Kara Thrace aka Starbuck-Battlestar Galactica  Tough, talented pilot Kara Thrace was a fantastic character.  She had so many layers and was one of those people that had to fight tooth and nail for every inch of ground she got, but she was still vulnerable and someone who wanted love when you dug down deep.  She also wasn’t afraid to stick up for herself and had a very low tolerance for assholes.  I love her.  Katee Sackoff played her perfectly, always hitting the notes the moment called for, whether she needed to be funny, kickass, plain spoken, immature, steadfast, sexy, annoyed, scared, loyal or bratty.  What’s not to love about such a multi-faceted character?

Unfinished Business- Favorite Episode of Battlestar Galactica

To me, this is one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful episdoes of any show. The way it was shot is just so amazing, and it’s so raw and powerful. I once watched it on my laptop on an airplane. I was seated next to a very large, muscular man who must have been creeping a bit over my shoulder. When it was over, he turned to me, wiping away a tear and said “I don’t know what that was, but it was beautiful.” I think that says a lot, that he was able to feel it so much, without even knowing these characters. I spent the next few minutes filling him on some details, and it was delightful.

I just love it so much.
