Onward... Continuing with what is now know as the New Goths Reno - we have the finished kitchen/dining. Fun fact, this is actually the first room I started putting together, but since I was going with the flow I kind moved from one room to the other and finishing the kitchen got pushed back a little. Also, I am sure if you can tell, but I am trying to use less clutter than I usually do, still testing my game and all, plus this house is super big anyway, no need to over do it. I resisted the urge to make a pantry, which is kind of an improvement. But I will never even give up laundry rooms. I love making those, plus they make a house feel super lived in, so yeah! Laundry rooms for the win! The only problem is, I always end up making them too small and I can never take good pictures, but the majority of my pictures are not all that good to begin with so who cares! XD

Sooo... One thing let to another and before I knew it, while working on the new house reno, I started envisioning a certain family living there. And I kind of ended up making my own version of the Goth family.
I have been playing a lot with the original Goths in my TS1, before I managed to run TS2 and I started wondering of a different “what if“ scenarios with them.
In my version of the Goths, following my storyline from the original the Sims, Mortimer and Bella had a huge argument with Mortimer’s parents and decided to move to Magic Town in order to get Cassandra away from all the drama and also to follow in on Bella’s magic backgrounds. After some years of studying the arts of Magic and Magical crafts, Bella got pregnant with their second child and a little after she gave birth to Alexander the pair decided that may be raising a baby in the Magic Town environment is not such a good idea. And back into the mundane world they went by purchasing a lot in Bluewater Village.
And here is where this same plot line starts in TS2. Mortimer who achieved all there was to achieve in the Science Carrier decided he needs a change of pase and opened his own car retailing business. Bella decided she will continue to follow in on her magic studying while taking care of young Alexander, so she became a White Witch with the Order of light. And the pre-teen Cassandra, who after having spent so much time in Magic Town, decided she would follow in on her mom’s footsteps and become a witch herself once the time comes.
Yeap. And this is where I am, kind of. I can’t wait to finish the house and move them in already! XD

Mmm… yeah. Going with the flow can be pretty rewarding sometimes! The livingroom of the “Downtown Renovation House“ turned up waaay more modern than I was expecting it will. Plus, I never use too much glass furniture with my designs because I think it looks a bit funny, but for some reason it worked this time. In fact, It worked so well that I made it the “theme“ of the room. Glass tables, glass shelves, even the paintings have glass covers. And not to forget the awesome glass royal. The small pops of colors here and there worked wonders. And finally - white walls! I never, never, ever use completely white walls with my designs, because it looks waay to plain for me, but again - this time it worked for some reason and I couldn’t be happier!

I am working on a new house... Or more like a renovation of one of Downtown’s residential lots... Originally, I had a plan for it and since the house has a style of its own for the exterior, things were supposed to be set in stone. But once I actually started to decorate the inside my inspiration went wild and every room started to kind of take a life of its own... And since I like how things turn out bit by bit, I decided to just go with the flow... We will see how it will go by the end. It is a big house, so wish me luck. XD

For the main bedroom of the “TestHouse“ I went for a combination of black and blue. And since I had a problem with how big the room was again, I had to improvise with all the space left. So, what to do... make a walk-in closed and an on-suite. XD
Both became a bit small, but are still fully functional, plus I was left with a space for a reading nook, so it still worked in the end. The room has bit more “modern“ vibe than the rest of the house, may be because of the cold colors. But overall it turned up nice, I think.
Oh, and my game loaded, so I am off to play. More pictures... soon... Probably... XD

And since I always end up making rooms too big and I have to wonder what to put in them in the end...
This is actually the same room as the previous post, tho it may not look like it at first sight. XD I decided to call this the “play area“ of the room and I love it! It is somehow messy, but also in order. Exactly as a child would actually leave it. I am also so happy I managed to use the whole collection of Blythe dolls from 8-3 Studio. I love these dolls so, so much, but somehow I never managed to find a proper place for them in my game. I think they look quite cozy on the shelf. I imagine that the daughter of the “TestFamily“ is a big fan of these dolls and is taking good care of them.
This part of the room is probably the reason I love it so much. XD

I remember taking pictures being a bit easier. XD
So, still on the “TestHouse“, I managed to fully furnish it. I even moved in a family and have been playing with them for some time now. I will remember how it is done, eventually. XD
I want to take some pictures of the family, but I think I will need to get used to taking pictures first, before actually trying to pose the sims themselves.
This is the room of the daughter of the family. Here, I decided to ditch the green and move to pink instead. There are still some “greens” here and there, but not as much anymore. I may have gone a bit overboard, but I am overall happy with the final result. In fact this is my most favorite room from the whole house.

So, by the time I decided “Okay, may be my game really is finally working and I can actually do stuff with it...“ I was doing an office in the “TestHouse“. I was beginning to see an actual family live there. So apparently it is a family that loves the outdoors and as such also love gardening and plants, thus there are a LOT of plants everywhere. Also, that might explain my need to use the green color so much. It is also a family that is very creative in general. The mom I decided shall be a writer, writing books about gardening and cooking. Yeap. It is starting to take shape. Yey!

The kitchen is also fully functional and a bit more cluttered and “lived in“ now. I managed to complete a pantry and laundry to the side. With waay more clutter than necessary, but I was testing stuff... XD The family pet even made a “cameo”. Okay, not really, but I got too lazy to move him. Plus, I was on a green wave with the living and the kitchen!
I have forgotten how long it takes to edit photos, especially when I am eager to just sit down and play and build! Gosh, I missed this so, so much!!

So, I have been playing during the last days... I actually managed to finish a whole house, move in a family and play with them. I think I can work with this...
It took me some time to remember all the cheat codes and other tricks I used to do it regard to building functional but cluttered houses...
Anyway, here is the fully finished living room of the “Experimental House“, as I am gonna call it. We have cushions, working couch, usable TV and music station. The bookcases are deco only, but I have plenty of bookcases into other parts of the house, so it is okay. Hehe.

A miracle happened! Believe it or not, but FINALLY... I managed to make my computer run the freaking SIMS 2!! YEY!! It has been what? Two years? Or more like three!!
Well... I had to remove like... more than 90% of my CC collection... Reinstall the game like million times... But... FINALLY! It is running relatively smoothly!!! YEY!!
I missed this game so, so much! It was like coming home!
So, here are a few pictures of a house I am making in order to test the waters. So far, so good, tho I am still going relatively easy on the clutter and stuff! Wish me luck! We will see how this will turn up in the end!
