Or, like, bisexual like me, or pansexual, or asexual, or trans, or I'm- I'm coming up- I'm not doing well with the whole list of things. You are welcome if you're not a bigot! Not for bigots!

So uh trans rights, gay rights- uh, hm- having a think. Uhm- I mean I like you as long as you... rights, woo! We appreciate pride month in all its forms. Hashtag not for bigots. Yeah, I think that's a thing that I want to say to everyone. Like- the reason why we fight is because we have to. It would be nice not to have to fight but make sure we don't fight alone. Okay? Uhm-

[Cleo addresses the full chat again] All I'm saying is that there has been some backsliding in the world and you need to make sure that you do not let it go. But, also, people are more accepting now than ever. It is literally a small- like- there are people who are very pro-LGBT. Plus.

Uhm- most of the universe is just sort of like 'what, I don't care. You do you, I support you you do you it's fine'. And then you have the outright bigots. The outright bigot fraction is getting smaller and louder, okay? It is happening, they are smaller and louder than they've ever been. But still take care of yourselves.

[responding to chat] Yeah they're scared. They realise they're in their last throes of bigotry- I think- In most of the world's places. They're trying to make you more scared to be yourself, and I'm saying protect yourselves first. Make sure you are safe and that is the key thing. If you are not safe, I'm sorry just- just stay closeted until you can be safe. Because there's no poiint coming out and somebody hurting you. Get to safety first, okay? And then- and then fight. You can fight after you're safe, okay? And there is a whole community out there rooting for you.

After the Elven Religious Schism, it became law that: “No artist, craftsman, hobbyist or citizen shall henceforth imbue or possess the figure drawing or other depictions of sentient beings … with; (a) pupils, or pupil-like symbols; (b) other decoration of the eye outside of approved symbols (such as (i) a waning crescent, (ii) a waxing crescent) or stark white in a cool tone…” This law remained in effect until the fall of the empire Rivendell, despite the somewhat progressive leaning beliefs of the last king, King Scott of the lineage Major.

In the aftermath of such a long and bloody civil war, there was very little motivation behind the enforcement of this ordinance. Unlike the massive push towards book burning and destruction of temples and effigy, tapestries were spared. Often, in the capital and surrounding cities, the whites of the eyes of figures on tapestries were blacked out using a deep blue or navy dye. Despite this being technically against the law, no movement was ever made to change or destroy these pieces, leaving them as peculiar marks of history.

For Aeor following elvish citizens, it was typical to depict the pupil as a golden crescent moon. However, for the multiple Exor following and minority religious elvish peoples in Rivendell, different strategies arose. For Exor followers, the pupil – hemaih (literally “the heart of the eye”) – was an important religious symbol. In flatland elvish autonomous regions, the pupil remained, and the black dot became a symbol of resistance. In more western regions, especially in mountainous region, the traditional embroider-first dye-second style gave way to more subtle inclusion of the pupil. Often they would use horizontal stitches for the white of the eye, and vertical for the pupil, and then not dye it, to be in compliance with the “stark white” required of them. Some other groups used two different colored white threads to embroider complex patterns into the white of the eye.

the thing about etho that people do not give him enough credit for is that he loves a good bit

he’s not like, say, Martyn, who will immediately live and die by the bit bc he gets super invested in it. Etho doesn’t usually “yes and” in the traditional sense. he doesn’t really join in via roleplay too much, doesn’t often make a character or do a voice most of the time. he doesn’t even always really add new things to every bit—he definitely can and does, but i’ve def noticed that he doesn’t always bother with the “and” part of “yes and”

however. etho WILL hear out basically any bit. he loves to humor people. he loves treating the wack shit people say to him as if it were normal things or treat baffling idea like they’re reasonable. he will ask follow up questions and he will do so in an interested tone, and he will be thoughtful about his questions and the answers he gets. he loves letting people elaborate and make their own bit worse. he will cheerfully encourage people being insane by acting as though they are saying normal things to him
