Who knew?! As is my way, I've decided to document my experience on Tumblr. I hope to soon be bringing you my fascinating MRI and CT scans, as well as insights into the American health care system, courtesy if one of the lucky ones, someone with decent insurance. In the meantime, for those of you that know me personally please don't worry yourself too much. For those that have already reached out with love and support, know that your thoughts have lifted my spirits immensely.

It's official, any Republicans who support this shutdown are assholes
"At the National Institutes of Health, nearly three-quarters of the staff was furloughed. One result: director Francis Collins said about 200 patients who otherwise would be admitted to the NIH Clinical Center into clinical trials each week will be turned away. This includes about 30 children, most of them cancer patients, he said."

I have in the past been accused of not being romantic. I now realize that it's not that I'm unromantic, I just have a less conventional idea of romance. The reason I bring this up is because last night I witnessed one of the most heart-breaking scenes ever made for television: Breaking Bad, Season 5, Episode 14 - "Ozymandias". When Walt phones Skylar at the end of the episode I could barely hold back the tears. Romantic, of a sort.

It was an order for margarine, cornflakes and eggs that paved the way for an industry now estimated to be worth £117.6bn($186.1bn) to the UK economy alone.
Grandmother Jane Snowball, 72, sat down in an armchair in her Gateshead home in May 1984, picked up a television remote control and used it to order the groceries from her local supermarket.
