What do you use for the fur on your Cats unitards, if you don't mind me asking? Your costumes are all gorgeous!!

Mainly organza! Silk organza is what's used in the show, though occasionally there's more texture, like brush fringe or yarn.

After getting separated from the box in transit and appearing to be lost forever, I'm now in possession of one of my biggest dream items from CATS: 'Green Eyes'! These do not work any longer, but I don't mind, I'm so happy to have them. Worn by my authentic Rumpleteazer wig. Hoping this means I'll have good luck in finding and being able to afford more pieces this year.

Hi! I'm curious, what fabric are cats unitards made out of (both official and cosplay ones)? How long does it take to paint one?

Spandex/Lycra, which is a fully synthetic fabric. There is a cotton blend spandex, but it doesn't stretch as much or hold paint as well.

It personally takes me between 1-4 hours depending on the design. Most London cats are on the shorter end, whereas more complicated designs like the Broadway or German costumes take longer.

when your go to cons how do you pack your cosplays and wigs and what are some con essential you think everyone should bring

So, I've never actually traveled beyond driving in the morning for a con, but I did pack costumes(including an authentic unitard) and travel to the CFA Cat Expo last year to be floor entertainment. I pack most of my stuff in my usual suitcase, but I will *not* check it. Carry on ONLY if it has my cosplay stuff. And for the authentic uni and wigs, I literally just put them in a tote bag as my personal item. I didn't want my wigs to get squashed, and I did not want the authentic off my person at any time.

As for con essentials: HAND SANITIZER. I mask a lot in my day to day life, but I don't at cons. However, I wash my hands every time I touch anything. At all. And I've never gotten con crud. :) WATER. Please do not get dehydrated at cons, whether it's December or June. IBUPROFEN because wig and feet ow. SNACKS. Who can afford con food?? I bring some nuts, some jerky and a cheese stick, some applesauce and a granola bar even. Things that aren't just sugar(because I'll pig out on that later) so I'm well fed and not woozy. DEODORANT. Reapply. Please. And then if you're going to be gone all day PORTABLE CHARGER. So if you're ever unfortunately in a situation where you need to contact someone (my car broke down at con once for instance) you're not worried about battery.

Totally random, but did any here in the Cats community ever play the online pet game Flightrising? I played actively YEARS ago and took a... Very long break, before which I traded away all my stuff for art or gifted it. Now I'm addicted to the game again. I would love to possibly trade some cats cosplay commission pieces for old dragons/items/FR currency. Would also totally just accept it as a gift if you don't have any use for it lol

CFA Cat Expo

Back earlier this year, the Cat Fancier's Association put out a search for fursuiters for their biggest event of the year, so I reached out with my costumes, and the amazing @jelliclekay did the same. Instead of hiring any additional fursuiters from that search, they picked just the two of us, and brought us in to Cleveland to entertain for the weekend. Never has my body been so sore, and never have I been so happy. I had a blast meeting them and cosplaying with them, and seeing how many smiles we were able to bring to people's faces. People still love CATS!

I may not like the makeup, but I LOVE the costumes. I'm so sick of every single production looking the same and being so bright. These give me old 90s vibes and bring me joy

I have cosplayed Cats at many, many cons. They're very welcomed and a nostalgia hit for a lot of people. They're more popular than any other cosplay I wear to cons. I prefer general cons, but have done a couple anime conventions too. I've never been to a furry convention, but I know Jellicles are welcome there also.

I’m not much into con culture (as I’ve never been to one) but after exploring many cats cosplays I notice cons are typically a meeting point for cosplayers! I’m curious if there are specific cons they go to (maybe with cats cosplay meetups in mind?) or if any con is open to any type of cosplay??

It's not as bad as the Broadway revival and US Tour 6 to me, but I'm so so tired of boring cats with glam interchangeable makeup. That's not Carbucketty, that's just Pretty Boy Cat #2.

the fact this is supposed to be the same character hurts me

i just in recent tours the make up for me at least has been the weakest part and i think it's especially noticeable in some of the background toms

please tell me i'm not alone in this
